Hit it! We're rewriting Christmas tradition history here. How is this loaf at
0:15
It's not. Let's bake it. Merry Christmas, y'all
0:36
Merry Christmas. It's our family's longest standing tradition. We actually have the Savannah Philharmonic Forest come to our house
0:46
Hey, guys. Wait. Hold on. Mama ain't here right now. Joy to the world
0:58
the Lord is come. Let earth receive her king. Let every heart
1:08
prepare him room. And heaven and nature sing. And heaven and nature sing
1:15
And heaven and nature sing. And heaven and nature sing. Okay, here you guys. Cut. Stop
1:24
Doesn't that make you want to eat some green cheese? I messed up y'all's entire song
1:31
We're doing Grinch bread this morning. It's like a gorilla bread, but since it's Christmas time, it's a naughty Grinch bread
1:37
Naughty. Bobby, have you ever had this? I know it's on your everyday menu. Are you kidding me if I ever had it
1:43
So it's like a monkey bread, and you make it with canned biscuits
1:47
This is one of the easiest recipes that you can do, and it smells so good
1:51
So what we're going to start with, because this is the Paul Dean Network, we've got some butter in here
1:55
We've got a stick of butter. Stick. And we're gonna use one cup of brown sugar
2:01
Now how about you guys just sing anytime you want. Did you bring anything else or is it just joy to the world this morning
2:07
You got a whole book. How about Frosty the Snowman? Y'all got Frosty
2:11
We sure don I stumped you with Frosty They laughed it but they scoffed at Frosty Well what do you got then Let do it that way Deck the Halls Let do Deck the Halls Deck the Halls with sticks of butter yes We rewriting Christmas tradition history here
2:25
We're fixing to Deck the Halls with sticks of butter. But first, I'm going to tell you what we have here
2:29
We've got half a cup of butter. We have one cup of brown sugar. Bobby's going to chop these nuts up
2:34
We're doing this in a bunt pan today. We're going to cut our cream cheese into 20 small cubes
2:39
We're going to push a cube of cream cheese down in the biscuit. and we're going to sprinkle it with some cinnamon and some granulated sugar
2:45
And, wow, that's a lot of spray. It is a lot of spray
2:50
I want to make sure it don't stick. I'm going to go ahead and line the bottom of this bun pan with some pecans
2:55
Now, what Brooke likes to do is we change up the nuts that we put in here. We use macadamia nuts at the house because both of our boys love those
3:01
but you can use cashews or you can use pecans. We're doing the low-fat version today because Bobby's here
3:07
and everything he does is low-fat. Just him being here takes out half the calories. How is this loaf at
3:12
It's not. Okay, hit it, guys. Deck the halls with smells of holly
3:18
That ain't it. That ain't it. That ain't it. Sticks of butter
3:22
Sticks of butter. You can put your books down. It's not in your book
3:27
I'm going to spray this knife. This will help go through the cream cheese a little bit better so it's not too sticky
3:32
I'm going to do this over the stick. Know it, live it, learn it. Sticks of butter. All right
3:37
Hit it. Hit it. Deck the halls, y'all. That's a good start
3:52
That was very good practice. We've completely thrown the chorus for a loop
3:57
They have no idea. Now, the second stanza is Deck the Halls with Clumps of Cream Cheese
4:03
Hit it, choir! Do it! Deck the Halls with Clumps of Cream Cheese
4:08
Fa la la la la la la la la That makes me so happy
4:12
Pack the biscuits with the cream cheese Pack the biscuits with the cream cheese
4:25
Fa la la la la la la la Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on the biscuits Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on the biscuits Sprinkle cinnamon cinnamon on the biscuits Welcome to the family Philharmonic
4:41
Oh, wait, Bob, we gotta put our brown sugar down in our butter
4:47
No, it's on top. No, and you gotta sprinkle cream cheese and sh-hold on, Bob
4:51
No, you sprinkle it after you put them in there. And you gotta put the cinnamon in
4:56
I disagree with this recipe. Okay. We'll put just a little bit down here
5:01
so you can see it because the bottom is gonna be the top. Put your brother in the face
5:13
And hit it. Put your brother in the face. La la la la la la la la
5:20
All right. That was my favorite line so far. That's hilarious
5:30
I like having a choir. It's nice, isn't it? Mm-hmm. I don't think they quite know what to do with it, so..
5:36
I don't think they do that. Punch your brother in the face
5:40
They will say anything that we ask them to say. Line the bunt pan with the biscuits
5:47
Line the bunt pan with the biscuits. So mom usually spent most of the holidays making different kinds of candies and stuff
5:59
but monkey bread has always been something that mom has done, and this is a tradition that Brooke has started with our family, too
6:05
It's so good, it's like homemade hot cinnamon rolls, but it's so easy. Oh, that's the butter and brown sugar
6:09
This is the butter and brown sugar, and it's kind of a paste, so I'm not going to really be able to pour it on there, but I'm going to clump it in
6:16
and then all this is going to bake together, and it's kind of like a knot bread, too
6:20
as it rises and kind of all comes together. Just all these flavors incorporate together
6:26
and when it comes out and you turn it upside down, you're able to pull it apart. And it's just like the easiest homemade cinnamon rolls
6:33
that you'll ever have. It's Naughty Naughty Grinch bread. Mmm. Am I going to use all this sugar
6:40
No. That's a lot of sugar. Nah, you're good. Beautiful. Let's bake it
6:44
Okay, y'all, let's go into the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes Oh Mmm Smells like Christmas Now this is the tricky part We going to get our plate make sure you don
6:57
burn your hands, and we're going to flip it over. Ready. That's hot. Yeah
7:12
It was in the oven. We're still cooking with heat. I don't know
7:23
It's going to be close. Oh. Well. It's good enough nobody complains about free food. Yeah
7:47
We can build this back together. It doesn't look great. This is what you do if this happens, y'all
7:52
Make sure that you don't do it in front of your company. Give yourself plenty of time to correct your mistakes
7:58
and we can still make it look pretty. Look, this is almost like a praline with all this sugar and the pecans on top
8:04
I don't know if you can make that look pretty. Yeah, we're going to make it look pretty. See, that doesn't look so bad
8:10
No, but you just... Because look what we're going to do with it now. Now we're going to start pulling it apart
8:15
You know what? Some holly would be pretty on there. It's not too bad looking
8:22
All righty. Thank you. This is delicious. Y'all want to try it home? Yeah
8:32
This is a really perfect Christmas morning treat because it's so sweet and it's warm
8:36
and it just tastes like love. Brooke likes to make it for our boys. The only thing better than eating it is sharing it
8:42
So I'm going to share it with our friends. Y'all check it out. And we've got an eggnog recipe on the Paula D. Network
8:47
that would go perfect with this Naughty Grinch bread. Mmm. Y'all are going to need a napkin
8:59
Put your brother in the face. Fa la la la la la la la la la
