- Hey everybody, it's Bobby,
0:02
and today we are going to make
0:04
an amazing ranch turkey slider.
0:06
You're gonna love it, and I know what you're thinking.
0:08
You're thinking,
0:09
"Slider? I can make sliders myself."
0:11
Well, this is different and you've never seen it before.
0:13
So let's get started.
0:15
Okay, we're going to begin
0:17
with a little sour cream and mayonnaise
0:23
as the base for our ranch dressing.
0:25
(spoon clinking)
0:31
Mayo, sour cream.
0:34
And these are different in that when, well,
0:40
when I think slider anyway,
0:41
I always think, you know, burger.
0:45
Turkey sliders with cheese, amazing.
0:47
Great combination.
0:48
Ranch, another great combination.
0:51
But then, little dill, everybody.
0:55
Fresh dill smells so good.
0:57
But then we are going to bake them in the oven,
1:01
which might be a little different.
1:02
It's different to me.
1:03
Little parsley.
1:08
Little bit of garlic, salt and pepper.
1:15
So I'm making my ranch.
1:16
Looks real, real good.
1:18
Nice and creamy, mixed up nicely.
1:21
There's nothing like mayonnaise and sour cream together.
1:26
This would actually be good slathered
1:28
on a piece of salmon outta the oven.
1:32
Yep, I made that last night.
1:34
I'm real lucky 'cause my kids are, you know,
1:37
we got four-year-old triplets,
1:38
and boy, can children be picky eaters.
1:41
And I'm real lucky 'cause they all like fish.
1:46
We had salmon for dinner.
1:47
I mean, you know,
1:49
I guess when they're hungry, they'll eat anything.
1:51
It's like, "Hey, here's what you got, you got fish."
1:55
All right, so I've got, oh, I didn't mention
1:58
but I've got the Hawaiian rolls
2:00
like you can imagine from the store.
2:01
And I've got 'em in my baking dish here,
2:05
and I'm just going to slather some of my ranch dressing
2:12
right onto 'em.
2:16
These rolls are, they're kind of amazing, right?
2:22
I think everybody likes the Hawaiian rolls.
2:26
St. Patrick's Day just came and went,
2:28
and I came and went too. (laughs)
2:32
St. Patrick's Day is fun and everything,
2:34
but man, I got to go when that stuff rolls around.
2:38
I lived downtown Savannah for, I don't know, a lot of years,
2:44
and I lived right on the parade route, and-
2:47
- [Teresa] Everybody wanted to come to your house.
2:49
- Oh, but wanted to or did?
2:51
Everybody did come to my house, and we had big fun.
2:54
But can't do that anymore.
2:57
- [Teresa] Be generous with that, Bobby.
2:58
- I'm being very generous with it, Teresa.
3:01
(both laughing)
3:03
- [Teresa] Be your mama.
3:03
- I'm being it. I'm being it.
3:05
I'm gonna be generous with everything we got here.
3:08
The sauce is- - The best part.
3:10
- Yeah, is probably to die for.
3:12
I can tell just looking at it and smelling it
3:13
that it's perfect.
3:15
So, be generous with it.
3:19
So there we go.
3:19
Lemme grab a paper towel real quick.
3:21
So there we go.
3:22
We've got our rolls all covered in our ranch dressing.
3:30
So to that, I'm just gonna go ahead and add our bacon.
3:33
Our bacon, wishful thinking.
3:37
You know why I'm thinking of bacon?
3:38
Is 'cause I have made twice now
3:42
in the last week at my house, a meatloaf.
3:46
And I know, meatloaf?
3:48
No, man.
3:49
My aunt Peggy's meatloaf,
3:50
outta "The Lady & Sons Savannah Country Cookbook",
3:52
it's called Basic Meatloaf.
3:54
- [Teresa] But it's the best.
3:56
- Which means that there's room to do
3:59
whatever you want to, to it.
4:00
My mom has always told me,
4:02
"Go exactly by the recipe the first time,
4:05
and then after that, do whatever you wanna do."
4:07
So I said, "Okay."
4:08
I made my Aunt Peggy's Basic Meatloaf,
4:11
and I was like, "Man, this is so good."
4:14
I don't know how you could really improve on it.
4:16
It really hit the spot for me.
4:18
And so then I made another one a couple of nights later,
4:22
and I put strips of bacon on it. (chuckles)
4:29
I put strips of bacon on it,
4:30
before I baked it in the oven I topped it
4:33
with strips of bacon.
4:36
It elevated it to the stratosphere.
4:40
To the stratosphere.
4:42
Okay, so lots of turkey.
4:45
So I'm really being liberal with everything I got here.
4:47
I'm gonna use this whole pack of, this is just deli turkey.
4:51
And these are things that, you know,
4:55
the kids might join you if you wanna.
