- So last year, we did a little trend,

this year, a trend you see on the internet

is adding fast-drying clay on top of a pumpkin

and shaping it into a ghost.

- Yes, and you always take things a little bit further.

I love the way you gave him a cap and everything.

And you can have fun with these.

Ya know, if you got different hats,

and you wanna just do it up with a witches hat

or just some kinda funky hat, you don't have to do it.

But if you wanted

like a bunch of different characters for your pumpkin,

have fun with it, y'all.

And Eddie is gonna show us just how he did this.

So Eddie, tell us what you're doin', baby.

- Okay, so this is just,

I mean, go find some quick air-drying clay

and get enough for whatever size pumpkin.

One container of this

pretty much handles a good size pumpkin.

And then what you need to do is just roll it out,

kinda how you want it to fit across the top of the pumpkin.

- [Paula] So yeah, it would've worked, but I guess-

- And it's pretty pliable once you get it on.

- Uh huh.

- And you can use a little bit of warm water

to kind of start molding it.

- Yeah. - So-

- Oh, and Eddie,

you flared out, like the sheet would do on a ghost.

And I mean, it's hard.

It's hard- - Oh yeah, yeah.

It says, you know,

maybe about three days for it to be completely-

- And it'll start probably getting a little more white.

But, you can add some paint to-

- I might add a little more white paint to that

- But you did some dark in there so you could see the folds,

and you painted the eyes and the mouth.

we need to find some stones and glue on those eyes,

you have to start playing with it a little bit.

So you're gonna roll some out and add some more to it?

we'll roll this out and kinda add it on.

So let's take a little break and we'll finish up that side.

so once you get the clay on the pumpkin the way you want it,

just start using some warm water

and kinda softening all the bumps.

And start molding, you know,

if you want a little play in the cloth

to make it look like it's kinda floating.

Start bending it out

and just keep softening all the creases.

And then while it's somewhat wet, use something

to kinda start forming some creases in the clay

to make it look like it's kinda flowing.

- Yeah, yeah.

- And you want to be able to start figuring out

where a face is gonna land

on the side of the pumpkin you wanna use.

So you can start kinda making the sheet

like you have a head underneath it.

- [Paula] It's almost like pottery, isn't it?

- Oh yeah, definitely.

so now that it's all smooth and laying flat on the pumpkin,

you can start using your fingers

to start making some of the grooves.

And just keep a little bit of warm water in a dish,

and the clay will just move really quickly for ya.

And once you get it the way you want, nice and smooth,

he's got some flaring around the bottom,

you can start carving out you whatever kinda face you want.

I think we'll do just kind of traditional circle eyes.

And the last one, we did kinda spooky,

so why don't we give this one here just a smile. (laughing)

And again, go back in, kinda smooth out the edges.

And you can still shape some with your fingers.

Or if you like kind of like the crusty edge, leave it.
