Today, I got the man, I got the can, and I got the plan
0:09
Today, y'all, Michael and I are going to cook up some delicious and easy meals that are all flavor and absolutely no fuss
0:18
Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? First, we're going to have a creamy hash brown casserole that we are serving with our savory sweet sausages
0:27
Look at that, how good that looks. Then we're fixing a yummy fried egg and avocado sandwich
0:34
Is that your stomach? I just heard growling. And for dessert, y'all, it doesn't get any simpler than our pineapple blueberry crunch
0:42
cake that we're serving along with a luscious malted marshmallow white chocolate Royale
0:49
y'all. Stand back, baby. The butter queen is fixing to do her thing
0:55
Hey Michael. Hey Dawn. How are you? Hungry. Hungry? Well you know what
1:05
You are in the right room in this house because I am fixing to mix up some of Michael's favorite little recipes that are so easy
1:14
He loves fixing them and he loves eating them. Y'all the first recipe I'm going to make is a wonderful creamy hash brown casserole
1:24
So, if you'll pass me the butter, Michael. Butter, that's strange. I know
1:31
I'm going to stick in like a half a stick of butter
1:35
Now, Michael is chopping us up an onion. We're just going to saute our onions until they're kind of soft
1:42
And you can watch those, Michael. Okay. And over here in this dish, I am going to be mixing up a can of cream of celery soup
1:52
and 8 ounces of Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese, 16 ounces of sour cream
2:00
about a half a teaspoon of garlic powder, and a package of thawed hash brown potatoes
2:08
So this is going to be delicious, and it's going to be easy, isn't it
2:12
Mm-hmm. Got me crying. It's got you crying? Well, listen, honey, look
2:18
You don't ever have to cry in my kitchen. Put those goggles on
2:25
I think I'd rather cry. Oh, come on. Let me see them on you
2:31
They're perfect. They're perfect. Those are my onion goggles, Michael. I know
2:38
It's too late, though. Oh, and you're tearing up. I haven't seen you cry like that since somebody backed into your Harley Davidson
2:46
They were crying. So, I have mixed our sour cream, y'all, with our soup
2:54
I'm going to put a half a teaspoon of garlic powder in
3:00
And I think I'm going to put some salt and pepper. Let's see
3:06
Got my little salt, got my little pepper. Let me stir it up
3:11
Please stir it. All right. And while you're doing that, I'm going to open up our cheese, and we're going to stir this in
3:22
And Michael, honey, if you would just stir these hash browns in
3:27
While you're doing that, I am going to crush up our potato chips
3:34
Now, as soon as our onions have finished sweating, just dump those in our bowl, okay
3:39
Okay. And the potato chips are going to go into our little bag
3:44
And I've probably got a couple of cups of chips here. Crunch, crunch, crunch
3:50
We all need to rely from time to time on a meal that we can put together at the drop of a hat
3:58
Because I don't know about y'all, but we have unexpected children that show up around here
4:04
And they usually show up hungry. So that looks delicious, Michael. I'll cut off your heat, and you just scoop those into our casserole
4:16
All right. So all you have to do, Michael, is stir that up
4:21
All right, now if you'd pour that into the casserole dish. Michael, when you were raising your children and you were doing all the cooking
4:29
did you have some easy recipes that you relied on heavily? A lot of times I did one-pot wonders like chicken and dumplings or beef stew or lasagna, stuff like that
4:42
All right. I'll just spread the potato chips out on top, and this is going to give it a nice little crispy topping
4:52
So here we go. Doesn't that look delicious? Okie do. So if you'll put that in the oven, please, Michael, 350 for 45 minutes
5:02
And while you're doing that, I'm gonna come down here and I'm gonna share one of the easiest
5:07
recipes of all time with y for wonderful breakfast meat We gonna make our own sweet sausages I to use a smoked sausage and I just going to cut it in little rounds just like this
5:24
Here, Michael, if you take half of this and get you a knife and help me along here
5:34
All right, so here we go. So into the saucepan this goes, y'all
5:40
And then, y'all, all we're going to do is we're going to pour about a cup and a half of syrup, just a regular pancake or waffle syrup
5:51
We're going to pour that over that smoked sausage. And if you'd hand me the spatula, Michael, so I can scoop all that syrup on it
6:02
And you stir them up good. Toss them up for me. I'll do it
6:07
And just make sure they're coated. We're going to let this simmer for about 20 minutes, y'all
6:12
And it's going to become almost like a candy smoked sausage. It's going to be delicious
6:21
All right, so Michael, I'm going to start the bacon for our next recipe
6:26
And then we're going to be back in the kitchen. It's all about lazy man meals today
6:31
I got the lazy man. And I bet you girls out there have one just like mine
6:39
Michael and I are going to make a fried egg and avocado sandwich that is just out of this world
6:46
What'd you say? That's delicious. Our lazy man meal continues with our pineapple blueberry crunch cake
