Raspberry Lime Ice Cream Soda

Who said Mondays were a bad day? I did. I've actually said that before

Well, that audience says nay to that. No, Mondays were one of my favorite days

Jack was born on a Monday. So as soon as my first child was born on a Monday, I said Monday's a good day

Yes, Monday is a great day. And speaking of your firstborn, those two boys, Jack and Matthew and Henry and Sullivan and John

every one of them love ice cream drinks. So that's what I've kind of come up with them for today, Jamie

It's a raspberry ice cream float. Doesn't that sound delicious? And it just so happens that I know my little grandson Jack Raspberry is his favorite fruit In fact I even planted him raspberries in my little garden so he could come through

The last time he was over at the house, we were walking hand in hand through the yard

and we were getting peaches. And he says, Ginny, there is just nothing

like harvesting your own homegrown food, is it? I said, no, sonny boy, it is not

All right, now I've got a simple syrup right here, y'all. I'm going to use about half of that

And I'm going to use the juice of one lime. I've rolled this one so it will produce a lot of juice

So I'll tell you how to make a simple syrup. I normally use, like, equal parts of sugar and water

and you just bring that to a boil and then let it cool

and then it's going to thicken up for you and get like a syrup

And because of it being so simple sugar water it called a simple syrup All right so hold on just one second Sonny Boy Yes

So we're just going to puree this. And just make sure all that gets mixed in together, Son

And then I'm just going to pour us. And look, Abby chilled our glasses

She froze our glasses for us. Now, it depends on how much you like

You don't have to use this much raspberry in yours. All right, now, Sonny Boy

if you would start dropping us things of ice cream in there

Come on, come on, big... What? What you being so stingy for

Big drops. No, Mama, a full scoop won't fit down in the cup. Big drops

Trust me. I know what I'm doing. I do trust you, but I want more ice cream

All right, we got some... Soda. Some sparkling water? Yes. Awesome. And a little bit of whipped cream on top Well no we need another dollop of ice cream Work with your mama son

Oh, wait, we got to... Whoa! Okay, that's looking putty. All right, we got to let that come down a little..
