- Hey, y'all. It's Jamie Deen, and guess what?
0:02
It is fall time, and I love fall time. I love football.
0:06
I love delicious recipes that you can enjoy
0:08
with all your family and friends.
0:10
Whether you're outside enjoying the nice weather
0:12
or sitting around a TV, enjoying the Georgia Bulldogs,
0:14
winning another football game.
0:16
Today I'm doing potato wedges. Love 'em.
0:20
I've got three potatoes that I started with.
0:23
So we're gonna try to get six wedges
0:25
outta each of these, y'all.
0:26
So that's a third, and I'm gonna turn it around.
0:29
And that's another third. This is a third.
0:32
Turn it around, another third.
0:34
So we're doing wedges, big potato logs.
0:39
You can also do these with sweet potatoes,
0:41
a little bit of brown sugar and some cinnamon
0:44
and they are delicious as well.
0:46
But today we're going with these potatoes.
0:48
Got something special planned for 'em.
0:51
Let's start with a coating
0:52
that we're gonna do with some mayonnaise, hot sauce
0:59
is two of my favorite things to go in a potato.
1:02
We've got some house seasoning, some garlic,
1:11
and a little bit of brown pepper.
1:14
And I'm gonna mix all these together.
1:18
I've got three pretty big potatoes here, and I have to have,
1:21
I'm gonna try to coat all of them with this.
1:24
So if you need to add a little bit of mayonnaise,
1:26
that's quite all right.
1:28
You know, there's no real measurement there.
1:31
You just make sure that you get all the wet that you need.
1:34
So we've got our wet ingredients mixed up here.
1:36
This is our, we've got a cornbread dressing mix.
1:40
This is just a dry dressing mix.
1:42
This is real similar, if you have ever fried any chicken
1:46
or anything at the house,
1:47
you got a wet hand and a clean hand.
1:49
I've got our container, our pan here, ready to go.
1:54
So we're gonna take our potatoes,
1:57
get a little bit of this sauce on them.
2:01
I could have picked a better bowl,
2:04
and we're gonna coat it with our cornbread
2:06
and lay 'em right here.
2:10
Ooh wee. This is gonna be good.
2:12
I think I might like this.
2:13
Look y'all. I got my dry hand wet.
2:16
The whole thing's falling apart.
2:18
Y'all don't really need to see all this.
2:20
I'm gonna coat my six potatoes.
2:21
I'm gonna get these arranged in our baking sheet,
2:26
and these are gonna go into the oven.
2:28
This is a 375 degree oven,
2:31
and these are gonna take about an hour.
2:35
Man, this is gonna be good. I'm really excited about this.
2:38
I've never had a dressing coated potato before,
2:42
and I tell you what that's gonna be a lot of flavor there.
2:45
And it's interesting enough,
2:46
and it's not a real big challenge,
2:49
but you can have people be wondering, "What in the world?
2:51
How did you get this done?"
2:53
So y'all, let me finish these up.
2:55
Let's get 'em in the oven
2:56
and we'll find out together how good they are.
2:58
Y'all, don't go anywhere. Taters today.
3:03
Look here, y'all. Our potato wedges are done.
3:08
We've got these seasoned just right
3:10
encoated with our dressing.
3:11
I can't wait to try it.
3:13
When Teresa and I were standing around, right,
3:15
if we do this, I said,
3:15
"You know what I'm gonna do next time?
3:17
I'm gonna do a potato wedge.
3:18
I'm gonna egg wash it,
3:19
and I'm gonna coat it with flavored potato chips.
3:22
I'm gonna do a flavored potato chip coated potato wedge.
3:26
So I don't go too far in the next whenever.
3:30
I don't even have a plate.
3:31
We're just gonna take it for a test drive.
3:34
Have a feelin' this one's gonna be hot too.
3:37
Potato wedges are super easy,
3:38
and I like leaving the skin on, you know,
3:40
all the skin from all the vegetables
3:41
is what has most of the nutrients in it.
3:43
So I love to leave potato skins on
3:45
if I'm doing wedges or french fries or potato salads.
3:49
A potato is a very, very favorite of my family. Let's see.
4:05
The dressing gives it
4:06
really, really, really a big crunch on the outside.
4:08
On the inside is done perfectly.
4:10
All the flavors are delicious.
4:12
Make you a dipping sauce for this, y'all.
4:13
It's fall time. Snuggle up with your family.
4:16
Y'all, eat your taters here. It's good for you.
4:18
I'm Jamie Deen. This is good food.
4:20
I'll see y'all around the kitchen.
4:22
Hm, needs a little mayonnaise.
4:26