6:53
This is a cake you can't mess up the recipe, y'all. And we're going to wash this all down, y'all, with a yummy marshmallow white chocolate Royale
7:04
That is good. I would never fix you anything that's not good, no matter how lazy I am
7:15
All right, now, Michael, you be buttering our toast. I'll do it. Hey, y'all, I'm getting ready to put together this sandwich, this lazy man sandwich
7:25
And it's a fried egg bacon avocado sandwich. I'm just drooling into our pan of sugared, syrup-laden smoked sausage
7:39
Look at that, how good that looks. And it's just simmering away
7:44
All right, we've got our bacon ready. I'm going to take our bacon up. And, Michael, as soon as you get that toast ready, honey
7:51
if you would just put it into our skillet. Okay. The bread, and we're going to turn it into toast
7:58
Perfect. And while you're watching our toast, I'm going to come down here and I'm going to fix us a sauce that we're going to spread on this toast to put together these wonderful egg sandwiches
8:10
And I'm going to use about four ounces of softened cream cheese
8:15
And this is important because you want it to be at room temperature because you don't want it to tear your toast when we go to slatter this on
8:24
Ooh, all right. Flip it over, Michael, and get both sides toasty, okay
8:29
No butter both sides? No, just... On a diet? Yes, we're on a diet
8:35
One side's enough. All right. Now I'm just going to take a little green onion
8:41
and chop it up and a little fresh parsley. Oops, a lot of fresh parsley
8:52
Not much. We don't need but about a teaspoon of each. So there we go, our fresh parsley, our onions, and you've got our toast ready, our buttered toast
9:08
So I'm going to just put all this in the bowl. A little salt to go along with the taste of that bacon
9:17
A little black pepper. All right, now, Michael, if you would take this and just mix that together and then spread it on both sides of our toast
9:29
Okay. When I say both sides, I mean this side and this side, not. Right
9:34
Yeah. Okay. And while you're doing it, it would be real messy to eat
9:41
Good thinking. So I'm going to slice us some tomato to go on our sandwich
9:50
And I'm going to slice us up some avocado. You know, Michael, when I think about it, you've always had somebody cooking for you
10:00
Whether it was your mother, your brother Hank, or now me. Well, it wasn't a plan. It just kind of worked out that way
10:08
Oh, it did? I'm just a lucky guy. How are you coming with our cream cheese, baby
10:16
It's good, but the bread's hot. Yes, that's the idea because it kind of melts down our cream cheese
10:25
All right so I going to slice our avocado So this is all ready Now I going to come back down here y in our pan that we fried our bacon in
10:36
And we've got the bacon grease. It's going to just fry up our eggs
10:42
So pretty. And into our bacon grease goes the eggs. Gonna bust that yolk because we're making a sandwich out of the eggs
10:52
When we bite into our sandwich, we don't want yolk running all down our arms, do we
10:58
All right, Mikey, and I'm going to take our toast, and I'm going to..
11:01
Is that your stomach? I just heard growling. It was! All right
11:09
So there goes our bacon. And I'm going to come over here, and I'm going to pile up our tomatoes and our avocado
11:20
Looks good. Doesn't it look good? All right, if you'll get our potato casserole out
11:26
I'll do it. I'm just going to flip these eggs over. Just like that
11:33
Now I'm just going to put that right there and let some of that bacon grease drain off of our eggs
11:42
And here we go. Mmm, this smells good. Doesn't it smell good
11:52
And look at that. Have you ever seen a prettier sandwich? I'm hungry
12:03
Now, it's hot, so you begin, huh? What'd you say? That's delicious
12:15
That cream cheese, y'all, on that sandwich. is outrageously good
12:26
Where's my heart? Thank you, because I want to taste those potatoes
12:33
Mmm. Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm. And I want to taste the sausage
12:40
That sausage is so very good. Ha, ha, ha, ha! You know, when I cook for Michael
12:49
I don't need but one word from him. And that's mmm. When Michael says mmm, I know I've hit a home run
13:01
Michael and I will make our lazy man's version of dessert. So simple, you probably got all of this stuff in your pantry
13:09
My delicious pineapple blueberry crunch cake. There's no better excuse to be lazy than for my creamy malted marshmallow white chocolate royale
13:20
It's yummy, isn't it? So for this lazy man meal, y'all, we kind of have a lazy man dessert, don't we
13:33
And I got my lazy man making a pineapple blueberry crunch cake
13:40
You're not going to believe how easy this is. Now, I'm going to melt us a stick and a half of butter
13:46
Okay. While you're doing that. Now, Michael has dumped into a greased 13 by 9 by 2 casserole dish one can of crushed pineapple and its juice
14:02
And you just want to make sure that's kind of level. Now he has opened about a 20-ounce can of blueberry pie filling that he's just going to evenly spread over that pineapple
14:16
And I got my lazy man to work on, honey. All right, Michael, do you need a spatula to..
