Hey, y'all, tonight on Paula's Party
0:02
I'm tapping into my inner goddess with a diva party. Some divas, Susan Lucci, slaps together
0:08
a lobster club sandwich and pink potato salad. And then we're sparing no expense when money diva Suzy Orman
0:17
makes a beef wellington. That's beautiful. And the fabulous RuPaul with brownie bites and cherry mousse
0:25
Let them have it, Paula, diva. I want y'all to put on your tiaras out there and let's party
0:57
Boys, easy babies
1:13
Hello, y'all I will do anything for a dollar, y'all
1:37
Any requests from the men. So, how are y'all? Are y'all ready to party
1:50
In case y'all hadn't figured it out, today's show is all about divas
1:58
We're paying tribute to some of the greatest divas that are on TV today
2:05
And I can't wait to get to my first guest because I know y'all all feel like this woman is your best friend
2:12
Because she has been on TV and in our homes for 38 years on All My Children
2:19
The beautiful, the talented, Susan Lucci! Oh, my goodness
2:33
Oh, my goodness. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Oh, my goodness
2:41
Hi, everybody. I'm so happy to meet you. Oh, I'm so happy to meet you
2:47
Thank you. Go McQueen. Thank you. Thank you. Hi. Well, you had the best entrance in the world
2:57
but Diva Erica Kane had to come out somewhere good. You know what? Why didn't they bring me out that way
3:02
Well, you came out in a whole divan. I did. It took four of them, honey, to lift me
3:09
I am so happy to meet you. Unlike you, you must weigh like 85 or 90 pounds
3:14
You're so tiny. Yeah, but I want some good Southern cooking, so I came to the right place
3:18
You know, I can put some meat on your bones today. Okay, then. But you know what
3:22
Before we do that, Susan, you know that women from one side of this country
3:27
to the other, just love you. Thank you. You know, you're like everything
3:31
You're so smart, and you're seductive, and you've got the answer for everything
3:37
Oh, thank you, but not for cooking, Paula. The last time Erica King cooked, she burned down the kitchen
3:42
Oh, no. Well, I will help you solve some of your cooking issues, Susan
3:48
I'm going to make you, because you're so beautiful and so elegant
3:52
you know, I couldn't fix you a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. You could fix me anything, Paula Deen
3:57
I'm so thrilled to do this with you. Oh, I'm the thrilled one, honey. I'm going to make you a lobster club with a pink potato salad
4:05
Great. Are you afraid of frying? No. Okay, good, because I'm going to put you in charge of frying these potatoes
4:14
Okay. Now we've got to... So just put them in the mouth? Just slip them down there and they don't burn yourself. Okay
4:18
Just... There you go. Oh, they're frying right up. They're frying right up
4:22
Listen, this is a first-class show. Our grease is hot. All right, now, just give your taters a little shake every now and again and lift them up
4:33
Now, these are not part-cooked. We're starting with raw potatoes. And in our bowl, I'm going to mix up
4:39
Let's see, what am I going to mix? I think you've got to have mayonnaise for Potato Sally, don't you? Definitely
4:46
And a little mustard. So talk to me now. Tell me everything that's up
4:52
I know you've got your own wax figure now. I do. That's a big deal
4:57
Yeah. They unveiled the wax figure very recently here in New York
5:01
Lemon juice and mustard. And it was very exciting. I mean, I know that it's a big honor
5:05
I mean, it's very strange, too, to see yourself life-size. I bet it is
5:09
And they say they're so real-looking. They're very real-looking. And I was amazed at how real-looking they got it because they somehow put life in the eyes
5:17
I don't know how they do that, not just on mine but on everybody's. Well, I heard the sitting is actually like two hours long
5:23
It is two hours long. They put me on a turntable for two hours
5:27
They put black dots all over me and turned me on a turntable in increments like this
5:33
Uh-uh. And took pictures of every angle you can imagine. You are kidding me. There was another artist there with a tray of teeth, and then they came out and held them up
5:42
and there was another artist there with a tray of eyeballs. And they came up and matched that, and they were all standing there
5:48
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. And there was an artist there who was mixing, mixing, mixing
5:51
and she was doing the skin tone, and she'd come up and do a little patch test
5:56
