- Hey, y'all, it's me, Paula.
0:03
And I don't get very many occasions where I say,
0:10
okay girls, y'all can go in the other room
0:12
'cause I wanna talk with y'all's men.
0:16
So today is one of those occasions,
0:19
and I am just coming in to say thank you.
0:24
Thank you for everything that y'all do as a father.
0:28
Your role in a child's life is so very,
0:31
very important because you're looked up to
0:37
from your children and you can guide them and take them
0:46
into wonderful places as they move into adulthood.
0:51
I just want you to know just how important y'all are.
1:00
And it's sad to see so many homes that are fatherless.
1:08
And so an extra shout out for y'all that are involved
1:11
in your children and doing such a great job.
1:16
Everybody thanks y'all.
1:18
And then I have some in my family
1:21
that I would like to thank.
1:23
Michael, Michael being one of 'em.
1:27
Michael has been a wonderful,
1:29
wonderful father to Michelle and Anthony.
1:34
And those kids adore him.
1:40
I've never seen anything like it.
1:44
If he told them, jump off that bridge over there,
1:49
They have that kind of trust in their daddy.
1:53
And the next Happy Father's Day
1:56
would go out to Anthony, Michael's son.
2:03
Anthony is a wonderful father as well.
2:08
He's very involved with his two children,
2:11
with Bennett and Maddie May.
2:15
He has no problem changing diapers
2:17
or mopping the kitchen floor or taking the kids off to play.
2:23
Wonderful, active father.
2:26
All right, so that's Michael and his blood's side.
2:32
I'll move on to mine.
2:38
I want to send out Happy Father's Day to y'all.
2:43
And I would also like to include Brian
2:48
in those Father's Day wishes,
2:51
because all three of y'all
2:53
are so active in your children's lives.
3:00
when I was raising Jamie and Bobby,
3:03
it wasn't like that so much.
3:06
The fathers went off to make a living
3:08
and the mothers were left to do it all.
3:13
But times have certainly changed over the years
3:17
and it's a good change
3:19
because the fathers have realized just how
3:22
important their role is in raising their children.
3:27
And they've all got on board.
3:30
I said Jamie Deen with his three boys,
3:34
if he could have nursed them, he would have.
3:38
That's how active he is in his children.
3:42
And Bobby is the same way.
3:49
Jamie was a father a little earlier than Bobby was.
3:54
So you can imagine Bobby's shock
3:57
at almost 50 being told, well,
4:00
your wife is pregnant with triplets.
4:05
You can imagine the shock that that threw him into.
4:08
But he's a great dad, great dad.
4:15
And something's wrong if he doesn't have one
4:16
up here on his shoulders, and one here in this arm,
4:20
and this hand holding the third one.
4:23
And certainly y'all, last but not least.
4:30
Michael's girl child is so important
4:38
in a family from the father's perspective.
4:43
He's very, a father is very particular
4:46
about who he passes his daughter on to.
4:50
Well, Michael and I could not have handpicked
4:54
a better son-in-law than Daniel Reed.
5:00
We are so proud of Daniel.
5:03
And he and Michelle have been together forever.
5:06
They were, when Michelle was in high school,
5:15
And Daniel didn't have a lot of, I don't wanna say guidance,
5:23
but he didn't have a lot of drive
5:25
of something he wanted to be.
5:29
And Michael knew if he was gonna pass his daughter
5:33
onto another man, that that man better get his act together.
5:39
And Michael brought him down to the docks
5:43
and he started off on the tugboats.
5:46
He made captain and now he is finishing
5:51
up everything that he needs to have to be a harbor pilot.
5:56
So he is doing exactly what his father-in-law has done
6:02
So he has special favor in Michael's eyes,
6:08
and he tries to do it all from making the living
6:13
to helping Michelle and to raising two incredible young men.
6:20
out there that have been wonderful fathers.
6:23
And to all of y'all, I wish a Happy Father's Day,
6:27
but especially to you out there that maybe I've never met
6:32
but have watched and supported me through the years.
6:37
Just know that in my heart, y'all have a very special place.
6:42
Y'all have a wonderful, wonderful, Happy Father's Day
6:45
and God bless and give them love and best dishes.
6:49
Dads, remember that, love and best dishes.
6:56
