0:00
- With Memorial Day, y'all, just around the corner,
0:05
I wanna share a recipe that y'all may like
0:07
if you're getting together with a group of friends
0:09
and you have to bring something.
0:13
Any of my macaroni and cheese recipes
0:16
that I share with y'all, y'all seem to really like.
0:20
So today, I am sharing with you
0:23
a macaroni and cheese recipe with pulled pork,
0:29
two things that a lot of people really like.
0:32
So I'm gonna take my 13 by 9 pan,
0:40
And then I'm gonna take my one pound of pulled pork
0:48
and a cup of barbecue sauce.
0:53
And I'm actually using my son's barbecue sauce,
0:57
and it's really, really tasty.
1:03
But the recipe recommends that you use a vinegar-based.
1:09
So that's up to you as to what you want to use.
1:11
But we're doing Deen Brothers' Barbecue Sauce.
1:20
And if you like a sweet barbecue sauce,
1:24
They also have a wonderful mustard-based sauce.
1:29
I have got a half a stick of butter,
1:34
and over medium heat,
1:40
because we are gonna make
1:46
a creamy base to go with our pasta.
1:50
Okay, y'all, the butter's melted.
1:57
And I'll cook this for a couple of minutes
2:02
to just make sure there are no lumps
2:07
and it doesn't taste just like flour.
2:10
All right, so that's nice and smooth.
2:12
So I'm gonna slowly add my milk
2:16
to make us a nice, rich custard.
2:19
And you wanna do it slowly.
2:21
You don't wanna dump all that milk in there at one time.
2:25
You want to be able to control the lumping process.
2:29
So we're gonna do it slow and easy.
2:41
We're gonna let this cook for five minutes.
2:45
Okay, now to this, I'm gonna add paprika,
2:58
I'm gonna blend that in good.
3:04
Now I'm gonna add that wonderful ingredient.
3:09
That wonderful ingredient
3:10
that makes macaroni and cheese so good.
3:14
And that's a half a block of an eight ounce,
3:17
so it'd be four ounces of cream cheese.
3:21
And now I'm gonna add my cheddar cheese,
3:24
three cups of cheddar cheese to our sauce.
3:33
This is gonna be good, y'all.
3:35
This wonderful recipe
3:37
is one that was included in my magazine,
3:39
"Cooking with Paula Deen Magazine,"
3:42
and it's really good.
3:43
But, you know, I told y'all,
3:44
I change my recipes every time.
3:47
It's hard for me to make a recipe the same way twice.
3:52
Everything is nice and melted.
3:55
So now, I'm going to add
4:03
and my bacon that's been precooked some,
4:06
not crispy all the way.
4:10
Alright, so this is when we add our pasta.
4:14
And I'm actually going to...
4:19
Lulu knows that Theresa is a sucker.
4:21
- [Theresa] And I am.
4:22
- But treats, so that's what she's asking for
4:24
and that's what she's gonna get.
4:26
I'm gonna add just a little cream to this
4:28
because I want my sauce a little thicker,
4:34
I mean a little thinner.
4:38
So I want it to be able to stick to that pasta.
4:45
Okay, so like I said, call for a whole 12 ounce box
4:50
of these cute little noodles, these seashell noodles.
4:58
But there's a good chance I will not use 'em all.
5:10
So I just wanna make sure that it's a good bath
5:16
in that cheese sauce.
5:25
And this is not going to take much time
5:33
because everything is done in it.
5:35
So we're just gonna bring it back to bubbly, bubbly hot,
5:41
and then we'll be ready to eat.
5:48
Alright, I used almost all of those noodles.
5:59
And it says our one and a half pounds of pulled pork
6:10
of my son's barbecue sauce.
6:13
It's really, really good.
6:15
But you can actually use any kind of sauce you want.
6:20
Whatever you feel like goes with this.
6:23
Now this recipe also calls for cilantro.
6:29
My family, my two boys,
6:31
they just really don't care for cilantro.
6:34
So I'm leaving it out.
6:37
And you could substitute with parsley.
6:43
So this is going on top of our pork, y'all.
6:48
This is truly macaroni and cheese, y'all.
6:56
The recipe told all of us
7:02
to top with one more cup of cheese
7:06
before you put it in the oven.
7:08
But I don't like for my cheese to be hard.
7:12
I like for it to be just melted and still kind of creamy.
7:16
So there we go, for five more minutes,
7:20
we'll give that to melt properly.
7:24
Then we're gonna dig in, honey.
7:27
Y'all, this is perfectly melted.
7:32
'Cause otherwise, it'd gotten brown
7:35
and I don't like my macaroni and cheese brown and hard.
7:45
Y'all see the smoke coming off of it?
7:51
I should listen to that smoke. (laughing)
8:13
if you're going somewhere on Memorial Day
8:16
to take as your contribution.
8:30
So if you're cooking out,
8:31
going to somebody's house for a cookout,
8:35
you can just ask them to put this in their grill
8:41
on an end that doesn't have fire
8:45
and to keep it warm that way.
8:51
With love and best dishes.