4:57
My kids, they're four years old,
4:59
and oh boy, all they want to do is help dad in the kitchen,
5:06
which is great 'cause we got a lot of dishes,
5:09
and I'm like, "Hey, here's where you're gonna start.
5:11
You're gonna start exactly where I did.
5:14
Scrub them pots." (laughs)
5:17
They're getting good at that. - Good.
5:19
- Okay, so we've got our turkey.
5:22
I'm gonna take some Swiss cheese here.
5:23
You know what I could do?
5:24
I could just do this.
5:27
I think I will do that
5:28
because the way that I've got this turkey placed on there,
5:31
I'm gonna have to cut these outta here anyway,
5:35
so I think what I'm gonna do is
5:37
just lay down whole pieces of cheese like that
5:39
rather than carrot.
5:41
And Swiss cheese right on top. Yeah.
5:46
You know what?
5:46
If there was nobody around when this came out the oven,
5:48
I might just stand and eat it
5:49
with a fork and a knife if nobody was watching.
5:53
Little Dijon, Dijon.
5:59
A little Dijon.
6:03
Dijon mustard is, I don't know,
6:09
I said elevate a few minutes ago,
6:10
it just elevates things just a little bit more
6:13
than traditional yellow mustard does.
6:17
Little Dijon.
6:21
(Bobby laughs)
6:22
I can't even see.
6:23
I can't even see where the top should go on here.
6:26
This is gonna be amazing.
6:28
You know what's the only thing we're missing?
6:30
Is if I had a little bit of real soft butter
6:36
right on the top of these.
6:37
I do have little bit of soft butter.
6:40
Soft butter.
6:42
Since we're doing it anyway, we'll just go ahead and do it.
6:48
Ooh.
6:51
- [Teresa] Ask and you shall receive.
6:52
- Ask and you shall, yeah, I'm in Paula Deen's kitchen.
6:54
If I had a little bit of soft butter, mmm.
6:57
Wonder if there might be any anywhere.
7:00
There we have it.
7:02
(lid clanks)
7:03
Looks great.
7:04
Cover it with a little tin foil.
7:06
(tin foil rustling)
7:16
Boom.
7:19
And we're gonna bake this in a 350-degree oven
7:22
for, I don't know, maybe 20 minutes, 25.
7:24
- [Teresa] Actually, the recipe says, "30 to 35."
7:26
- I know, but that's a pro oven.
7:30
That thing cooks real hot.
7:32
So, I'm gonna check it out at 20 minutes.
7:35
So that's it.
7:36
Put our sliders in the oven.
7:37
See you in about 20 minutes.
7:39
Thanks, Teresa.
7:40
- [Teresa] I'm so used to doing it for your mom.
7:42
- We'll be back.
7:43
Hey, check out these sliders.
7:45
Turkey ranch sliders.
7:49
So what we did was we made a little ranch dressing,
7:51
spread it on the bottom layer
7:53
of these Hawaiian rolls down there.
7:56
And I topped it with some deli turkey, some sliced turkey,
7:59
and some Swiss cheese.
8:00
And on the top roll, a little bit of Dijon mustard
8:05
and then, I spread a little bit
8:09
of softened butter right on top of these rolls.
8:11
(exhales sharply) Man alive.
8:14
This smells so good, and I made them so,
8:21
I just layered that turkey
8:23
and cheese just all the way across
8:25
and just made it almost like a casserole,
8:27
so I'm gonna have to cut into it.
8:30
Oh, my goodness.
8:31
Who wants a slider?
8:34
See, now y'all thought when I said I'm gonna make sliders,
8:37
I know there was some eye rolls.
8:39
People were like, (knife clinking)
8:42
"Slider? I can make a slider.
8:45
I don't need you to show me how to make a slider, Chef."
8:51
- [Teresa] Looks good.
8:52
- Man, they look better than good, Teresa.
8:54
- [Teresa] It's an interesting combination on it.
8:56
- Great combination.
8:57
(exhales sharply) Oh, oh, I pulled that out way too fast.
9:03
I need to see that.
9:05
Check it out, Ed.
9:08
Oh, oh, oh.
9:15
- Gooey. - Oh.
9:19
Oh.
9:22
Warm turkey sliders.
9:26
Who wants a turkey slider?
9:27
Anybody else want one?
9:29
- [Teresa] We want you to taste one.
9:30
- Y'all want me to taste one?
9:32
Look at it.
9:34
Ooh, it's hot too.
9:39
- [Teresa] Don't burn your mouth.
9:48
- Two, please.
9:50
(plate clinks)
9:54
I know you laughed when I said I was making sliders,
9:57
but who's laughing now?
10:00
Me.
10:02
So good.
10:04
Okay, bye, y'all.
10:07
