- Hey, everybody, I'm Bobby Deen
0:01
and I'm here with another great recipe for you today.
0:04
This one's going to be a barbecue sauce.
0:06
You know, Labor Day is here, fast approaching,
0:08
and we're all out around our grills.
0:10
I know I was this past weekend.
0:12
We're all out around the grill
0:13
and doing all these meats,
0:15
the steaks and the tenderloins and chickens on the grill
0:20
We all need a good barbecue sauce in our pocket.
0:23
Not literally, but you need a good recipe in your pocket.
0:25
And there are so many different ones out there,
0:28
but one I really like
0:29
is one that we add teriyaki sauce and honey to.
0:32
And it's pretty versatile.
0:33
I would say it'd be great with any kind of chicken.
0:36
Definitely with a pork tenderloin.
0:38
If you're doing kebabs or anything like that
0:41
for Labor Day for your guests,
0:42
this would be a good barbecue sauce for you to try.
0:45
So we're going to start out in a sauce pan
0:47
with some butter and some onion.
0:53
And we're quickly going to go to a break here
0:55
because this is going to have to cook
0:56
for about five minutes or so.
0:58
I'm going to also add some garlic,
0:59
but I'm going to give this onion just a minute
1:02
to incorporate with the butter
1:03
and get a little translucency going for me.
1:06
So in a couple of minutes,
1:08
I'm going to drop in the garlic,
1:09
and we'll take a break right now
1:11
and come back and we'll see it all ready.
1:13
Our butter and onion is nice and fragrant,
1:16
looking and smelling just right.
1:17
So I'm going to go ahead and add the garlic.
1:19
Remember, garlic burns.
1:21
So you usually don't want to add that right away.
1:27
And just give it a couple of minute to...
1:31
Not even a couple of minutes really.
1:32
Garlic is just quick.
1:34
It's one of those things.
1:37
Really adds a lot though.
1:38
So that looks really, really nice.
1:40
I've turned my heat up a little bit.
1:47
I've got some cooking happening now.
1:49
So we'll go ahead and add to that
1:51
the expected ingredient, ketchup.
1:58
You know, we were talking earlier about this barbecue sauce
2:03
and some of the things we'd like to eat it with or on.
2:08
Chicken I think is obvious.
2:12
Would be great with a pork chop or a tenderloin.
2:15
But I think that this might even be good with salmon.
2:19
I cook lots of salmon at my house.
2:22
I think I would enjoy a little bit of this with salmon.
2:32
These are the two very, very expected ingredients
2:36
in our barbecue sauce.
2:50
Already a nice dipping sauce (chuckles).
2:57
Maybe even, I don't know, shrimp?
3:02
So many things that you can do with barbecue sauce.
3:08
I think that might be good with shrimp too.
3:11
I'm going to say that shrimp and salmon
3:15
this would be good with.
3:21
Worcestershire sauce,
3:25
our teriyaki, which I like so much.
3:31
Always been a big fan of teriyaki.
3:35
And teriyaki again goes...
3:39
Teriyaki, again, goes real well with chicken, pork, fish.
3:48
Yeah, that already, man, that smells so nice.
3:53
And we're going to add, lastly,
3:56
some honey to our barbecue sauce.
4:04
I'm liking that already.
4:25
I should have just taken the lid off.
4:30
Too late to turn back now.
4:42
Yeah, it's going to be great.
4:46
Going to take this down really low.
4:50
Cook it for a few minutes.
4:53
And the beauty about this is we can,
4:56
after we've cooked it, it's not going to take long,
4:59
after we've cooked it, we can cover it
5:00
and you could chill this.
5:03
By chill it, I mean put it in the fridge
5:06
and keep it for a week or so,
5:09
so you could eat this throughout the week.
5:10
You could make multiple meals.
5:18
The aroma's really nice.
5:20
Can't wait to give it a try.
5:21
So Labor Day weekend,
5:24
if you're grilling, barbecuing, what have you,
5:30
a great barbecue sauce for you to try.
5:41
And I think you will too.
5:42
And again, for about a week, you can have it in the fridge.
5:44
So here's your Labor Day barbecue sauce.
5:46
I hope that you enjoy.
