- Hey, y'all, it's Jamie Deen, and Merry Christmas.
0:02
I'm back here in mom's kitchen,
0:03
and today we are doing
0:04
a delicious, super simple roll recipe,
0:08
so you can have these ready when your guests come over
0:10
and everybody can eat a roll,
0:12
or you can serve 'em with dinner.
0:16
First thing I did was put a little bit of flour
0:18
on my bench here, and we've got pre-prepared pizza dough
0:23
from the grocery store.
0:24
As you can see, I rolled this out
0:26
into kind of a not really a circle, kind of a oval.
0:31
and now I've gotten, I've yielded 12 out of each one.
0:36
Now, Theresa's put together the items that we're gonna need
0:38
for this: Parmesan cheese,
0:41
this is just cheese sticks that we've cut up,
0:44
and I have some melted butter and some seasonings for later.
0:46
But the first thing we're gonna do, y'all,
0:48
is take your piece of cut cheese, string cheese,
0:56
And we're gonna set it on our prepared pan now.
0:59
This is the fun part.
1:00
And you put this out.
1:01
We're gonna do this into the shape
1:05
so it's actually a Christmas roll tree.
1:09
And, you know, everybody in my family is down
1:12
with Christmas breads.
1:14
Cheese in the middle, and cheese on the top.
1:17
You are so busy here around Christmas time,
1:19
if you can find something that is easy enough
1:22
to put together like this
1:23
that will make such a great impression on your table,
1:26
this is the recipe that y'all have been waiting for,
1:29
and you can get your kids involved in this too.
1:30
Play peek-a-boo with your string cheese.
1:36
This is gonna go into an oven at 400 degrees
1:39
for probably maybe 20, 25 minutes.
1:43
And when we get finished, we're gonna incorporate our spices
1:48
that we have going on here.
1:50
And so, mighta coulda used a bigger pan.
1:53
The recipe calls for a circle pan,
1:55
which kinda makes sense now that I've gotten started.
1:58
So, our tree looks like a tree.
1:59
- [Person Behind Camera] Eddie, do we still have
2:03
- [Eddie] Yeah, it might be right there.
2:08
- Oh, I love putting myself in a situation
2:10
that I think I've made a mistake,
2:11
and then I work my way out of it.
2:12
I'm gonna make this work.
2:15
I'm gonna have you some hot bread in about 15 minutes.
2:22
This is gonna work out perfect.
2:23
I got one more line coming this way,
2:25
and then I gotta get our trunk.
2:29
Now, if you wanted to use any kind of cheese in this
2:32
Mozzarella string cheese has been the best for us.
2:34
There is a million different cheeses.
2:36
If you've got a flavored cheese that you particularly enjoy
2:39
that you wanna bring in, that'll be perfect too.
2:44
I managed to do all the talking
2:45
and all the building at the same time.
2:50
Now, we've got three little pieces of bread here left
2:58
Some red pepper flakes will be good on this too;
3:00
add a little bit of color to it.
3:02
We've got some rosemary coming in,
3:04
and we've got some more cheese.
3:05
Okay, this is the cool part.
3:08
Between this bread, I'm gonna drop
3:10
some of these string cheeses
3:14
so they'll melt and kinda bind our entire project
3:18
that we've got going here together.
3:23
This is kind of messy looking on the pan,
3:24
but it is gonna be delicious in your mouth.
3:28
I'm gonna sprinkle this liberally.
3:30
Theresa's got our oven going at 400,
3:32
so I'm gonna put this in for about 15 minutes.
3:36
So, y'all stick around.
3:37
I'll be pulling bread outta the oven,
3:39
and we're gonna put all this on the top.
3:41
Merry Christmas, y'all.
3:47
I cannot walk by a piece of burnt cheese on a tray
3:52
It's your Christmas tree, y'all.
3:54
Now, I've got melted butter.
3:56
To this, I'm gonna add some salt,
4:00
dry Italian seasoning, and a little bit of garlic powder.
4:08
Garlic, Italian, and salt butter.
4:14
Now, I'm gonna brush it on here.
4:16
We've just taken it out of the oven,
4:19
so this will give it a little bit of time to cool.
4:24
Doesn't that look good?
4:26
This is one of my things right here, y'all,
4:33
I think it looks delicious.
4:36
Now, I've held back a little bit.
4:39
I might have been supposed to put
4:40
some of this chopped up rosemary in that butter.
4:52
The next thing is ready to go.
4:55
Busy days around here, y'all.
4:57
So, I've got some of our fresh rosemary.
4:59
I'm just gonna sprinkle it here on top.
5:01
Get some of that rosemary flavor in there.
5:06
Now, I got a couple of squigs here that I've saved.
5:10
How about if we garnish it
5:14
with some leaves coming out here and there.
5:16
Doesn't this look good?
5:18
Don't y'all wanna eat this?
5:25
I'm gonna eat the very bottom,
5:27
so we don't lose our Christmas tree yet.
5:30
And this is just a pull apart.
5:34
And pop it in your mouth.
5:40
A lot of reasons why my pants were so tight growing up,
5:43
and bread and cheese was one of 'em.
5:58
Here comes Peeps. The hot bread's ready.
6:02
I'm Jamie Deen, this is good food.
6:04
See you around the kitchen.
6:17
Delicious. - Hot cheese (indistinct).
6:22
