Okay, bakers, you know what

There's some good tips to frosting a cake that I'm going to share with you today that you may or may not already know
0:11
I've got a cake pan here, and I've got two ready cakes
0:15
so I'm going to make a double-layer cake. Here's a good way to start. Take a little bit of your frosting
0:20
pop it right into the middle of your cake pan, and use it as a glue
0:25
So I'm going to take my first cake, and that way that's going to sit still for me while I'm frosting my cake
0:34
It won't slide all around and create a mess. And a good way to keep your cake pan clean during the frosting process
0:39
is to take out parchment paper and sort of just tuck it in all along the edges
0:46
And this way your cake pan will stay clean throughout the whole process
0:52
That's a great way to keep from having to go back and clean your cake pan
0:59
Ta-da! Now onto the frosting. This is something that doesn't have to be perfect in the beginning

What you want to do is just make sure that you get your cake entirely covered and then you can come back and perfect it later But look at that One hand and that cake is not sliding around at all
1:18
because of that little bit of glue we started with on the bottom
1:23
And make sure you get some around the edges. Mm-hmm. All right
1:33
Layer number one is done. Time for the second layer. And even if your cake isn't the most beautiful cake, just look at that as character
1:49
And remember that it's the thought that counts. Mmm. I think that looks pretty good

And that's how you frost a cake. I think even Grandma Paul would be proud
