you know i have to say i think probably
0:02
one of our favorite meals in our house
0:05
involves eggs breakfast we just adore
0:08
breakfast
0:09
so today i'm starting with a scrumptious
0:12
breakfast in a cup then it's a delicious
0:15
hash brown quiche
0:16
which is perfect with my white hot
0:19
chocolate
0:20
my tasty ultimate coffee cake will
0:23
certainly hit the spot and you can't go
0:25
wrong with my easy omelette for a crowd
0:27
so y'all put on your fuzzy slippers and
0:29
get ready for a breakfast
0:31
egg extravaganza
0:35
i have found that one of the favorite
0:37
things that i fix for my overnight guest
0:40
is breakfast in a cup i'm gonna put
0:42
together grits
0:44
eggs sausage and cheese but i'm going to
0:46
serve it
0:47
in a cup now i've got two cups of water
0:50
boiling right here
0:51
i'm going to add a little salt to it
0:54
and then i'm going to stir in a half a
0:57
cup
0:58
of quick cooking grits now don't use the
1:00
long
1:01
cooking grits because they'll take about
1:03
30 minutes
1:04
if i have the time i'll cook
1:07
my quick grits for up to 30 minutes the
1:10
longer you cook them the creamier
1:12
and softer they get now you'll want to
1:15
immediately start stirring your grits
1:18
one of the mistakes that people make
1:20
when they're cooking grits
1:21
is they'll dump them in and walk away
1:24
and of course you'll wind up with golf
1:26
balls if you do that so we want to stir
1:28
our grits
1:29
into our boiling water until they come
1:31
back to a ball
1:33
and then we're going to put this on
1:34
simmer and i'm going to add a little bit
1:37
of butter
1:38
to those that'll help make them creamy
1:40
and tasty
1:42
and those are looking good no clumps
1:46
all right now i'm gonna turn that down a
1:48
little bit
1:49
and i'm gonna cook eggs two different
1:51
ways this morning i want to show you a
1:54
quick and easy way
1:55
in case you don't have an egg poacher
1:57
that you can poach
1:59
the perfect beautiful egg now in this
2:01
pot i got some hot water
2:03
i'm going to just turn that up so it can
2:05
come back to a bowl
2:07
i'm going to add a little salt to it
2:10
and i'm going to pour in some vinegar
2:12
and the vinegar
2:15
will help draw your egg up
2:18
all right so for poaching our egg i'm
2:20
going gonna crack an egg
2:22
into a separate dish because you want to
2:24
check out your eggs and make sure that
2:26
they're all right
2:27
before i start swirling them into the
2:31
water
2:34
i'm gonna get a swirl going in that
2:36
water and then i'm gonna drop my
2:38
egg into that rolling swirling water
2:42
for an over medium egg you're looking at
2:44
probably about three minutes
2:47
now since these are getting about the
2:50
right consistency i'm going to add a
2:52
little bit of my half and half
2:54
stir that in and look how creamy
2:58
you can see that they're getting a lot
3:02
creamier look to them
3:05
okay so our grits are perfect our egg is
3:08
ready it's got that yellow soft yellow
3:11
center
3:12
but the whites are done so i'm going to
3:14
leave that right there now let's go on
3:16
to our scrambled eggs for those that
3:19
like scrambled eggs for breakfast so
3:25
i'm just gonna crack two eggs
3:30
all right those eggs look nice
3:33
so i'm going to add a little salt a
3:36
little pepper
3:38
and instead of adding milk to my eggs
3:41
i like to add a little water because it
3:45
just seems to make them less tough and
3:47
i'm going to add a spoonful of sour
3:49
cream
3:50
to me the sour cream just makes for a
3:53
creamier egg
3:55
and i've got my pan on low
4:01
about a teaspoon of butter now i'm gonna
4:04
just
4:05
pour in our eggs and i like my eggs
4:09
cooked a little on the slow side
4:13
i'm just going to take my spoon and just
4:16
work the egg out to the edge almost like
4:18
i would
4:19
if i was cooking an omelet
4:23
and that's coming together nicely now
4:26
in my other pot i've got our breakfast
4:29
meat
4:30
i'm using a regular country sausage
4:34
now let's take everything that we've
4:35