14:23
Or here, you can use my... And then he's going to take a yellow butter cake mix
14:32
and he's just going to sprinkle that on top. And then we're going to sprinkle it with, what about a cup of pecans, Michael
14:42
Mm-hmm. Chopped pecans. That's where a crunch is going to come in
14:47
And then I'm going to take my butter, and I'm just going to drizzle it on top of this wonderful pineapple blueberry dessert
14:55
How simple can that be? I mean, this is... I can't wait
15:00
This is a lazy man's dessert, y'all. So there you go. And I love blueberry
15:09
Do you love blueberry? Oh, I love all of this. a bit sweet. I love it
15:15
Now the butter that I'm melting, y'all, is, like I said, three quarters of a cup
15:19
so that would be a stick and a half of melted butter. I can't hardly wait
15:27
Maybe. All right, you can just, yeah, you can just kind of take your hand
15:31
and spread that out. And I've about got our butter melted. You know, this is a cake
15:38
You can't mess up the recipe, y'all. This is like child play Do you want me to chop the pecans Michael or you want me to do them up like half Okay So these I going to leave these kind of coarse Michael
15:54
because you know I'm a nut girl. I love nuts. I seem to be a nut magnet, too
16:05
Don't even go there, Michael Grover. All right. There's some nuts you can start spreading out
16:15
And I'm probably going to use like a cup, y'all. But there again, you know, if you like it nuttier, pour on the nuts
16:23
If you don't like nuts, leave it off. Okay, Michael, there's the last of the nuts
16:30
Now, as soon as you get those spread on, I'm just going to drizzle this butter on top of that cake mix and those nuts
16:39
Good. So stand back, baby. The butter queen is fixing to do her thing
16:46
You know that's what they call me, Paula Deen, the butter queen
16:51
I don't know where they got that from. You know what they call the guy that was married to the queen, don't you
16:57
What? The king. So you're the butter king? I'm just the king
17:05
Instead of the burger king? No, the king like Elvis. You never have had a self-esteem problem
17:14
Okay. In the oven, y'all. 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes
17:22
Just that quickly. This Lazy Man Crunchy Pineapple Blueberry Cake. Let's cook it
17:30
Let's cook it, honey. We've got a drink that's so scrumptious. It'll knock you into next week
17:39
It's a malted marshmallow white chocolate royale. So, I wanted to fix us a drink to wash down our dessert with
17:53
So what we're fixing to make now is a malted marshmallow white chocolate royale
18:02
Oh, good. It's not diet, Michael. That doesn't sound like it. All right
18:07
Michael, if you would start chopping our white chocolate. Now, I'm going to start with a cup and a half of heavy cream
18:17
And in our saucepan, that goes. And then I'm going to rinse out our measuring cup with one and a half cups of milk
18:30
I'll put my chocolate in? Yes. Throw your chocolate in, honey. Is that good like that
18:35
Oh, that's perfect because it's going to melt. All right, so a cup and a half of milk
18:43
And then I'm going to add, y'all, one cup of a malted milk powder
18:50
I'm going to add now about a fourth of a cup of marshmallow creme
18:57
And that may be a heaping fourth of a cup, y'all. Okay, so in there we go
19:04
We're going to let this get hot. All righty, Michael. You want to get the crumb cake out of the oven
19:12
I do. And I'll work on keeping this stirred. This is going to be so good
19:21
So why don't you... Let me bring it down. Yeah, take it down there
19:26
And spoon this up a little bit. So all of our ingredients are hot now
19:32
So I'm going to add one tablespoon of vanilla extract. Oh, that smells delicious
19:40
Does it? Oh. So this is ready, Michael. Pass me the cups
19:48
Look at that. No muss, no fuss. Okie dokie. And then we're going to bring it down here
19:56
and I'm going to top it with a little bit more cream
20:02
So, here is to those lazy folks that still want to eat good, but are too lazy to cook it up
20:17
Delicious. And it was fun. All right, so taste your malted Royale
20:27
That's good. I know it's good. I would never fix you anything that's not good, no matter how lazy I am
20:37
Time to tell everybody bye. My time is up. Bye, y'all. Ain't nothing slowing him down on this one, y'all
20:48
Until next time, we always send y'all love and best dishes from our kitchen to yours
21:00
