0:00
- Hey everybody, Bobby Deen here,
0:02
and I've got a great hot apple cider recipe for you.
0:06
You know, Thanksgiving is right here.
0:07
It's knocking on the door.
0:08
And this is a perfect Thanksgiving recipe,
0:11
and it's so easy, so simple.
0:13
It's gonna make your house smell great.
0:14
And I think you're really gonna like it.
0:16
So let's take a look.
0:18
Very simply, a coffee maker, right?
0:21
Most of us have one of these at the house.
0:25
If you don't, they're not expensive at all.
0:28
- [Theresa] That was 10 bucks.
0:29
- 10 bucks, get outta here.
0:32
- [Bobby] Theresa says this was 10 bucks.
0:33
All right, I like it.
0:35
All right, so here's what we're gonna do.
0:36
The top where the filter would go,
0:38
and you don't even need a filter for this, okay,
0:41
we're gonna put some cloves, a couple cinnamon sticks,
0:46
cranberry sticks, a couple cinnamon sticks,
0:48
and some brown sugar right in the top.
0:53
And to our pot, back where you would normally put the water,
0:57
we are going to pour in our apple cider.
1:13
- [Theresa] Smells so good-
1:18
And some of you probably are already...
1:20
oh, let me pour over here so you can see.
1:23
So that's apple cider and then cranberry juice.
1:29
And we're gonna make sure that we don't overfill it
1:32
'cause that would be a mess.
1:33
Oh, that's perfect. Look at that.
1:35
And we're just gonna turn our machine on.
1:40
And immediately this is gonna start to heat up
1:43
and that hot water is gonna run through the cinnamon
1:45
and the cloves and the brown sugar.
1:48
And it's going to deliver to us a delicious pot
1:53
of hot apple cranberry cider.
1:56
Now if you wanted to, I don't drink at all,
1:58
but if you wanted to,
1:59
you could add some bourbon to this, or you could,
2:01
you could make it an adult beverage if you want to.
2:04
But this is for the whole family,
2:07
and I suspect that it'll cure what ails you too,
2:10
so if you've got one of those fall or winter colds,
2:13
then this would make you feel so good.
2:17
So hang around, and in about five minutes,
2:19
this will be ready and we'll have a cup, okay?
2:33
Okay, everybody, it's been about five minutes
2:35
and our apple cranberry cider has fully brewed.
2:38
It smells spectacular.
2:41
So let's take a look here inside of our, ooh, filter.
2:47
- [Theresa] All the sugar.
2:48
- [Bobby] Mm hmm, the sugar is gone.
2:49
The cinnamon sticks are still there, the cloves,
2:53
- [Theresa] Bobby, look at the apples.
2:55
You can see the apples.
2:57
Yeah, the heat has got everything swirling in there.
2:59
You can see the apples.
3:01
- [Theresa] Isn't that crazy?
3:03
- Yum, yum! - Claud, Claud, can you smell
3:04
this apple cranberry cider - Oh, it smells delicious.
3:06
- [Bobby] that we made?
3:07
- [Claudia] Yeah, I was telling Theresa.
3:09
- [Bobby] You should have a cup. I'm gonna have a cup.
3:12
- [Claudia] What is it?
3:12
Is it like apple juice? - It's apple,
3:14
apple cranberry cider. - No, it's apple cider
3:18
- [Claudia] I'm making this with your mom.
3:24
and made a big pot of chicken and dumplings.
3:27
- [Claudia] Chicken noodles.
3:27
- Chicken noodle soup, excuse me.
3:29
Chicken noodle soup with egg noodles.
3:31
And so we've got all the fall stuff going right now.
3:34
This house smells so good.
3:36
It smells like chicken noodle soup.
3:37
It smells like the grits casserole,
3:42
the grits and greens casserole that I baked earlier.
3:45
Smells like apple cider and cranberry.
3:48
Smells like Thanksgiving and fall all rolled into one.
3:53
Let's see. - Smells like cinnamon.
3:54
- Smells like cinnamon.
4:02
Oh boy. (Claudia chuckles)
4:03
That's exactly what the doctor ordered.
4:07
- [Theresa] We have a winner?
4:08
Oh my gosh, is that so good. - I wanna try it.
4:09
I'm curious. - You wanna taste it?
4:12
- It's so hot. - Careful, yeah, oof.
4:15
That is so good, y'all. - Mm.
4:19
- Oh, is that so good? Make this tonight in your house.
4:22
- Is this your recipe?
4:24
- No, it's his mom's.
4:28
Yeah, so all you need is a simple coffee maker at home.
4:34
Cinnamon sticks and brown sugar right into the top.
4:38
And then we poured in the apple cider and the cranberry,
4:44
It's hot and spectacular.
4:46
- [Claudia] You can, um, I don't know if I'm allowed to-
4:48
- And you could add some bourbon if you wanted to,
4:49
but I didn't. - I was gonna say,
4:51
that I'm like, I don't know if I'm allowed to,
4:52
but can you put alcohol in that?
4:53
Isn't that how people drink it?
4:54
- [Theresa] You can. (Claudia chuckles)
4:56
- [Bobby] No alcohol in this house.
4:57
- [Theresa] And the recipe does tell you
4:58
that you can add something to it.
5:00
- Sure it does, yeah.
5:01
So where is this recipe posted? I forgot.
5:03
- [Theresa] It's gonna be online when this video comes up,
5:05
but you also can find it in "Paula Deen and Friends."
5:08
- "Paula Deen and Friends," (fingers snap) that's right,
5:09
that's an old book. That's been around for a long time.
5:11
"Paula Deen and Friends" is where you can find this recipe
5:13
and it's online whenever this recipe comes out.
5:15
So, thanks for tuning in.
5:17
See y'all later. - Cheers!