Are these potatoes okay? Oh, yeah, they're all right. Just another couple of minutes for those
6:00
All right, now I've added diced canned beech, y'all, purple onions, fresh parsley
6:06
and now I'm going to add some pepper and some salt, and I'm going to start sneezing from that pepper
6:15
Y'all, we got to take a real, real quick break. When we come back, our potatoes will be done
6:21
And I'm throwing together this beautiful pink potato salad just for my special diva girlfriend, Susan Lucci, everybody
6:34
Next, a Lobster Club sandwich with potato salad and a soap opera surprise
6:40
Oh, my God! And later, I'm going to be dishing up Beef Wellington with Money Diva Susie Orman
6:59
Welcome back, everybody. Today we're paying tribute to some of the most fabulous divas that we've had the pleasure of knowing over the years
7:10
and Susan Lucci is like the queen of daytime divas. And I am so thrilled to meet her
7:17
And I'm in my kitchen cooking for Susan Lucci, y'all. And she so happy to be in the kitchen with Paula D Learning how to and thrill Honey listen I see you let yourself go So I going to help get that figure back in shape by making you pink potato salad
7:40
Fantastic. All right, honey, our potatoes are ready. Spill them out on here
7:45
No, you don't have to. You can just kind of sit them right there. Okay. I have mixed everything together for us
7:50
I've got mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, a little lemon juice, purple onions, diced beets, fresh parsley, salt, and pepper
7:58
So all you have to do now is take those wonderful potatoes that you just cooked
8:03
and throw them in here with our beets. Right in here? Right in there. Okay
8:09
Now, over the years on All My Children, your character has been married how many times
8:16
Well, I went into double digits last year. But I've loved this man a long time
8:24
Jack Montgomery and Erica Kane, I've been married ten times. Ten times
8:29
Yes. But I was married to his brother before. Oh, you were? Well, in ten marriages, Susan, that means that there's been a lot of fussing and fighting and probably slapping going on
8:40
There was a good deal of slapping going on, yes. Well, I would love, and I know everybody would love, you teaching us how to just cold cock your man
8:54
I think I can do that. Doesn't all the girls want to know? Look
9:00
And what is this called? And cold cock your man? Cold cocking, baby
9:04
Cold cocking. Like knock him into next week. Okay. And we've got to volunteer
9:09
Okay, then. There's another one. All right. Wait, wait, wait. I got to get my potato salad dipped up
9:15
Okay. Potato salad's great. Show us how you were trained. Well, it comes from an emotional place because he just said..
9:23
Frankly, my dear, I just don't give a damn. That was wonderful
9:32
Would you like to take my place? I would so love to do it. You be Erica Kane now
9:37
Okay, so now he's going to tell you something you don't want to hear. You're going to wind up..
9:41
You can say anything you want to, but if he calls me fat, I'm going to whip his throat
9:51
And also, always maintain eye contact. You trust each other because he trusts that you're not going to actually make contact
9:57
But you're going to wind up and follow through. Okay? He's going to tell you something you don't want to hear
10:02
Paula, I hate Southern cooking. We're so good! That was great
10:14
That was good, wasn't it? That was really good. You're such a pro. All right, now let's see
10:19
What are we going to do next? Oh, we're going to make us our lobster club sandwich
10:23
So we're going to mix a little mayonnaise. So you just go ahead, darling. Mix the mayonnaise
10:27
Take your mayonnaise and lemon juice and mix it together. In this bowl? In that bowl
10:32
So I put the mayonnaise in first? It doesn't matter any way you want to do it. I'm just so happy to learn to do this
10:36
My husband is a fantastic cook. He was a professional chef. And I want to teach him
10:41
And, you know, I want to surprise him sometimes and make something that he didn't teach me
10:45
So southern cooking, my husband's from Austria. So American southern cooking is something that I can do now
10:50
Honey, I hate to tell you, but some girls don't have to know how to cook
10:55
And you are definitely one of them. Thank you. All right, now over here
11:00
Is that good mixing? That's perfect. Okay. That's perfect mixing. All right, now over here we have some lobster
11:07
Okay. Yummy. We have got some green onion tops, and we've got parsley
11:13
