That looks good already, doesn't it
0:15
Hey, y'all, today I'm doing one of my favorite desserts. This is a pecan pie bar
0:20
I have gone through 1,500 million cake boxes. This is the main ingredient for our gooey butter cakes
0:26
and it's a great way to take a little shortcut if you're doing desserts at your house
0:31
I'm gonna melt one stick of butter and I've got my box of cake mix here
0:34
I've pulled out a third of it because I'm gonna use it in the top. But we're gonna do exactly what the directions say
0:40
I'm gonna crack one egg in here and I'm gonna add half a cup of butter
0:45
which is one stick of butter when this gets melted. Okay, our butter's melted enough, y'all
0:51
We're going into two thirds of a box of cake mix, one egg and one stick of butter
0:57
I'm going to mix this up. I've got some spray down in my pan
1:13
I'm going to press this down into the bottom. Make sure you get all of this
1:24
Super easy It easy and simple Have y had a chance to see the dunk tank that we shot
1:38
We played in a dunk tank yesterday. And my friend right here, Jamie Prescott, Gordon, y'all know
1:45
Gordon's a great guy. He loves to play games with the crew. There was one time he had a little coffee
1:50
can and a 50-cent piece. You could flip it over your shoulder without looking
1:55
and ring the can, you'd win an amount of money. So when we had the dunk tank here
1:59
Gordon said, from 45 feet, if anybody can dunk me, I'll give you $500
2:05
and I'll give $500 to the Bag Lady Foundation. And my man right there, JP, did it yesterday
2:11
It was awesome. Nice shot. Catch that on the network. Yep. So we got three eggs, y'all
2:17
This is going to be our top. Oh, wait, I almost forgot. I got to bake this off. So this is going to the oven a little bit
2:22
We're going to par-bake this. This is what it looks like. Almost a little bit like a shortbread
2:30
We've got one and a half cups of white corn syrup. Here's a third of our cake mix that I've held back
2:43
We've got half a cup of brown sugar. We've got half a cup, this is dark brown sugar
2:50
and two cups of bear's favorite pecans. We gave those a little rough chop And finally we gonna put in some vanilla extract One teaspoon Now let get this going
3:10
This is going to be more loose. This will pour easier than your cake mix part will
3:18
We've got a peach milkshake, y'all. It would be so good with these pecans
3:24
That could be your little Georgia treat day. I have pecan squares and peach milkshakes
3:34
Here, we're going to pour this on the top. Delicious. That looks good already, doesn't it
3:49
Okay, this is going to go in a 350 oven for 30 minutes. and here you go look how delicious that is you can see how the corn syrup and
4:01
the brown sugar has just made it so shiny and beautiful here we go
4:06
this is just like a pecan pie but you get to eat it in a bar
4:12
that looks good See how pretty that is
4:25
The bottom is crusty and the top is creamy Let try it You like pecans Gordo Oh God thanks for asking I was over there having a moment Take a look at Gordon Do you know what
4:38
I was thinking sitting over there. Why don't we have another one of those coin toss competitions right now
4:44
Okay. Let's do it. Let's put it down the sand, right? I love to play games. Come on out here
4:50
Anyone on the crew who gets it gets $1,000. Wow. That'll make that day interesting
4:55
Am I part of a crew? No. Oh. I'm not even sure if the coin will stick in the bowl
5:01
Oh, you don't even have to stick it in the bowl. Oh, sorry
5:13
It's going to be tough. Come on, Jen. Oh
5:22
You went for the bounce. Oh. So close. $1,000. Get it in
5:30
He's got a new baby. He needs it. Hey, Jamie, have some pretty can by
5:36
Everyone's a winner. Okay. So, Abby, you need to get back to work
