- Hey everybody, it's Bobby here.
0:01
And it's first week of January,
0:03
and if you've been keeping up
0:04
and watching our air fryer recipes,
0:06
you saw me doing air fryer salmon earlier,
0:08
and that is such a great recipe.
0:11
And this recipe would actually be a perfect accompaniment
0:15
It's an air fryer Brussels sprouts recipe,
0:18
and it's super simple.
0:20
I've got a pound of Brussels sprouts
0:22
and I'm gonna use a little olive oil,
0:24
imagine that, and some salt and pepper.
0:26
But the magic ingredient here,
0:28
after the Brussels sprouts have cooked in the air fryer
0:32
is a little lemon zest.
0:35
So let's get started. It couldn't be any simpler.
0:37
I'm gonna start out with three tablespoons of olive oil.
0:43
So there's one, there's two,
0:48
and there's three tablespoons.
0:51
To that I'm gonna add about a teaspoon of salt
1:00
and maybe about a half teaspoon of pepper.
1:06
And then my Brussels sprouts right on top,
1:08
and I'm just gonna toss them around to coat.
1:10
And everybody, air fryers are just, you know,
1:14
I don't know what their reputation is, really,
1:16
out in the world, but I have an air fryer in my house.
1:20
I was introduced to air fryers
1:21
because my mom, you know, made one,
1:24
came up with an air fryer, Paula Deen Air fryer.
1:26
And gosh, do I love it.
1:27
And I use it all the time, especially with my family.
1:31
It just makes cooking and the cleaning
1:34
so much simpler and easy.
1:37
The timers and what have you.
1:38
And I'm not just, I'm not pushing my mom's brand,
1:41
In fact, they're in, they're made in microwave ovens
1:45
nowadays, and in conventional ovens,
1:47
they usually have an air fryer in them.
1:49
So, but I use the good old fashioned countertop air fryer
1:56
So here we go. I've tossed to coat my Brussels sprouts.
1:59
And that's really it.
2:02
Into, oh, check this out.
2:04
Man, parchment paper.
2:06
Speaking of easy cleanup,
2:08
to make this so much easier in the air fryer.
2:10
I've used tin foil and it's reflective
2:13
and it can kind of throw off the cooking process.
2:15
But parchment paper, great.
2:17
And these just come right from Amazon.
2:19
And you see the perfect size and shape,
2:21
makes cleanup just a flash.
2:24
So my Brussels sprouts go in.
2:28
And you're not good away from me, leaf.
2:31
Shake them around a little bit
2:32
just so not to have them crowded
2:34
and sitting on top of each other.
2:37
And then we're just gonna go over to the air fryer,
2:39
and we're gonna cook these for about 15 minutes.
2:41
So let's take a break. See you in 15.
2:45
Give it a little shake.
2:46
See, they're starting to get brown already on top,
2:49
but clearly not done.
2:53
We've still got about 10 minutes left on our timer.
2:55
A little shake, shake, shake, shake, shake. Back in you go.
2:58
Those Brussels sprouts are ready. My nose is telling me.
3:06
All right. Ooh, look at these, Theresa.
3:13
Ooh, those look so good.
3:17
All right, so let's see if I can do this without spilling.
3:24
Right into this perfect vessel.
3:26
This looks like something you'd get in a restaurant.
3:28
So at this point, I'm gonna shave this lemon zest on there.
3:33
That's gonna add a nice, unexpected burst.
3:39
You could also shave Parmesan on these.
3:42
And when you're cooking your Brussels sprouts,
3:45
you could tear and add a slice of bacon in there,
3:48
would be really nice.
3:49
You know, we always talk about recipes,
3:54
make it the exactly by the recipe the first time,
3:56
and then anytime after that, make it your own.
3:59
But we're going right by the recipe this time.
4:04
Little lemon zest. Let's see. Hmm.
4:09
Oh, it smells so good.
4:19
Hmm. I gotta say I love Brussels sprouts.
4:26
I'm easy to please. And I cook pretty simply.
4:28
These are perfect, delicious.
4:31
Now, if you wanted to have a little teriyaki on the side,
4:34
or balsamic on the side to dip them in
4:37
with some chopsticks, you could do that.
4:39
But those are perfect exactly as they are.
4:43
Air fryer Brussels sprouts,
4:47
excuse me, with a little lemon zest on top.
4:51
Great recipe. See you next time.
4:58
