You know, I wanna do a Father's Day message,
0:05
and I thought I'm married
0:07
to one of the best fathers that I know.
0:14
Well, excluding my children's.
0:18
They're all wonderful fathers.
0:21
But I thought, you know, I'm gonna go down
0:22
and include Michael in the message,
0:28
in my Father's Day message.
0:30
So y'all, come on, we're gonna see if he's home.
0:34
The reason I'm down here
0:36
is, you know, it's Father's Day is upon us.
0:40
And I just wanna send out a message
0:42
to all those fathers out there that have followed me
0:46
and given me love and support over the years.
0:50
And I thought, well, what better father
0:53
to share this with than the one I was married to?
0:57
Because I have to say, you have been a wonderful,
1:01
wonderful father to your children and.
1:07
- They turned out so good.
1:10
I think Michelle was 18
1:13
and Anthony was like 15
1:19
- And they were on their way to being good kids,
1:24
but they were certainly at delicate ages then.
1:29
have really been such an addition to my life,
1:38
and I hope I have the bears.
1:41
- Oh, without a doubt, you have.
1:42
- But I just wanna leave this message
1:46
to all the fathers out there,
1:49
how much you're loved and needed and the influence
1:53
that you can have on your children is instrumental.
1:58
And I know it's not an easy job
2:01
because being a parent I think
2:03
is probably one of the hardest jobs out there.
2:06
And I've laughed before
2:09
and I said, you won't know
2:11
until they're about 21 if you did it right or not.
2:15
And then it's too late.
2:17
They're all yours (Paula laughs).
2:20
- They don't come with instructions.
2:22
- No, they don't, honey.
2:23
- And. - They sure don't.
2:25
- What made made my job much easier
2:26
is I had two good kids to work with.
2:30
- So it wasn't really hard to raise two good humans.
2:33
So when I already had two good humans to work with.
2:35
- Well, you know what I have to say, Michael,
2:37
your two children adore the ground that you walk on.
2:44
- And they love your stupid jokes
2:46
and they just laugh their heads off at your stupid jokes.
2:51
- Most everybody loves their daddy.
2:52
Whether they good or bad,
2:53
they're the only daddy they got so.
2:57
- [Paula] It's. - Mine just lucked out
3:00
by having one of the best.
3:03
- And you know, the thing I love about this father
3:07
- [Michael] Yeah. - I love this.
3:09
- [Michael] It's hard to be humble.
3:12
- But I know that you're joking.
3:17
their job made my job easier
3:21
or them being good kids.
3:24
- [Paula] Yeah. - And receptive
3:26
made my job a lot easier to raise good kids.
3:29
Because I started off - Yeah.
3:31
They couldn't get that way
3:32
without a lot of guidance in the formative years.
3:36
So that's the one thing I wanna just remind you fathers,
3:40
how important your role is to the family.
3:51
since I was a young mother
3:54
and my children are now mothers and fathers,
3:57
it has really changed some,
4:00
the fathers have become much more active
4:03
in the raising of children.
4:05
They're playing a bigger role,
4:07
which your role was big to start with
4:12
because of family reasons
4:17
and but I just want y'all to know
4:22
how much y'all are loved and appreciated.
4:26
And I just thought now would be a good time
4:29
to say attaboy on the job well done.
4:33
And those that are not through doing it,
4:35
attaboy, you can do it.
4:38
- [Michael] And don't give up. - Don't ever give up.
4:41
- Yeah. - Don't ever give up.
4:44
So y'all have a happy Father's Day.
4:47
- And - Well thank you.
4:49
- Tell those children to be good to their daddy,
4:53
especially on Father's Day.
4:57
Love and best dishes to you all.
