hey y'all i'm jamie dean and today we're
0:08
making mayonnaise
0:09
i love mayonnaise i'm from south georgia
0:12
it's birthright i've been around so long
0:15
that was i was in junior high school
0:18
it was called homec i think it's called
0:20
home development training
0:21
procedures now it was home act when i
0:23
was in junior high school and we made
0:25
our own mayonnaise
0:26
it gave us a jar and all the ingredients
0:29
and we shook it
0:30
and shook it and shook it it took an
0:32
hour so nobody
0:33
bothered anybody else we all sat there
0:35
sweating shaking over our mayonnaise
0:38
well i'm older now more tired
0:41
more sore and too busy i'm using a food
0:44
processor and a few simple ingredients
0:46
let me show you how easy this is
0:48
we're going to start with three big
0:52
beautiful egg yolks
0:55
uno dos
0:58
trace and to this
1:02
one teaspoon of dijon mustard
1:15
i'll give this a quick pulse just to get
1:17
these ingredients incorporated together
1:24
and to this i'm going to add one
1:28
and a quarter cup of the cleanest
1:32
oil you can find and we're gonna add
1:34
this
1:35
as slow as you can
1:46
you see how slow i'm pouring this the
1:48
measuring cup is rendered
1:50
useless it's dripping off the bottom
1:53
but it's important because eggs break so
1:56
easily
1:57
and we want to incorporate as much air
1:59
into this as we can
2:05
okay now that that is set up so nicely
2:08
to this we're gonna squeeze
2:09
a little bit of lemon juice
2:14
juice from about half a lemon going in
2:16
there and we're gonna add a little bit
2:17
of salt
2:20
a little pinch of pepper
2:23
give that a quick quilt
2:27
and look at that homemade mayonnaise
2:32
make your grandmama proud with this one
2:34
it's not easy
2:35
but it's worth it your sandwich will
2:37
appreciate it
2:38
thanks for coming back y'all for more
