0:00
- I don't know about where y'all live,
0:02
but it's summertime here in the South.
0:06
And we had a lot of requests for baked beans.
0:09
And I feel like I've shared a recipe
0:11
with y'all for baked beans a lot of times,
0:13
but apparently it's been a while.
0:17
So let me tell you what I've done.
0:19
I had six pieces of bacon that I fried crisp,
0:24
and you can see the bacon drippings.
0:27
You want to leave those in your pan,
0:30
and now we're going to saute our onions,
0:34
but just a few minutes,
0:37
because our baked beans are going to bake in the oven.
0:42
So it doesn't need a whole bunch of cooking.
0:47
This is a easy, easy recipe, super easy.
0:56
gone drink up that wonderful bacon flavor.
1:04
That'll be so good in there.
1:06
And then we're going to add yellow mustard,
1:10
maple syrup, and ketchup,
1:17
and one 16 ounce can of pork and beans.
1:26
Alright now, because our bacon is already cooked,
1:31
I'm not gonna put it on top because I don't
1:34
want it to get any darker than that is right there.
1:38
So I'm just going to throw that in
1:39
with my onions and then I'm going to add my baked beans.
1:59
So we just go mix it up together real good.
2:01
And we're going to add our ketchup.
2:05
Some people like to add barbecue sauce.
2:08
In fact, I think the last one I did
2:10
I think I put barbecue sauce
2:12
in it rather than ketchup, so there's several
2:16
several, several ways you can do this.
2:19
- [Eddie] Ya like cowboy beans.
2:22
It's like cowboy baked beans and you know what?
2:24
I actually love bell pepper in my baked beans too.
2:29
So in goes our maple syrup.
2:36
Oh, they're smelling, right?
2:40
Woo. They smell so good.
2:45
- [Eddie] Bacon and onions smell so good.
2:48
- [Paula] It don't get no better.
2:50
I've always said, I wish I could
2:52
invent an air freshener
2:56
it smelt like bacon in onions, cooking.
3:01
I believe it'd be a tremendous seller.
3:03
I think it'd be so popular.
3:07
Okay. So this is nice and bubbly hot.
3:12
So we're just going to pour this in our pan.
3:17
And I think this particular recipe tells us to cook covered,
3:22
but I'll double check that.
3:26
I'll double check and see what that says.
3:35
It does, it say's bake covered for 45 to 60 minutes.
3:42
So I'm just going to put some tinfoil over it..
3:47
I wish they did make lids for this kind of baking dishes,
3:57
Okay I've got my oven preheated to 350 degrees,
4:04
so we're just going to throw these in the oven.
4:08
I'll set the timer for about 45 minutes,
4:13
and then we'll see what we got.
4:19
Now, the instructions on this recipe
4:23
for the baked beans, it said,
4:25
Ooh and they are as hot as all get out.
4:29
It said to cook them covered
4:32
for 45 minutes to 60 minutes, look how hot that is.
4:37
Well after like 30 minutes, I took the tinfoil off
4:42
of this because I wanted it, some of the liquid to absorb.
4:46
So about half way take that foil off.
4:56
Am I losing my beans, Eddie?
5:01
Mm. So this'll be great for on of those
5:06
outdoor cookouts, like Memorial weekend
5:09
it's slipping up on us.
5:11
So, this one's easy-peasy and I know for a fact
5:17
that your guests are gonna like it.
5:19
So love and best dishes y'all, see you soon.