gotten together we've got our scrambled
4:38
eggs we've got our grits
4:40
we've got our our sausage
4:45
now i like to serve my breakfast in a
4:48
cup and
4:49
a glass mug so that you can see
4:52
everything that's layered in there
4:54
so i'm gonna start with grits
4:57
and the bulk of my breakfast is going to
5:00
be the grits
5:02
because down south we eat
5:05
we eat a lot of grits our plate is
5:07
mainly taken up
5:09
by the grits that we put on it all right
5:11
so into the other cup
5:13
goes the rest of the grits
5:16
okay so then um on goes to sausage
5:21
or bacon or ham whatever meat you prefer
5:27
and then goes the egg
5:31
and this one's going to get the poached
5:33
egg and
5:34
this one is going to get the scrambled
5:36
eggs
5:40
i'm going to add just a little of my
5:41
scrambled since i didn't poach but one
5:44
egg
5:46
all right and the last thing going on is
5:49
our cheese
5:54
and then a little fresh parsley
6:01
so what do you say if i slip a little
6:04
taste
6:05
out
6:10
this is my favorite way to eat breakfast
6:14
y'all don't go anywhere because when we
6:16
come back i want to show y'all a
6:18
delicious quick and easy quiche
6:20
and it's not gonna have a flour crust
6:23
but a hash brown crust
6:25
and i'm gonna be making white hot
6:27
chocolate so y'all don't go anywhere
6:30
i so hope y'all are enjoying the show
6:33
and
6:33
if you do be sure to click like
6:36
subscribe and the notification bell so
6:39
you'll
6:40
never miss a video and we'll be right
6:42
back after the break
6:48
well i'm so glad to see that y'all came
6:50
back
6:51
i just went out into the garden and
6:53
picked some fresh mint
6:55
because i'm gonna be putting up that on
6:57
top of our white hot chocolate
7:00
but before we get started on that i want
7:02
to show you this
7:03
wonderful quiche and it doesn't have
7:06
your standard
7:07
pastry crust we're going to use a hash
7:10
brown potato
7:11
and i've got three cups a store bought
7:15
frozen hash brown and i'm gonna put just
7:18
a little salt
7:20
and a little pepper just season them up
7:24
a little bit
7:25
and then i'm gonna toss them in a half a
7:28
stick of melted butter
7:30
and that's gonna help bind them together
7:35
all right so we're gonna toss those in
7:37
and i've got my pie plate over here
7:40
and i'm gonna spray it with a little
7:43
nonstick
7:44
spray all right now all we're going to
7:48
do
7:48
is just toss our hash browns
7:51
into my pie plate and i'm going to press
7:54
these down
7:56
forming them in my dish like a crust
8:00
and just keep pressing and working it
8:02
around
8:04
so that's pressed in there nice and firm
8:07
so let's get this popped in the oven
8:12
25 minutes at 450 degrees
8:16
now i've got one that's already browned
8:19
up for us
8:24
and look at that you can see the
8:26
crispiness
8:28
going on with those potatoes now while
8:31
i'm waiting on that to cool
8:32
let's step down here and start on
8:36
our white hot chocolate and to our
8:39
saucepan i'm gonna add one cup
8:41
of white chocolate chips that sounds
8:45
like a great start doesn't it y'all
8:49
i'm gonna add one cup of heavy cream
8:53
so see it sounds sinful doesn't it
8:57
all right now i'm just gonna stir these
8:59
together
9:04
until that melts which won't take long
9:07
at all
9:08
and while i'm waiting for those to melt
9:11
let's put together the
9:12
center of our quiche now you can
9:16
you can use your favorite ingredients
9:18
i've got
9:19
ham and i'm going to use about
9:21
three-fourths a cup
9:24
okay that looks like about
9:25
three-quarters of a cup
9:27
and i'm gonna use about a half a cup of
9:30
diced green onions
9:32
and it looks like about three onions are
9:35
gonna be
9:37
just right now i'm gonna take three eggs
9:40
oops
9:41
one fell out of the basket you can
9:44
always increase your eggs
9:46
and the amount of your other ingredients
9:48
and make your quiche thicker
9:50
but i think three eggs are gonna work
9:52
nicely some salt
9:55
some pepper
9:59
now we're just gonna beat those up
10:03