So just pour your sauce, about half of it, on your lobster
11:20
All right, because we're going to need some of this, just give that a toss
11:24
Give this a toss. This looks beautiful. What kind of parsley is that
11:29
It's just a flat leaf. Flat leaf parsley. Mm-hmm. Love flat leaf
11:33
Me too. I grow so many of these things in my own garden. How wonderful
11:38
All right. Okay. Now we're going to take our bread, and we're going to take our extra sauce
11:44
and just pour a little bit on our bread. Actually pour it
11:49
Just pour it because it's kind of thin from our vinegar. Mm-hmm. I love how you use all these real ingredients
11:56
I love when you use sticks of butter and real mayonnaise. I do, too
12:03
That's great. Because, you know, I don't like feeling deprived, Susan. No, because then you're cranky, and nobody can't
12:08
Here's how thin you are. There you go. I have met some of your fellow soap opera stars before
12:15
And, you know, they told me that the memorization that you have to do for a soap opera is unbelievable
12:23
That is something that comes into it. It's true. I can't imagine
12:28
But I have a surprise for you, Paula. I love surprises. Let me wipe my hands. Okay
12:33
What is that? Well, you just mentioned about memorizing as an actor on All My Children
12:37
and I want to just welcome you to have a part on All My Children
12:42
Oh, my God! Dear Miss Paula Deen, on behalf of the producers of ABC Television
12:51
you are cordially invited to be our special guest on an episode of All My Children
12:56
Sounds like great. I would adore it. Oh, we'd adore to have you here. You're sure you're not kidding me
13:00
I'm not kidding you at all. Oh, my goodness, this is for real. This is for real
13:05
I hope I'm out of jail at that point. I hope we get to play. Because I have to do a scene with you
13:11
Yes. Oh, look, I'm so excited. I was putting our sandwiches together without finishing
13:15
But look how gorgeous they are. A little arugula. A little tomato. A little bacon
13:20
Okay. Oh, Susan, and will I get to be in a scene with you
13:25
Yes. I can be like the jailhouse cook. And I can come and serve you
13:32
Oh, you're so welcome. Oh, gosh. Well, uh-oh, now look, I'm screwing all up
13:38
I am going to do... Oh, look at my bread. Look at our bread
13:45
It still tastes really good. It tastes wonderful. And look at that potato salad
13:50
Oh, thank you. All right, taste your potato salad. Okay. And here, I'll help you with this messy sandwich
13:55
Okay, which... Just eat this. Uh-huh, just eat it. Mmm. Is it good
14:03
That's amazing. Wait, I didn't give you any bacon. Mmm. I am shaking
14:10
I'm gonna be a soap opera star. You are. Don't go anywhere
14:19
because I've got some more divas for y'all to meet. The wonderful Susan Lucci from All of My Children
14:29
Next up, financial diva Susie Orman and a beef wellington that's on the money, y'all
14:48
Y'all, welcome back. Today we celebrating the divas in our life And this next woman y she our money diva We love this girl She has got six New York Times best books
15:08
She's got her own show. She's beautiful. She's smart. She's sexy. She's Susie Ormond
15:18
Come on out. Thank you. I'm telling you. Hello, my dear friend
15:35
Hello, my friend. It's us. It's us. Can you believe it? I can't believe it
15:40
We pass in the hallways. I know. I was. He had to walk me out
15:44
He had to walk me out. He couldn't carry me out like he did. That little Suzy Lucha thing
15:48
Why do you think I felt, Suzy? I took four. No, but he comes up to me
15:53
To bring me out. He says to me, I can do it. I say, I don't think so. I don't think so
15:59
What a brilliant woman this is. The money diva, Susie Orman. I'm going to be cooking up something very special for you today
16:10
I'm making beef wellington, honey. Can we make it rare? Is that good
16:15
I like my steak. Look, we just seared this at medium-high heat
16:19
I like it cold to the touch. My husband says that he likes his steak where a good veterinarian can fix it
16:26
Yeah, yeah. He likes his meat so rare. I like it black and blue
16:30
You know what that means, everybody? Black and blue, yes. Yes. But you know what? That allows all the great flavor
16:36
If you overcook a steak, you know, just throw it away. Order a hamburger
16:42
All right, now, I've got you some garlic. I've got you some mushrooms. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've got you some onions, and I've got you a little sherry
16:49
So all we're going to do, honey, do you cook? What do I look like
