well hey y'all how are you today come on
0:02
in the kitchen with me I just want to
0:05
share my feelings with you for a minute
0:07
you know there's nothing like the smell
0:09
of baked treats to get everybody in the
0:12
kitchen so today I'm gonna be starting
0:15
off with some decadent orange brownies
0:17
with an orange cream cheese frosting and
0:20
then it's the sweetest white chocolate
0:24
coconut cookies you ever popped in your
0:27
mouth and then it's my best
0:30
Fred pudding recipe so join me in the
0:33
kitchen cuz today I've pure got the
0:36
bacon fever
0:39
I want to start off by sharing a
0:42
fabulous orange brownie recipe with you
0:45
I'm gonna start by measuring out a cup
0:48
and a half of flour want to level that
0:53
off because you know when you're baking
0:56
unlike when you're just regular cooking
0:58
when you're baking it's so important for
1:01
you're measuring to be very precise
1:05
because baking it definitely is a
1:08
formula so you'll want to make sure that
1:12
you're very very accurate now want to
1:15
measure in two cups of sugar and if
1:20
y'all think a brownie mix from the
1:23
grocery store is easy this is just as
1:27
easy as if you had a mix alright the
1:35
next ingredient to go in our Bowl is two
1:38
sticks of softened butter so that tells
1:43
you right off the bat this is gonna be a
1:46
very very moist brownie and I'm gonna do
1:50
about a teaspoon of salt and now we're
1:53
just gonna crack four eggs into our
1:57
flour sugar and butter and I'm breaking
2:01
my eggs separately into a another Bowl
2:05
because I want to make sure that I don't
2:07
add a bad egg to the bunch
2:18
all right there we go now I'm gonna add
2:21
a teaspoon of orange zest into our
2:29
batter and now I'm going to add two
2:35
teaspoons of orange extract and we're
2:43
just gonna beat these up okay so you can
2:47
see that this is almost like just a
2:50
jumping me good and that's all it takes
2:59
you can see it requires very very little
3:02
beating and our batter is together just
3:05
that quick and look at that pretty
3:08
batter you can see the pieces of zest in
3:11
it mmm and it tastes wonderful y'all now
3:18
I'm gonna put this into a 13 by 9 by 2
3:21
baking dish that's already been greased
3:25
normally I would bake this at 350 but
3:27
because we're cooking it in glass we're
3:30
going to lower our temperature to 325
3:32
degrees for about 30 minutes or until
3:36
it's a nice beautiful light brown and
3:40
until it's set you want it baked all the
3:43
way through so just that quickly we've
3:49
gotten our brownies together instead of
3:52
brownies we need to call him oranges
3:55
though I think so in it goes and
4:00
hopefully in 30 minutes we're gonna have
4:03
a beautiful light perfectly satiny now
4:10
while those are baking let's come over
4:12
here and make our cream cheese icing and
4:14
it's just a standard cream cheese icing
4:17
that calls for one eight ounce package
4:21
of cream cheese and we're gonna put in a
4:24
half a stick of softened butter
4:30
next we're gonna add two tablespoons of
4:35
orange zest and you'll want to be
4:38
careful when you're zest in your orange
4:40
that you don't go very deeply into that
4:43
skin because if you go deep it has a
4:46
very very bitter taste to it
4:49
all right so in goes 2 tablespoons of
4:52
the zest to this we're going to add 1 16
4:58
ounce box of powdered sugar the powdered
5:01
sugar will really break down as soon as
5:04
we put our liquid in it and that goes I
5:11
change my beaters around now I'm gonna
5:19
slowly add two tablespoons of fresh
5:24
squeezed orange juice to give us the
5:27
spreading consistency that we're gonna
5:29
need for this frosting and of course if
5:33
you've done any baking at all you'll
5:36
know that a little liquid with powdered
5:39
sugar goes a very very long way so you
5:42
don't want to make it too thin
5:49
all right so there we go I think our
5:52
consistency is perfect as it sits here
5:55
it'll tighten up a little bit there we
6:00
go I wish you kids were here so I could
6:03
give you one of these beaters so you
6:06
could lick a beater but I'll do it for
6:10
you how's that oh it's so good when we
6:14
come back I'm gonna pull that brownie
6:16
out we're gonna frost it and then I've
6:18
got a great cookie recipe for you I
6:21
think you're gonna love it it involves
6:24
coconut and later it's the best bread
6:27
pudding y'all leaves you ever put in
6:29
your mouth
6:29
I so hope y'all are enjoying the show
6:33
and if you do be sure to click like
