- Hey y'all, it's Paula
0:01
and I'm still in my grandson's, Jack, studio
0:05
where he films his podcast Jack Deen's Book Nook.
0:09
And he just had a fabulous idea.
0:11
We were standing up he re talking about it.
0:13
Tell him what you have thought about.
0:16
So I really just wanted to be able to come on
0:19
and talk about some books that I reviewed
0:21
in the past couple of episodes
0:23
and really just give you guys a teaser
0:25
of what's going on over at my channel.
0:26
And if you wanna hear any more extra about these books
0:28
then you can come over to my channel and check it out.
0:30
- Yeah, and get the real depth.
0:35
Jack says he's gonna do this once a month for us and
0:41
I like the idea to Jack of
0:44
what's the first book you going to talk about
0:52
- Yes, "The Body" by Stephen King.
0:53
So this is a book that I just finished
0:57
pretty soon, I guess, like last week.
0:59
And I'm really, really enjoyed this one.
1:02
So even though I have three books today
1:03
and two of them are Stephen King books,
1:05
I really just want to emphasize that
1:07
even though they're by the same offer author,
1:09
they're completely different books.
1:11
So this book is really about four 12-year old boys
1:14
who hear that there's a dead body
1:16
somewhere along a railroad tracks.
1:18
So they go and they go investigate and try to find it out.
1:21
And it's really a coming of age story.
1:23
And in a time where I'm really thinking a lot
1:25
about my childhood and how much,
1:26
you know, I'm missing what childhood into me,
1:28
and this is really about childhood and becoming adults.
1:31
So it's something that I really enjoyed a lot.
1:34
- So for More in-depth,
1:37
he'll be reviewing that book
1:39
on Jack Deen's Book Nook.
1:42
- All right, what age would you recommend for that, Jack?
1:45
- I would say this one is probably 16 and up,
1:48
probably all of these books are 16 and up.
1:50
- Just for this batch right here,
1:52
but I do have a lot of extra kids reviews on my channel
1:54
if you want to go check those out as well.
1:56
If you have like grandchildren
1:57
or if you're younger, you can watch those.
2:00
- So my next book that I wanted to speak about
2:02
is called "How Lucky" by Will Leitch.
2:04
And this is novel I also just read pretty recently
2:07
and I really enjoyed this one as well.
2:09
So it's a funny suspenseful novel about a young man
2:12
who lives in a wheelchair for his whole life
2:15
and he sees a kidnapping happen right outside of his window
2:20
And it's very suspense,
2:21
I enjoyed it a lot for that reason.
2:23
And really it's well done
2:25
in the sense of the narrator sense,
2:27
I really enjoyed it for the character development
2:30
that's why I thought it was an amazing novel.
2:31
- Wonderful, what age for that?
2:33
- Just 16 and up, like everything.
2:36
- So my last book I'm gonna be reviewing today
2:38
is "Fairytale" by Stephen King.
2:40
Another Stephen King book,
2:41
who's an author I've been enjoying more and more
2:43
as I continue to read his work.
2:45
It's really beautifully done.
2:46
This book is a fantasy novel about a boy who finds a portal,
2:51
there's a man named Mr. Boes who's giving him errands
2:54
and he finds a portal inside of his shed
2:56
that takes him to a completely new world
2:58
with a bunch of different fantasy elements,
3:00
and Fantasy's my favorite genre.
3:01
So if you're like me, and this will be a good book for you.
3:04
It's pretty big, as you can tell, 600 pages.
3:06
So this is the best one for serious readers.
3:09
I have a really big review on it on my channel.
3:11
So if you wanna go over there and check it out.
3:12
For all these books I have different reviews,
3:14
you can check out if you want a more in-depth review
3:16
before you go and buy it.
3:18
- So I would love to invite y'all
3:20
over to Jack Deen's Book Nook Podcast,
3:25
where he gets really in-depth with his book reviews.
3:30
This was just a little taste, wasn't it, Jack?
3:32
Just a little taste of the butter.