16:53
Well, now listen. Listen, I found out that you originally wanted to be in the restaurant business
17:00
I did. But I wanted to be a fast order cook. You know, eggs, potatoes, things like that
17:06
Well, thank goodness you took a nap and got over that. Because you have been most successful at what you do
17:12
But it's because I wanted to have my own restaurant that I am who I am today
17:16
You know that story, right? Throw that onion in there. These things are soft
17:21
I know they're soft. Watch this. Don't you love them? That's to do this so we don't waste one thing
17:26
Because today with the price of food, you need everything. Can you believe it
17:30
Oh, my goodness. Food is really going up. And for those of us that are in the restaurant business, all right, dump your mushrooms
17:36
And I'm going to turn down our heat a little bit. How come this one doesn't flip open? Well, that's just hard
17:41
That's just a hard one. I got it. And those are soft. and I've got us some fresh oysters right here
17:48
because we're going to top our Wellington with oysters. They are oysters
17:54
Yes, with oysters. At first I thought it was you. I wasn't going to say anything
18:01
Listen, listen, I was sweating. I was sweating like a fat girl writing her first love letter
18:07
when those men put me on that thing. All right, now we're going to take our oysters, Yeah
18:14
Throw them over in there. We're going to just saute these until they're opaque, y'all
18:19
We don't want to overcook them because our Wellington is going to be going back in the oven, Susie
18:25
So tell us what to do. Give us some tips on things that we can do that can help us
18:32
You know, while money's kind of, hmm. Well, you might not want to eat steak
18:40
No, I'm not kidding. Because let me tell you something about meat. The price of meat is going to be going up, everybody
18:45
You know why? This is true. The price of wheat and everything in the grate to feed these cows, it's too expensive now
18:53
So what does that mean for you for the price of meat? So it's like kind of a vicious circle
18:58
Yeah, so it's like we're going to enjoy this right now. Well, you know, that means we're going to have to go fishing more
19:05
And things like that. Grow things in your garden. I know. Macaroni and cheese
19:10
Your favorite. You know what? That's so funny that you said that. I grow macaroni in my garden
19:15
I grow cheese in mine. You do? No. All right. So we've got this done, and we're going to take a quick break
19:25
because speaking of money, we got to pay the piper. We're going to put all this into our food processor
19:31
We're going to blend it up good, and then we're going to put this together
19:35
Nobody goes anywhere, because Susie's got some wonderful things to tell us
19:41
I'm here with divas. today, Sissy Orman. Coming up, y'all, Susie and I are gonna be investing
19:49
in beef wellington, and later, fudge brownie bites with the queen of all divas
19:55
RuPaul, y'all. Attitude. Hey, y'all, we're back
20:16
I've got a fabulous woman standing up here next to me. She is the diva of money, Suzy Orman
20:24
And I'm making her a fabulous dish. I'm making her beef wellington with an oyster pate on top
20:32
What's that you put in? All right, just a few breadcrumbs to kind of tighten it up
20:37
All right, mash that button. Just that easily it's done. All right, so we're just going to pour this into our cheesecloth and let it drain
20:49
And while we're doing that, I want you to tell everybody what
20:55
You having trouble there? We need that man back. It's great having a man around the house, isn't it
21:01
I wouldn't know. For things like that. All right, we're going to let that drain in our cheesecloth
21:07
and we're going to come over here. I've got to swap out. But I want you to tell everybody the journey that got you where you are
21:15
Because, as I said, she wanted to be in the restaurant business. So slide on down, you cute thing
21:21
Don't step on your bower. You put it up on that cute thing
21:25
You don't have a bower. Thank you. There you go. Oh, sweet. All right
21:30
Tell us your story. So my real story starts actually with my papa
21:34
You'll love this one. So when I was little, I was growing up, we didn't have a lot of money, and my papa always had a little restaurant, tiny little things
21:41
Danny. And so he sold his sandwiches. He had like corned beef sandwiches and things like that
21:46
So here I am, downtown Chicago. I'm from Chicago, everybody. And they're selling these sandwiches for twice the amount of money my papa sold for
