how do I say it?

as just honest,
6:25
humble, home-cookin' food that...

6:41
look at it and give me her honest estimation of it,
6:45
and I'm gonna repeat the word, but that's exactly what she said

6:50

6:52
the nicest thing to say, you know?
6:54
- Yeah, yeah.
6:55
- Just the best compliment I could get.
6:56
Well, the next best compliment was when it went to number one

15:16
That's all right; I'm sure that you have a select--
15:17
- I haven't made a mistake. My pots are perfect.
15:18
- Well, you chose--right, they are.
15:20
You just chose the wrong one.
15:22
I'm sure that this is one of-- - Don't--
15:25
- I'm sure that there are several that come
15:27
in this collection, right?
15:29
This is not a singular pot. - No this is--
15:30
- It came probably with other ones.
15:32
- Yes, so-- - I bet it's got a big brother,
15:33
doesn't it?
15:34
- Ooh, you want to see the big brother?
15:36
- Sure.
15:38
- All right, let me find that big brother.
15:40
- Well, imagine not knowing where it is in this kitchen.
15:43
- Oh, no, I know where it is.
15:44
- Do you?
15:46
Now, that is a goulash pot.
15:48
- This--this is my favorite pot in the whole world.
15:51
- That is beautiful.
15:52
- You think I ought to switch it?
15:53
- Yes.
15:55
- All right, Bobby, don't you worry, sonny; I've got--
15:57
- So just like that, right?
15:59
- No. - No?
16:00
- No, you've got to pour it in, goofy.
16:05
All right.
16:08
[laughs]
16:10
So now that we've got the room, I'm gonna go ahead,
16:13
and we're gonna cook our...cavatappi?
16:16
- Cavatappi, yes. - I said it right.
16:18
- You did. - Yay. I'm gonna add our--
16:20
- Unless it's pronounced cavatappi.
16:21
In which case, you didn't say it right.
16:22
- Okay, well, if you think I said it right,
16:24
that's all that matters to me. - I think you did.
16:26
- All that matters to me is what you think.
16:28
- That's the way I say it.
16:30
- And, Bobby, I love using cracked black pepper.
16:34
- Me too. - And I think where you're
16:36
sitting is my container of...yeah.
16:41
- Ooh, you've got--wow, look at all the good salts too.
16:43
Ooh, I'm gonna come over here and rob.
16:45
- Well, help yourself, son,
16:47
'cause I don't use most of this stuff.
16:50
Now, you can add hot sauce to this.
16:52
You could add-- - Oh, and I do.
16:53
- You could add crushed red peppers.
16:55
- I do. - You do?
16:56
- I do.
16:58
- I know I've got crushed--yeah,
16:59
I've got some crushed red pepper.
17:01
- You have some pepper flakes?
17:02
- So I'll put a few of those in there.
17:05
- Ooh, yeah. - But normally,
17:06
when you were growing up
17:09
and I was cooking this for you-- - I'm still growing up.
17:11
- I know. - I'm still growing up.
17:12
- I know, but when you were a young boy,
17:15
I wouldn't put things like that in it,
17:18
'cause I didn't want to burn y'all up.
17:20
- Thank you. - So that's it.
17:21
We're just gonna put the lid on this and let it cook.
17:25
I'm gonna bring the temperature up and get it really hot again.
17:29
- You told me recently that you had gone down to the restaurant,
17:31
and I did too.
17:32
I went down to the restaurant. - Oh, Bobby.
17:34
- And... - I'm so glad.
17:36
- I had the best time
17:38
just walking around talking to people.
17:40
- Some of the greatest people in the world
17:42
walk through our doors.
17:45
- Well, you're right about that,
17:49
very nice people that appreciate--
17:51
- Just good, salt-of-the-Earth people.
17:53
- Yeah, right, that appreciate good food, you know,
17:56
and a lot of people that really appreciate your story
17:58
since we are very much like every--you know,
18:01
everybody that comes there.
18:02
- Yeah. - Just regular old people.
18:04
- Regular old folk.
18:05
- All right, enough of chewi'' the fat.
18:06
I'm ready to chew the fat that's in that pot.
18:07
So is it ready? - Okay, well, it's almost ready.
18:10
- Okay.
18:16
I so hope y'all are enjoying the show.

[upbeat music]
18:36
- Okay, Bobby, it's finally ready, son.
18:38
- Well, everybody's hungry.
18:40
- And you notice I had some-- wait.
18:42
Now I'm gonna mess this up.
18:44
Parmesan oreg--um...
18:48
- [laughs]
18:49
- Parmesan and Romano mixed cheese.
18:52
- Is that the kind you had?
18:53
- Yes, fresh-grated.
18:55
- How is it? Is it good?
18:56
- You're the goulash expert.
18:58
- It good. - So you tell me.
19:00
- Oh, and it's so good.
19:02
- Mmm. - That's what I'm talking about.
19:04
When I tell you that I want goulash,
19:05
that's what I'm talking about.
19:06
- [laughs]
19:08
Well, I'm so glad I did it for you.
19:12
- You know what? - What do you--do you like more
19:13
meat or more noodles?
19:18
- I like them both so much,
19:21
but given the option, I would say extra meat.
19:24
- I like extra noodles.
19:26
- Do you? - Mm-hmm.
19:28
- Well, everybody's different. You know what I really like?
19:30
I like that it's just you and me, and nobody else is here
19:32
to share it with.
19:33
- Isn't that the truth?
19:34
We don't have many of these quiet meals, do we?
19:36
- Mm-mm.
19:37
Did you put the butter in it?
19:39
- No, I didn't-- - Liar, liar.
19:41
- I did not. I did not put--
19:43
- Liar. - Nope, not one speck of butter.
19:46
I promise that, just 'cause I forgot.
19:49
- Did you really?
19:50
- Yeah, I meant to.
19:52
- Well, you know what?
19:54
- I meant to put a couple of tablespoons in.
19:56
- Turns out it doesn't need it.
19:58
- [mumbling indistinctly]
20:00
- And you probably--you probably could have put
20:03
anything you wanted to in this goulash, and I wouldn't have
20:06
cared, 'cause the only thing that matters is that I was here
20:07
eating it with you.
20:09
- Yes.
20:10
I feel like you and I both had a great time being together.
20:14
- Always. - And there's nothing better
20:15
than that for any mother or father.
20:18
I just hope that y'all enjoyed it as much as we did.
20:22
Because it makes Bobby and me so very happy
20:27
to know that you're on the other end.
20:30
And we send y'all all kind of love.
20:32
We hope you have a blessed day.
20:34
And we hope that you'll be back the next time we be back.
20:39
- Yeah, and I hope the next time I come over here and ask you
20:42
for butter I get some butter; I didn't get any butter.
20:43
- [laughs]
20:45
I'll put some butter in it.
20:46
- Mmm.
20:51
Hey, y'all, it's Paula Deen.