and to our eggs we're gonna add one cup
10:05
of half and half
10:10
i'm gonna toss in our green onions
10:15
in goes our ham last we're gonna toss
10:18
in our cheese and i'm just using a nice
10:22
sharp cheddar cheese all right
10:30
that looks great now we're just going to
10:31
pour this into our crust
10:38
now we're going to want to lower our
10:40
oven temperature
10:41
to 350 degrees
10:45
we're not going to need to bake this as
10:48
high
10:48
as we did our crust and that'll take
10:51
about
10:51
30 minutes so back in the oven it goes
11:00
and it'll be ready before we know it now
11:03
let's jump back on our hot chocolate
11:05
our chips are starting to melt so i'm
11:08
gonna add
11:09
four cups or one quart of half and half
11:15
and we're just gonna let that simmer
11:18
until it's
11:19
nice and hot oh and it smells so
11:22
good all right so we'll just give that a
11:25
couple of minutes
11:26
all right i think we're safe now to add
11:28
our vanilla
11:30
y'all here ladybird out there
11:34
all right one teaspoon of vanilla if
11:37
you're entertaining a crowd
11:40
this would be great to put in your crock
11:42
pot
11:44
and keep it warm so that people could
11:47
just come
11:47
and dip out their own so here we go
11:57
[Music]
11:59
look at that i don't think we can have
12:03
a cup of hot chocolate without a nice
12:06
dollop of heavy cream
12:14
and a sprig of mint from my garden
12:19
all right and instead of using just a
12:21
plain
12:22
old stirrer for this i'm going to use a
12:26
fresh vanilla bean
12:30
and if you want to bring a little color
12:33
to it
12:34
you can sprinkle it with some nice
12:36
grated chocolate
12:38
or you can top it with some grated
12:41
white chocolate
12:44
it's unbelievable y'all so why don't you
12:48
go into the kitchen see if you've got
12:49
the stuff to make this
12:51
because i want to share with y'all a
12:52
recipe for an ultimate
12:54
coffee cake and later my omelette folk
12:57
crowd is sure to get that family
13:00
moving i hope y'all are enjoying the
13:03
show
13:04
and i want to hear from you tell me what
13:06
recipes or videos you'd like to see me
13:08
make
13:09
by just leaving a short comment below
13:12
now let's get back to the show y'all
13:18
well y'all while we were on break i have
13:21
been a busy
13:22
busy beaver look at this i have got food
13:26
strung from one end of this counter to
13:27
the other
13:28
all right now our quiche is ready so why
13:31
don't we pull that out
13:32
first thing
13:36
oh gosh it smells good
13:41
look at that those potatoes those hash
13:45
brown potatoes y'all
13:46
have just like made a nest
13:49
all right let's cut into it and see what
13:52
we've got
13:53
you can see it's done because we pulled
13:55
out a nice clean knife
14:02
look at that isn't that pretty
14:09
i think a little dollop of sour cream
14:12
and that'll go
14:12
perfectly with the potatoes and a few
14:15
sprinkles of onions and we're
14:17
ready to dig in
14:28
it's just perfect i could stand down
14:32
here and eat that whole piece
14:34
but come on down here cause i told you i
14:35
have got food spread
14:38
from one end of this counter to the
14:39
other and one of the things i think that
14:42
you're gonna
14:42
love is called an ultimate coffee cake
14:46
now i'm gonna start with a frozen yeast
14:50
roll that you get
14:51
in the frozen food section at your
14:53
grocery store now i'm gonna take my
14:55
bundt
14:55
pan and i'm gonna give it a light spray
14:58
so we're just gonna drop this down in
15:01
our bundt pan
15:03
so you'll need to have a little planning
15:05
going on
15:06
when you serve this dish because it's
15:09
gonna take
15:09
about eight to ten hours for this to
15:12
rise
15:13
so right before you hop in the bed just
15:16
put your rolls in
15:18
just like that now
15:21
we're gonna use one small package of
15:25
butterscotch
15:26
pudding mix and we're just going to
15:28
sprinkle
15:30
this pudding mix right on top of those
15:33
rolls and now on top of that we're going
15:36
to add
15:38
