hey y'all you know over the years I
0:02
think one of my most rewarding and fun
0:07
projects that I have been able to do
0:10
over the years is my to children's
0:12
cookbooks it was just wonderful duck
0:18
duck to get down with the kids you know
0:22
and just have fun with them in fact this
0:26
little thing right here that's mine and
0:29
Michael's nice that's um
0:35
that is Lauren these are other children
0:38
I didn't know but weren't they cute but
0:41
this is Lauren our niece Nicky and
0:44
Jodi's daughter and Jordans sister and
0:47
she is getting ready to graduate from
0:51
the University of Georgia right now and
0:53
then she's going into pre-med she's
0:56
gonna become a veterinarian so I just
1:00
love looking at that picture because she
1:03
really hadn't changed a bit she's just
1:05
she's just a little taller
1:06
alright so get the children around the
1:11
phone or computer or whenever you want
1:13
you know because I am make the next two
1:18
recipes I am going to share with y'all
1:20
is out of this cookbook my first
1:25
cookbook and I remember giving Jamie his
1:29
first cookbook when he was six years old
1:31
and if memory serves me right he still
1:35
has it in his library
1:37
yeah alright so this is so simple and
1:41
y'all don't have to cut on the stove my
1:43
little angels so we don't have to worry
1:45
about y'all getting burned
1:47
all right now we're gonna start and if
1:50
children don't know how to read I have
1:53
pictures of things so they can tell by
1:57
the pictures what they're supposed to be
2:01
doing and I'd go home it's not just
2:08
recipes y'all it it's like we touch on
2:16
table manners and things like that that
2:20
I think are just really important for us
2:25
to try to teach our children so when we
2:28
take them out to eat
2:29
they don't make us want to crawl
2:31
underneath the table you know gonna mean
2:33
with embarrassment all right so here we
2:36
go children we've got a half a cup of
2:40
sour cream a small let me see how many
2:45
ounces this is an eight ounce can of
2:49
crushed pineapple that you have dreamed
2:53
then I tell you what we're making we're
2:56
making an ambrosia salad and I know all
3:01
the children out there most of them they
3:03
love their fruit the next thing we're
3:06
gonna put in it is a can 15 ounce can of
3:09
mandarin oranges which has been drained
3:13
[Music]
3:16
let's see how much sweetened coconut is
3:18
then 1/2 a cup of sweetened coconut oh I
3:23
feel like we could almost like being
3:25
Hawaii doing the hula with all these
3:30
ingredients
3:34
all right now boys and girls I'm gonna
3:38
add 1 cup of miniature marshmallows you
3:45
know so you ask your mommy or your daddy
3:47
whoever the cook is in in your house ask
3:51
them if there's anything else
3:54
maybe that y'all could put in this
3:56
recipe to make it really really your
4:00
very own you know you could add cherries
4:05
maraschino cherries yes you could add
4:07
nuts
4:08
you could add raisins you could add
4:10
grapes
4:13
you could add bananas would be wonderful
4:15
sliced in here but you just have to
4:18
remember that you need to toss those in
4:20
a little lemon juice and they go turn
4:22
brown on you quickly but I think how
4:26
easy can you get and when you sit at a
4:30
table tonight with your family you can
4:35
look at everybody and smile and say I
4:41
made that
4:46
and good now enjoy children