21:53
So I come home, I go, Dad, I can solve our money problems. He goes, well, Susie
21:58
I go, you just got to double your prices. And he said to me, Susie, it's better to have 50% of something than 100% of nothing
22:06
And for that, I've lived my whole life like that now. That's exactly right, honey
22:11
Yeah. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. You got that
22:15
So then, after four years of not graduating from the University of Illinois, because I wasn't smart enough to graduate
22:21
Okay Borrow money from my brother to buy a van head out to Berkeley California live in that van for four months on the street until Yeah it because I didn have the money for a first and last You lived in a van Yeah for four months Oh my God
22:35
Where did you bathe? You don't want to know. You should not ask personal questions like that while we're cooking
22:41
So here I am. And then, to make a long story short, I get my dream job, a waitress at the Buttercup Bakery until I was 30 years of age
22:48
until some people I had been waiting on for all those years gave me $50,000 to start my own restaurant
22:54
So for seven years, that was my dream, is to do this. No, but to be a short order kick and do it
23:00
And then I took it to a brokerage firm because they told me to, and within three months they lost all $50,000
23:06
Oh, no, but don't be sad, everybody, because that's why I am who I am today. Absolutely
23:10
Every time a door shuts, another one opens. Another one opens. And this one opens
23:14
That's absolutely the truth. Because I thought, I could be a broker. They just make you broker. Many of you are experiencing that right now, aren't you
23:21
You are a very smart woman. And, of course, I tune you in to listen to your money advice
23:28
Do you watch my Cannot Afford It segment? Denied. You cannot afford that piece of steak
23:34
Are you tight, Susie? No, actually, I wish I were. Oh, you mean financially or my body
23:40
Are you money? Oh, I can look at you and tell you. No, I feel it's not
23:44
But, no, money-wise. All right. Now, we have put our... What is this
23:50
Dough, dough? This is our dough. So we're using a frozen puff pastry for our beef wellington
23:56
And we're just going to seal this up. Do you always wear diamonds when you cook
24:01
I always do, honey, because I'm afraid that I will lose them
24:05
Oh, I got that one. I'm afraid that I will lose them if I take them off. I'd rather have them on my hands dirty than in someone else's pocket clean
24:16
All right, so look at our pretty dough. You want me to do this on you? Yes, I want you
24:19
Now, normally I would do this with an egg, Susie. But since you're allergic to eggs
24:24
I'm allergic to eggs. Can you believe that one? We're going to brush it with heavy cream
24:29
And that's going to give our crust a beautiful sheen to it
24:33
And we had some extra dough. And you can take little cookie cutters and cut out little designer pieces
24:41
We should have done them in dollar signs. Why didn't we think about that? I have
24:45
What does it matter with you? But it's okay. We should have. I'm so sorry
24:49
I'm not all that smart. That's okay. Somehow I think you are
24:53
Don't stop it. Just wet it a little bit. A little bit, okay
24:59
All right, now we're going to take these. Oh, I love that idea. That's why they should be dollar signs
25:04
So what is the name of your book? Women and Money. It's been out about a year
25:08
It has. Still on the New York Times bestseller list. I was probably 45 years old, y'all, before I realized that I was as capable of earning money as a man
25:23
You know, all I had to do was take responsibility for myself
25:27
But that's not the problem. All these women in this room can earn money better than men
25:33
Here's the problem. No, wait, wait. Here's the problem. Look at those men sitting there looking at you like they could
25:39
They know I love them. These men know I love them because they have it right when it comes to money
25:43
The difference is what you did with the money that you earned versus what a man does with the money that he earns
25:49
You give it away. We spend it differently. You take care of your kids. You take care of your family
25:54
You take care of your parents. And then in the end, you're like, where did it all go
25:58
Where did it all go, everybody? A man knows very well that he's got to take care of it because it's okay to say no
26:06