6:36
subscribe and the notification bell so
6:40
you'll never miss a video and we'll be
6:43
right back after the break hey y'all
6:49
welcome back so glad that you came back
6:52
with me for those that have just popped
6:55
in we are having a great time in our
6:58
kitchen today today is all about bacon
7:01
and I've got some orange brownies in the
7:04
oven it's time to take those out and I'm
7:08
gonna just sit these down here on this
7:10
end and let them cool because if I put
7:17
that cream-cheese icing on them right
7:19
now it would just melt and just run
7:22
everywhere so while we're waiting on
7:23
those to cool let's get started on our
7:26
cookie and this is called a white
7:28
chocolate coconut cookie I'm going to
7:31
start by measuring out 2 and 1/4 cups of
7:35
all-purpose flour so that's one cup two
7:41
cups and that's gonna finish off our
7:46
flour I'm gonna add 1 teaspoon of baking
7:52
powder and we're using this because
7:55
we're using an all-purpose flour so
7:59
we're gonna need to add the ingredients
8:00
it's gonna make it fluffy and make
8:03
rise and now i'm going to add one
8:05
teaspoon of soda and about a half a
8:10
teaspoon of salt now i'm just going to
8:16
take a whisk and just blend those
8:18
ingredients together and now we're going
8:23
to come up here and we're going to make
8:25
the creamed mixture that we're going to
8:28
be adding our flour to and our creamed
8:31
mixture is going to start with two
8:34
sticks of butter that's come to room
8:37
temperature it's nice and soft fourths
8:39
and then a half a cup of light brown
8:42
sugar now we're just going to cream our
8:45
ingredients together until they're nice
8:49
and fluffy
8:56
alright there we've done it nice and
8:59
fluffy now I'm gonna break one egg and
9:07
add that now we're gonna take our dry
9:16
ingredients and we're gonna slowly add
9:19
that to our creamed butter and sugars
9:29
and you can see that this is gonna be a
9:31
real thick stiff batter almost like an
9:36
oatmeal cookie okay
9:38
the last of our flour now we're gonna
9:48
fold in 1 cup of oats and then 3/4 of a
9:54
cup of grated coconut okie doke and
10:05
we're gonna add one teaspoon of vanilla
10:08
flavoring so we're just gonna fold this
10:14
in now I'm gonna use a very small ice
10:24
cream scoop because you'll want to make
10:27
sure they'll all bake evenly
10:30
so you'll make sure that you're real
10:33
precise in the measuring out of your
10:36
cookies
10:47
now we're gonna put our cookies in the
10:50
oven 350 degrees for 10 minutes and they
10:54
look delicious don't they so in the oven
10:58
that goes let's move on over here
11:02
because our brownies have cooled off
11:04
they're cool enough for me to frost them
11:07
now so let's just put that wonderful
11:12
cream cheese and orange frosting on top
11:16
of our brownies that look delicious all
11:29
right we just want to spread that evenly
11:36
okay so there we go
11:39
it looks beautiful all right let's cut
11:43
into our brownies now I'm so ready to
11:48
taste these brownies gently lift out
11:53
that first brownie done that look good
12:05
mmm and I think I'm gonna throw a couple
12:08
of kumquats
12:10
on my plate oh and we almost forgot our
12:15
vegetables a little mint let's give it a
12:23
taste
12:24
come on in here with me now get up close
12:30
get up close so I can reach your mouth
12:38
mmm out of this world will we come back
12:42
I want to share a recipe with you that I
12:45
call the best ever bread pudding and
12:49
then I cookies should be ready too and
12:51
then we're gonna ice them with a white
12:52
chocolate and some more coconut and
12:54
we'll be sampling those too so don't go
12:56
anywhere cuz Paul is in the kitchen
12:58
baking today y'all I hope y'all are
13:01
enjoying this show and I want to hear
13:04
from you tell me what recipes or videos
13:06
you'd like to see me make by just
13:08
leaving a short comment below now let's
13:12
get back to the show y'all hey y'all
13:18
while we were on break I kept working
13:20
our cookies were ready I took them out
13:23
of the oven while y'all were gone I
13:25
toasted off some coconut and in my
13:28
double boiler I have melted 8 ounces of
13:31
white chocolate now all we're gonna do
13:34
is frost our cookie and then I'm gonna
13:40
come over here and I'm gonna sprinkle it
13:43
with toasted coconut if you want to you
13:49
can do this a couple of different ways
13:50
you can frost the whole cookie if you
13:54
want to and that's simple enough to do
14:00