a half a cup of chopped pecans just
15:41
all around our rolls now we're gonna add
15:45
a half a cup of brown sugar
15:48
and i want to pack it down in there
15:51
sprinkle that around and then
15:55
the last step is one stick of melted
15:58
butter
15:58
and we're just gonna pour that over our
16:01
rolls and our pudding mix
16:03
and our brown sugar and our pecans
16:07
and it's looking great
16:11
bring it down here and
16:14
cover it with a clean dish cloth
16:17
and let it just sit on the counter for
16:20
eight to ten
16:21
hours so sleep tight my little baby
16:25
come on down here i've got one that has
16:28
been rising
16:30
and you can see that it's more than
16:32
doubled
16:33
in size so we're going to pop this in
16:36
the oven at 350
16:38
and we're going to let it bake for 30
16:40
minutes
16:46
so in that goes now while that's baking
16:49
i want to show y'all an easy easy way
16:53
to make omelets for a crowd you can
16:56
involve your family and friends in the
16:58
making
16:59
of their own individual omelets now i've
17:02
got
17:03
all kind of ingredients up here so all
17:06
i'm gonna do
17:07
is take my eggs
17:11
and break them into a bowl
17:15
this is just the most fun way to
17:18
entertain
17:19
at brunch time y'all
17:24
and i'm gonna bust enough eggs that i
17:26
know will feed the whole crowd
17:29
i'm gonna put some salt
17:33
and some pepper
17:40
all right so our eggs are in a big bowl
17:42
beaten up
17:43
and ready for everybody all of our
17:46
ingredients are
17:47
surrounding our pot when we come back
17:50
i'm going to fill up
17:51
a bag with my favorite ingredients for
17:54
an omelette
17:54
and show you how easy it is to
17:57
serve an omelet to a crowd of folks
18:02
i so hope you all are enjoying the show
18:04
and
18:05
if you do be sure to click like
18:08
subscribe and the notification bell so
18:11
you'll never miss a video
18:13
and we'll be right back after the break
18:19
hey y'all welcome back let me get the
18:21
coffee cake out of the oven
18:25
look at this ultimate coffee cake would
18:27
you
18:30
all right i'm gonna i'm gonna press him
18:33
down cause you can see that those
18:35
uh yeast rolls they each rose
18:39
to a different size which is kind of fun
18:42
and funky so i'm gonna just do it this
18:45
way
18:52
[Music]
18:54
look look at that y'all
18:58
is that not a beautiful coffee cake
19:01
all right well let's run back down here
19:03
to our omelets now i'm using a strong
19:06
resealable plastic bag and i found a mug
19:10
up in the cabinet that fits
19:12
just perfectly so that it will just give
19:14
me a strong
19:15
base to make my omelette in now i'm
19:18
going to start with a little of my
19:19
beaten egg
19:22
and this is the fun part
19:26
i think that for mine i'm gonna put
19:30
spinach and bacon
19:35
and i'm gonna reach over there and get
19:38
me some cheese
19:43
look at that i'm gonna let that air out
19:46
of that bag
19:48
and then just kind of squish it together
19:50
and then i'm gonna drop it in my boiling
19:52
water
19:53
and in about eight to ten minutes i'm
19:56
gonna have a delicious
19:57
omelet
20:00
in fact you ready to see what they look
20:02
like
20:05
look at that is that not
20:08
great all right i'm going to come over
20:10
here and get me a little
20:12
little cheese to garnish it with
20:15
a little parsley from my garden
20:20
and what you say let's go down here and
20:22
get us a piece of that ultimate coffee
20:25
cake
20:30
about right here oh it smells so
20:33
butterscotchy
20:36
and look at the nuts
20:39
looks yummy
20:44
look at that that omelet looks like a
20:47
professional
20:48
omelet maker made it this one has
20:51
black olives in it and red bell peppers
20:55
and tomatoes
20:58
um everybody is gonna have a ball
21:01
putting together their omelets
21:10
you're not gonna believe what that
21:11
butterscotch pudding does to that
21:14
it made like a caramel syrup
21:19
so what do y'all think hadn't it been an
21:21
extravagant day today
21:23
i hope your egg baskets are full of