You don't have to say yes and lend your money to somebody that you don't want to lend it to
26:09
Now, we're going to put this in the oven at 450 degrees for 15 minutes until it's nice and brown
26:17
And we don't want to overcook it because Susie likes her steak rare
26:22
I like my meat raw. So we're going to just put this in the oven. And in Paula World, you're going to love Paula World
26:31
It's done. It's done. Oh! Oh! Look how beautiful this is
26:42
All right. And it's warm. So let's cut you off a piece
26:48
And you know what? I'm going to go to the center because sometimes the ends are more done than the center
26:56
So I want to make sure that you have a piece of as rare as I can get you
27:03
You have a thumb ring on. I do. Why? My son put that on me, Jamie
27:09
Yeah? Put that on me 20 years ago. I had it on my finger
27:13
Look at this, Susie. That is beautiful. Now, that's beautiful. Isn't that beautiful
27:18
Probably a little dunner than you would like. No, I like that. But you see, I didn't really know that you liked your meat rare
27:27
Yeah, black and blue. But my son put this ring on me. I had put it on this finger, and he came home from school
27:34
He said, Mama, what's on your finger? I said, well, a ring that your daddy found on a key ring on a traded-in car
27:41
And I said, I just hated it to go to waste. And he said, well, it is so not cool there
27:48
So he took it off, put it on my thumb, and I've had it on ever since. All right, so dig in, honey
27:54
The middle of it? Yes. All right, are we ready? Wait, let's feed each other. Okay
27:58
Okay, got it? Oh, good. I've got a bigger piece of meat than you. Oh, my goodness
28:06
You did it. Don't go anywhere, y'all, because I've got one more diva
28:23
Susie Orman, everybody. Thank you, lady. Next, Glamazon RuPaul works her magic on brownie bites with Cherry Moose
28:52
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Well, what about the divas? Have y'all loved them? Yes
28:59
Well, I want you to hang on to your seat, because we have got the finale diva of all times
29:10
This person is a model, a singer, an actor, the queen of all divas
29:19
I can hardly wait. Come on out, RuPaul. Hi. Oh, baby
29:31
Oh, we finally get to meet. The diva kiss. Oh, my God
29:37
This whole thing. They'll arrest you in certain states for this, you know
29:48
Y'all, this is a man. It's a man. Hi, baby. Oh, hey, Rue
29:57
You are just scrumptious. Thank you. Thank you. Oh, my goodness. You look gorgeous. Look how pretty you are
30:05
Well, thank you. I'm a little dumpy next to you. No, no, never
30:10
And I love your eyelashes. You're beautiful. Well, that's what people say
30:14
You know what? I am just, I'm just like everybody else. I just have the natural ability to accessorize
30:22
Yes, you do. I wish my waist was that tiny. Honey, listen, we can get your waist as tiny
30:28
I tell you, there's a whole system of pulleys and lifts going on here that you don't even want to know about
30:33
Oh, I thought I had mine on, but it ain't doing to me what that's doing to you
30:38
You know what? What's that? I'm making something just special for you, Ruth
30:47
I'm making you a fudge brownie bite with cherry mousse. Doesn't that sound delicious
30:56
I love it. Do you like to eat? I love to eat. Do you love to cook? I love, well, I don't love to cook, but I love to eat
31:02
So this is going to be a really good treat for me. Do you diet
31:07
Well, just a little bit, you know. It's just part of the whole thing. All right, Rue
31:11
Excuse me, honey. I've got some plain gelatin here, and I'm going to mix it with four tablespoons of water and just let it bloom
31:20
Four tablespoons? I can't count. That's the hardest. Oh, that's all right. Four tablespoons of water and gelatin
31:23
You can have somebody come measure everything for you. Your skin is so dadgum soft
31:29
Well, thank you. Where did you get the name Rue? Come on. Come on over here, honey. I'm sure I would love to help
31:34
I want you to do this. Okay. We're going to start with a brownie mix
31:38
Uh-huh. This is a mix. This is off the shelf? So it's so easy. Yeah, this is just in the store. Out of your grocery store, add your oil, your water, two eggs, vanilla, and your chocolate chips
31:48
Okay. And tell everybody, Rue is really your name. That's my real name
31:53
My mother was Creole from southern Louisiana. and she named me after the gumbo
31:58
You know, you make a roux before you can do a gumbo. R-O-U-X
32:03
Yes, yes. But my real name is RuPaul. And you know what, Paula, I really..
