The last dish I'm preparing for y'all today is called Pecan Dreams
0:06
Pecan, pecan. Depends on where you're from. I'm going to start with flour and powdered sugar
0:15
Just going to kind of stir those together. I formulated this recipe with a buffet in mind because I thought it would just be a
0:24
great ending to a meal and people do love it. We're just gonna take a stick of butter
0:33
Imagine that. And an eight ounce package of softened cream cheese
0:42
I'm gonna kinda do it in chunks rather than just throw in the whole bar in
0:48
It'll be easier to cut in smaller pieces. If you like shortbread cookies
0:53
you're gonna love this recipe. And I do. the crumbly buttery flavor that you get from a shortbread We gonna cut the butter and the cream cheese into our flour and sugar mixture This is when a good man comes in handy you know
1:09
You can ask him if he'll just cut this in for you, and you pretend to fan around the refrigerator and be busy and working over there
1:16
And before you know it, he's done all the hard work. And you can see how crumbly it's going to be
1:24
And that's all about shortbread. Okay, we're there. So we're just gonna put this into a greased dish
1:35
because you want to make sure when you go to cut these that they're gonna come out nicely for you
1:39
Now I'm gonna just kind of work up my dough a little bit
1:44
to make sure all that loose flour and sugar down there is in there good
1:49
So don't ever hesitate. Girls, I feel like God gave me one of the best spoons
1:56
in the world right here. Okay. We got him packed in there good And now for the pecans Toss them around in there And then kind of press them down into your dough
2:15
Okay, we're going to put this in a 350 degree oven. And we're going to bake it for about 30 minutes
2:23
And the most important part of this dish is to make sure it's completely cooled
2:28
at the end of its cooking time. I have one that's already baked, and this one's been out cooling now for about two hours
2:35
and it's very important that you be able to touch your dish without any heat coming from it
2:41
because we're fixing to dress this with fresh whipped cream, and if you have heat coming from this, it'll break down your whipping cream
2:50
and you'll just have a runny mess all over it. So this is the most important step of this dessert
2:56
Now, I've already sweetened and whipped this cream, and I'm going to add toffee bits. Now this is found in the baking section at
3:05
the grocery store So it going to give our whipped cream a whole different twist And we just going to fold that in And it important also that your cream be whipped stiff enough And we
3:23
just going to scoop this right on the top. We're just going to spread this over the shortbread
3:34
I do love whipping cream. But I want to make sure that I grease my pan good enough so that it'll pop out
3:44
And I did. Look at that luscious shortbread. Can you see the layer of pecans in there
3:57
And then the toffee chips give your fresh whipped cream such nice texture
4:04
I think this is my favorite show so far
