0:00
- I can't believe it y'all,
0:01
but I'm thinking Thanksgiving in my head,
0:04
it's gonna be here before we know it.
0:07
So I'm wanting to share some tried and true recipes
0:10
with y'all that people expect on their Thanksgiving table,
0:15
like green bean casserole, like yeast rolls.
0:18
So I've got three fourths of a cup of warm water here,
0:22
and I am gonna dissolve my yeast
0:32
And this is really an easy yeast roll recipe.
0:40
All right, so what makes this yeast roll recipe so easy is,
0:45
I'm using a biscuit mix.
0:48
I've got two and a half cups of a biscuit mix.
0:53
And I've got a tablespoon of sugar.
1:00
So I'm gonna whisk that up real good.
1:11
Because that biscuit mix has everything that we need in it
1:17
to make these rise up nice.
1:20
And then we got our yeast,
1:22
it's gonna give it that yeast flavor.
1:24
All right, now we're gonna add our yeast mixture,
1:29
and we're gonna stir it very vigorously.
1:39
All right, I have to fix and have to get rid of the,
1:48
fix and have to get rid of this
1:56
I added just a little bit more water,
1:59
because I was having trouble
2:05
So, I mean, I probably didn't add,
2:09
maybe two tablespoons extra.
2:11
And I might not have had my three quarters, you know,
2:15
measured quite right, so.
2:19
And we need to knead this
2:23
about 15 or 20 times.
2:31
Let that yeast get all in that biscuit mix.
2:40
All right, now there's several ways that,
2:47
just depending on how you want to present your yeast rolls.
2:55
Now, you can do it like in a muffin tin,
3:03
like three separate balls,
3:08
you know, and have like a clover leaf,
3:12
or you can just do one big one.
3:15
And I think I'm just going to do the one big one.
3:33
I think we've kneaded that nicely.
3:36
Now I've just got to shape 'em
3:39
and put 'em on a baking sheet and let 'em rise.
3:46
We're gonna let 'em rise for one hour, y'all.
3:50
I have sprayed this with some olive oil.
4:06
And you wanna do like a heaping tablespoon
4:10
if you're gonna do it like in a ball.
4:25
I don't like the way that one looks, I'm gonna do it again.
4:28
I'm gonna do it over again.
4:31
All right, so you just wanna do this
4:32
until you've got all your balls,
4:35
we're gonna cover this with a damp rag
4:37
and we're gonna let it sit for an hour.
4:39
Okay, I found me a clean damp rag.
4:44
I'm gonna dampen that side a little bit more.
5:02
And I'm gonna find a warm place to put this in,
5:06
and in one hour we'll see what we got. (chuckles)
5:10
Fingers crossed, y'all.
5:12
All right, y'all, our yeast rolls has risen,
5:20
so we're gonna brush those with butter.
5:25
And when we take 'em outta the oven,
5:31
we gonna brush 'em one more time
5:44
I do love a yeast roll.
6:04
for about 15 minutes, it depends on your oven.
6:12
I hope these are good.
6:14
Look at these beautiful yeast rolls, y'all.
6:18
All right, now we buttered them before we put 'em in,
6:22
and now I'm going to give 'em a little quick more butter.
6:25
(chuckles) 'Cause more butter's better.
6:31
And they turned out looking very, very good.
6:52
If there was an ugly one in the bunch, it's this one.
6:56
So this is the one I'll sample.
7:15
Did I hear y'all say more butter?
7:17
(chuckles) (camera person chuckles)
7:23
gotta have just a little bit for the insides.
7:36
Your family is gonna love you for making these.
8:04
You're gonna find that using the yeast
8:08
in this cooking method,
8:10
you're gonna find it easier than regular yeast bread.
8:16
So, I do hope you'll try it. Look at that crispy brown.
