I'm going to be in this kitchen for a solid week,
0:07
the week of Halloween
0:08
to make all these Halloween goodies.
0:11
And I'm hoping that all your little children
0:16
are with your mama or daddy
0:17
or your grandma and your granddaddy
0:20
and you're watching so that you can make these recipes
0:27
This week I'm Paulaweena.
0:31
And these glasses won't stay on my face
0:34
so I'm going to take them off.
0:36
And you know what we're fixing to do kids,
0:39
you know at Halloween, you get so much candy
0:43
and you have candy left over don't you?
0:46
Well, Paulaweena is gonna show you what to do
0:51
with that leftover candy.
0:55
So you won't have to eat it like all at one time.
0:59
And somebody passed this recipe on to me
1:02
I can't remember who it was or where it came from,
1:06
but it's a great way to use up the leftover candy.
1:14
So we're going to start, excuse me.
1:19
The fog is getting to my throat.
1:24
Wonder if it's real frog in there.
1:29
It's Halloween it could be.
1:31
I'm going to start with one stick of butter
1:36
and like a half a cup of brown sugar.
1:41
And you'll want to make sure that your butter is
1:44
kind of at room temperature, softened a little bit.
1:48
So we're just going to,
1:52
make sure we beat this very, very well
1:57
and incorporate our brown sugar into our stick of butter.
2:04
We want it to get really creamy.
2:13
And then the next thing we're going to add kiddos,
2:18
is an eight ounce package of softened cream cheese.
2:27
I hope before the Halloween week is over
2:31
that I can show you how to make the neatest goblin
2:35
and you use cream cheese for the goblin.
2:39
My little ones love it.
2:47
So y'all can see this is going to be pretty soft.
2:53
And the hardest part for y'all is going to be waiting
2:58
because going to have to put this in the freezer
3:01
for an hour and a half and let it get really, really hard.
3:08
All right, so there's a half a cup of peanut butter
3:19
and a teaspoon of vanilla
3:24
and we're going to mix that in really, really good
3:27
with our cream cheese.
3:36
Doesn't that look great?
3:38
Now we're going to want to take our spatula
3:41
and come around our bowl
3:44
and push all that down into the center
3:47
so we can get every drop of it mixed up real good.
4:02
Now we're going to add our powdered sugar.
4:06
I think it was like a cup and a half.
4:13
(Paulaweena laughing)
4:42
I'm just trying to sling
4:47
our cheese ball off of our beaters.
4:50
That way I don't feel compelled to have to eat it
4:54
off the beaters, which is good.
4:59
Now we're gonna stir in.
5:04
You know those little buttercups,
5:05
those little Reese's butter cups that we had leftover.
5:09
Well, we have chopped ours up
5:13
and now we're going to stir it in
5:17
to our cream cheese and peanut butter mixture.
5:23
Now here's the hard part.
5:25
You see how soft this is.
5:27
You could not even begin to put it in a ball.
5:32
It would stick to your hands and be all messy.
5:37
So we're going to have to cover this
5:43
and put it in the freezer for like an hour and a half.
5:53
We're going to get it, let it get real firm
5:57
and then we're gonna make this into a ball,
6:02
and I've got another one of our leftover candies
6:06
that we're going to finish it of with.
6:10
Okay, so our leftover Halloween candy cheese ball.
6:16
Now we had this in the freezer really
6:17
for hour and a half I think, wasn't it Theresa longer?
6:21
- [Theresa] Yes. - All right.
6:22
So my hands, the warmth of my hands
6:25
is helping to mold this into a nice ball and it's sticky.
6:32
So what we're going to do,
6:36
I said, "We got one more leftover Halloween candy
6:40
that we're going to use."
6:43
And this is our Reese's pieces.
6:46
I'm going to have to wash my hands
6:48
so I don't get this all over our Reese's pieces.
6:54
Reese's pieces (laughs).
6:58
The older I get the harder my tongue has to work.
7:05
Alright, let's leave out that one.
7:07
This will help me, doing it this way.
7:13
So we're just going to take our ball
7:18
and roll it all in our Reese's pieces
7:23
until it's totally covered.
7:30
And I'm helping it along.
7:33
I'm kind of sticking them on.
7:43
This is going to be one pretty cheese ball kids.
7:54
Theresa, we may need some more.
7:57
- [Theresa] I got some--
8:07
They're hitting the thrower.
8:09
Thank you girlfriend.
8:30
Looking so Halloweeney.
8:34
Do I have it all covered daddy, can you tell?
8:36
- [daddy] That looks a bit (mumbles).
8:38
You got a few spots on the bottom.
8:41
- [Theresa] Yeah you might want to just--
8:44
Yeah, I see them now.
9:01
- [daddy] You look set.
9:02
- Is your ball covered?
9:04
- [daddy] I'm the dig in.
9:09
Now what are we going to put this on?
9:15
Do we need a plate to put it on
9:17
or just do it just like this?
9:23
- [Theresa] This will be a cheese ball--
9:28
- [Theresa] This will be a cheese ball the kids will want.
9:30
You know, some children don't want cheese balls,
9:33
but this one I think going to be--
9:34
- Y'all come get your bite.
9:48
It's the first sweet cheese ball I've ever had,
9:51
but I tell you this, I don't think it's going to be my last.
9:54
This is my (mumbles) glasses.
10:00
One of my ears is lower than the other.
10:05
Happy Halloween y'all.