32:08
Should I call you RuPaula? RuPaula. Yes, we'll be RuPaula and RuPaula
32:15
Yes. You know, had I been smart, I would have changed my name
32:20
before I got into show business. That way, are we going to put the eggs in? Yes. You stir and I'll get everything ready for you
32:27
Because, you know, they charge me more for insurance because they know it's my name
32:30
It's my real name on my driver's license. Oh, yeah. So they charge you more because they think people are going to, you know, sue you or something
32:37
Oh, I don't want to get any of my ouch fit. No, your ouch fit
32:41
Uh-huh. Get it, girls. Ouch fit. This is going to be good
32:48
I have said ouch more times this week than you can imagine. Are you clumsy
32:52
Are you a clumsy person? I don know You seem coordinated I feel pretty coordinated most of the time Yeah Except when I have to get off them beds you know where they tote you around on
33:05
That's how I came out today. Oh. It was like one of those beds
33:09
Let's clear about your beds. Yes! I love that. All right, there you go. Okay
33:13
We're going to just beat this like 50 strokes. I'm going to come over here, and I'm going to measure us up a third of a cup of ball and water roux
33:24
Wow. Oh, this looks good. Are we going to get, I know we're going to have cherry mousse, but are we going to have vanilla ice cream with this too
33:30
If you want vanilla ice cream, girlfriend, it's yours. Yeah. All right, so I'm going to pour that ball in water in with our gelatin
33:38
Oh, there's a bunch of chemicals. Oh, good. Yeah, see, there's one. Oh, good, so you can see what a great job I'm doing over here
33:43
All right, we're going to let that dissolve. We got it all mixed up, and when we come back, me and the queen of diva is going to finish up this chocolate fudge bite with a cherry mousse
33:57
Y'all don't go anywhere! Get it on! I love it. Next, I make RuPaul a pink mousse, almost as pretty as she is
34:12
I'm feeling like a diva. The diva that you are. group hall everybody wow all right so we've got everything done let's put our brownies
34:35
onto our greased cookie sheet okay do you want me to do that sure i'll do it okay okay you do that
34:41
All right. And I have got my gelatin mix over here. But you know what, Ru
34:47
I've got to swap because I don't want that hot gelatin to mess up our whipped cream
34:57
Now, we're going to bake this, y'all, for about 18 minutes at 350
35:01
Nothing hard about that, is it, Ru? No, everything is at 350, isn't it
35:05
Why is 350 such a... Well, it's just a good temperature, you know, that..
35:09
I'm going to play that number today. $3.50. $3.50. Uh-huh. Do I have to spread it to the corners like this
35:16
Yes, honey. Just spread it all the way. All right. Put it in the oven. But you know what
35:20
You don't even have to worry about that because I've got us a swap out. No, you don't
35:23
I've got you one ready. You are lying. I ain't lying to you, honey
35:28
All right. And that gelatin, come on gelatin. Get in there. Get in there
35:32
I'm folding that gelatin in. I'm going to add about a half a cup of maraschino cherries
35:39
What you call me, Paula? And a little bit of cherry juice to make this pink. Perfect
35:46
I love it. All right, so we're all ready to go here, and we've got a couple of extra minutes
35:51
so I want you to do something for me. What that baby I want you to teach me to walk like a diva Well I wouldn be Southern if I didn I know it You are Southern You from Atlanta aren you Well I moved to Atlanta Georgia when I was 15 years old so I feel like I am Southern
36:06
So you kind of grew up in Atlanta. Yes, absolutely. All right, so teach me how to walk like a diva
36:11
We want to start over here. Look at that body. Now, listen, Paula, it's all about between your ears, and that's for everybody out there
36:18
All the attitude comes from between your ears. So you start there, and the body will follow. Are you ready
36:23
attitude. Let them have it. Paula, Dean, let them have it. Look at my shoes, y'all. Those are gorgeous
36:36
Aren't these slippers beautiful? These are the shoes I got married in
36:40