you just take your chocolate spread it
14:02
around over your cookie and then
14:05
sprinkle it with the coconut don't these
14:08
look delicious and they just look a
14:11
little different from you know your
14:13
ordinary coconut cookie and you can't go
14:17
wrong with coconut and white chocolate
14:23
so there we go
14:25
I'm gonna let them sit here and dry
14:28
while we get our bread pudding together
14:30
I'm gonna start by cubing up 3 cups of
14:35
just an Italian bread that I've let sit
14:38
out on the counter to just kind of get
14:41
stale for me all right now for the
14:45
custard I've got 5 eggs that I've
14:49
cracked in this bowl and to our
14:51
we're gonna add two cups of sugar one
15:02
two all right I'm gonna whisk our eggs
15:07
and our sugar together and then I'm
15:12
gonna pour in two cups of milk all right
15:19
so we've got that mixed up good now I'm
15:22
gonna add two teaspoons of vanilla
15:24
flavoring and we're gonna toss this in
15:31
the bowl with our bread all right I'm
15:35
getting a spoon I think I can work a
15:37
little bit better now with the spoon all
15:41
right so over our bread that goes I'm
15:49
just gonna stir that up and I'm pouring
15:55
that into a 13 by 9 by 2 container
15:59
that's been greased i greased it all up
16:03
real good with butter and I'm gonna make
16:06
a layer using a 1/2 a cup of brown sugar
16:12
all right the next thing I'm gonna add
16:16
is a half a stick of butter and I'm
16:24
gonna take a fork and I'm just gonna mix
16:29
our butter and our sugar together all
16:33
right now I'm gonna toss in 1 cup of
16:36
chopped pecans all right back with my
16:41
fork I'm gonna kind of cut those in and
16:43
just mix those nuts and with that brown
16:47
sugar and butter now I'm just gonna take
16:52
this and I'm just gonna sprinkle it all
16:55
on top of our custard
17:05
alright there we go alright this is
17:09
ready to go in the oven we're gonna bake
17:11
it for about 35 minutes on 350 degrees
17:14
and before you know it we're gonna have
17:16
this beautiful golden-brown
17:20
puffy bread pudding ready so that's 350
17:28
at 35 minutes now let's come back over
17:32
here and let's see how our cookies
17:35
turned out and you know I'm gonna pick
17:40
out a cookie
17:41
that's not just half frosted that's all
17:44
the way frosted with that white
17:45
chocolate great-grammy's is so good
17:58
I wish y'all were right here in the
18:00
kitchen with me to sample one when we
18:02
come back we're gonna finish that bread
18:04
pudding and we're gonna top it with a
18:06
wonderful sauce
18:08
I so hope y'all are enjoying the show
18:11
and if you do be sure to click like
18:14
subscribe and the notification bell so
18:18
you'll never miss a video
18:20
and we'll be right back after the break
18:24
[Music]
18:26
ok I'll see y'all out there and I bet
18:29
your mouth is watering look at this
18:33
bread pudding it looks fabulous now if
18:38
you're unsure or not whether it's done
18:40
you can use the old toothpick trick and
18:43
mine is done just right let's make our
18:48
brandy sauce I'm gonna use 1 cup of
18:51
sugar and a half a cup of melted butter
19:00
as anybody been keeping track with how
19:06
much butter I've used today but you know
19:10
what you can't bake without butter I'm
19:14
gonna beat my egg up in here and then
19:18
I'm gonna just stir this together now
19:21
you'll want to be careful when you add
19:23
alcohol you'll want to make sure you
19:26
either cut your fire off or you move
19:29
your pot away from the fire and I'm
19:32
gonna pour in our brandy that was a
19:35
fourth of a cup all right back over the
19:41
fire that goes and that looks perfect
19:45
then we'll cut the far off and like I
19:48
said I'm gonna bring it over here and
19:50
I'm gonna put in a teaspoon of vanilla
19:53
flavoring
20:00
all right so let's bring our brandy
20:04
sauce over here and I'm just gonna pour
20:07
it on top of our bread pudding and that
20:15
was so easy to pull together all right
20:22
I've got me a bowl right here ready to
20:28
fix me up a serving and look in here
20:32
y'all come in here so you can see when I
20:35
dip this up
20:44
you know I just adore bread and this
20:48
dish is truly having the best of both
20:52
worlds the bread and the sugar look at
21:00
that wonderful sauce in there and you
21:02
can see the brown sugar and the butter
21:05
and the pecans it's made that nice crust
21:12
mmm sometimes I could just pure cry when
21:17
I'm eating these desserts
21:22
so good I've had a wonderful time with
