0:02
Well, I'm so glad to see that y'all came back.
0:05
I just went out into the garden
0:06
and picked some fresh mint
0:08
because I'm gonna be puttin' that
0:10
on top of our white hot chocolate,
0:13
but before we get started on that,
0:15
I wanna show you this wonderful quiche,
0:18
and it doesn't have your standard pastry crust.
0:22
We're gonna use a hash brown potato
0:25
and I've got three cups of store-bought frozen hash brown,
0:30
and I'm gonna put just a little salt and a little pepper.
0:36
Just season 'em up a little bit,
0:38
and then I'm gonna toss 'em in
0:41
a half a stick of melted butter,
0:44
and that's gonna help bind 'em together.
0:48
All right, so we're gonna toss those in
0:51
and I've got my pie plate over here,
0:54
and I'm gonna spray it with a little non-stick spray.
1:00
All right, now all we're gonna do
1:01
is just toss our hash browns into my pie plate,
1:07
and I'm gonna press these down,
1:09
formin' 'em in my dish like a crust,
1:13
and just keep pressin' and workin' it around.
1:17
So that's pressed in there nice and firm.
1:20
So let's get this popped in the oven,
1:26
25 minutes at 450 degrees.
1:29
Now I've got one that's already browned up for us,
1:39
You can see the crispiness going on with those potatoes.
1:44
let's put together the center of our quiche.
1:48
Now you can use your favorite ingredients.
1:52
I've got ham and I'm gonna use
1:54
about three fourths a cup.
1:56
Okay, that looks like about 3/4 of a cup,
2:00
and I'm gonna use about a half a cup
2:04
of diced, green onions,
2:06
and it looks like about three onions
2:09
are gonna be just right.
2:12
Now, I'm gonna take three eggs.
2:13
Oops, (laughing) one fell outta the basket,
2:17
but you can always increase your eggs
2:19
and the amount of your other ingredients
2:21
and make your quiche thicker,
2:24
but I think three eggs are gonna work nicely,
2:26
some salt, some pepper,
2:33
and then, we're just gonna beat those up.
2:37
And to our eggs, we're gonna add one cup of half and half.
2:44
I'm gonna toss in our green onions.
2:51
Last, we're gonna toss in our cheese,
2:54
and I'm just usin' a nice sharp cheddar cheese.
3:04
Now, we're just gonna pour this into our crust.
3:11
Now, we're gonna wanna lower
3:13
our oven temperature to 350 degrees.
3:18
We're not gonna need to bake this
3:21
as high as we did our crust,
3:24
and that'll take about 30 minutes.
3:27
So back in the oven it goes,
3:34
and it'll be ready before we know it.
3:36
All right now, our quiche is ready.
3:39
So why don't we pull that out first thing.
3:44
Oh gosh, it smells good.
3:51
Those potatoes, those hash brown potatoes y'all
3:54
have just like made a nest.
3:57
All right, let's cut into it and see what we've got.
4:01
You can see it's done because
4:03
we've pulled out a nice, clean knife.
4:10
Look at that, isn't that pretty?
4:17
I think a little dollop of sour cream,
4:19
and that'll go perfectly with the potatoes,
4:22
and a few sprinkles of onions
4:24
and we're ready to dig in.
4:36
It's just perfect, mm, I could stand down here
4:39
and eat that whole piece, but come on down here