This is what you're going to do. Pretend you're going to Michael again, the sequel. That's how
36:44
you do it. Now walk, Mama. Walk. Ru Paula, Dean. Yes! Yes
36:50
Yes! That's it. You're great. Excellent. You are just great, Ruth
36:59
Wonderful. All right, now we're making fudge bites. Okay. So we're going to use a cookie cutter
37:05
Mm-hmm. Oops. So you be cutting those out because I want to tell everybody about your movie
37:12
Yes. Yes. Star Booty. Yes. Star Booty. It is so funny, Paula
37:18
Is it on the Disney Channel? It's not on Disney, but it is at Netflix or RuPaul.com or Amazon
37:29
It's all over the place. So what else are you doing? Well, I'm going to get back into television
37:33
I'm starting with your show. Yes. So I've got a couple of surprises up my stick of butter
37:41
And so is that the way? Am I doing this right? Yeah, you're doing it perfectly
37:47
Okay, exactly. What kind of foods do you like? I love southern food, and I love Mexican
37:54
I love all food, but, you know, I don't eat too much of it. Not too much
37:58
I was going to say, you couldn't eat much. Well, you know what I do, Paula? I do that summer sizing
38:03
You know, that food combining. Oh, okay. I was just looking. That food combining thing that they did in the 70s, Fit for Life, remember that
38:12
Well, I do that, and it's food combining where you don't mix certain things
38:15
You can eat everything. What would you eat, say, for dinner? For dinner, I'd have a salad or some vegetables and some fish or a piece of meat
38:23
That sounds very sensible. Yeah, and I can splurge every once in a while
38:27
Once I hit my goal weight, it's not really even about weight
38:31
It's about feeling good. It's about feeling like a diva, the diva that you are
38:36
You know what? And I have to tell you, I'm probably the biggest that I've ever been in my whole life
38:44
I had a 23-inch waist once upon a year. No longer that
38:50
It's about doubled it. Okay. But I feel good That right I feel good So it not necessarily what those scales say but what says
39:04
What you feel. Yes, what you feel. That's right. You know, and you can be just as beautiful, just as sexy, you know, with a few pounds on it. Sure
39:13
Why not? All right. Now, here we go. I'm kind of a chubby chaser myself, actually
39:17
All right. I understand. Yeah. No, I am. I am. I do
39:22
So I like some more. A chubby chaser. Uh-huh. Yeah. All right
39:26
Now, we're just going to squirt our mousse. Okay. Just like that, Ruth
39:30
Now, this is the marachino cherries and what's the white? Oh, whipped cream
39:34
The gelatin and whipped cream. Oh, look. I've already done them all. Oh, well
39:38
Here. Here's you some more. Yeah, I'll do some more. Well, you know, in drag, more is more
39:43
And we always, we can just put some more up on there
39:48
Yes. Oh, that's cute. Look at that. Isn't that cute? I love it. I heard something that really surprised me
39:54
You love country music. I love me some Pam Tillis. Uh-uh. I love me some Aaron Tippin. Uh-uh
40:00
Oh, yes. And nobody better not touch Miss Tanya Tucker, honey. That is my girl
40:06
I love it. I love it. Gosh, we hadn't heard much from Tanya Tucker in a while
40:11
She's living in Malibu now. Oh, is she? Yes, she is. She's living it up
40:14
All right, you ask for ice cream? Yes, ma'am. So look-a-there. Oh, I love it
40:18
Can I start eating now? Anything for you? I want you to. Okay. And what about these
40:23
Do we place these? Uh-huh. Those cherries are not in season. Uh-huh
40:27
So these are raspberries, right? We'll just sit that right up there. Yes, these are raspberries
40:32
Oh, look at that. Because cherries are not in season. Uh-huh. And, you know, we can't forget to eat healthy
40:39
Uh-huh. And eat our vegetables. Look how pretty that is. Ain't that pretty
40:44
I love it. I love it. Yummy. So there you go. Okay
40:49
So you just eat away, girlfriend. All right, all right. Let's see
40:56
I make a fool of myself up in here. Eat one just like whole
41:02
So you can really taste the cherries. Isn't that delicious? And I help
41:11
You know what, Ruth? I can see why you're the queen of all divas
41:19
And you are the queen of all diva divas. I've had such a great time
