Mamas Acorn Squash

Next, KC, we're going to do a delicious side dish I call Mama's Acorn Squash

You know, my family's from Atlanta. I know! My aunt was an amazing cook

And then, when you get them cut, all I want you to do is just scoop those seeds out

I'm going to mix a small can of crushed pineapple, brown sugar, and butter together

And I'm going to just heat it until it's kind of syrupy. Mama always stuffed our acorn squash with pineapple and brown sugar and butter

That sounds great. And it's good. It's like a sweet vegetable. My Aunt Alice, my daddy's oldest sister, was a major cook

I used to love her peach cobbler. Oh, really? I always look forward to going up there because I look forward to having that tomato

Three tablespoons of brown sugar. Kind of heaping. A good Georgia tomato with mayonnaise

Half a stick of butter. And we're going to melt this. Okay

And put a piece of foil on it so we won't do a lot of scrubbing because this can get messy in the oven

Yes, ma'am. That's coming out of me. I'm just going to let this cook until it forms the syrup

Now, put a little bit of salt and pepper in there. Not a lot because you know I got the brown sugar and the pineapple going on So I going to cut that up Okay All right Well I think we ready here He says a lot He says like peek The phone rings goes hello

So what do we do here? We put everything inside of here? Yes. Okay. And don't you think a little cinnamon is in order

I think that would be great. Yes. Cinnamon is good for everything, I think

Cinnamon is so good for you. In fact, the doctor told me to eat cinnamon on every occasion

Really? If it was a food that would go with cinnamon, put it on it
