0:00
- Hey, everybody, it's Bobby here.
0:01
And look, the weather's getting warmer,
0:03
we're into spring, almost summertime.
0:06
It's a great time of year.
0:07
It's time to start doing burgers
0:08
and some hearty foods like that,
0:11
so today I wanna share with you a great turkey burger recipe
0:14
with an avocado spread for the top.
0:17
So, we're gonna start with the avocado spread, okay?
0:20
I'm gonna go ahead and cut into my first avocado.
0:25
I'm gonna use one and a half avocados.
0:33
that one looks really good.
0:34
Be careful when you go to get the seed out,
0:37
but that's how you do it, just with the blade of your knife,
0:41
and it should pop right out.
0:44
Avocado into the bowl.
0:47
You know, we were just having a conversation about avocados,
0:50
Theresa and Ed and I,
0:53
and they are wonderful and they're very good for you.
0:57
They're high in fat, but it's a good fat.
1:02
"Do you think you could eat an avocado every day?"
1:04
And I said, "Well, I do."
1:10
So, but avocado is one of my favorite things,
1:14
and we eat lots of them,
1:16
so we'll use this in lieu of like a mayonnaise,
1:22
Avocado spread, nice, super good.
1:28
We are not in California, so,
1:31
whenever we can get a good ripe avocado like that,
1:35
Sometimes they have to sit on the
1:38
counter for a couple days.
1:39
These did, these sat on the counter for two days,
1:43
but they are beautiful and ready to go.
1:46
I got one half of an avocado here for-
1:51
maybe just eat. - Or you can have a bunch.
1:53
- So, beautiful avocado.
1:55
I've gotten it out of the shell.
1:57
Put it into a bowl here,
1:59
and I'm gonna go ahead and add some lime juice.
2:02
At my house, I squeeze fresh lemons over my avocado.
2:07
It's a nice preservative.
2:09
It'll keep the avocados from turning brown on you.
2:12
It'll hold it for a little while.
2:14
I'm gonna go ahead and mash it up.
2:15
I use a potato masher also with my avocados,
2:19
and it really does the trick.
2:21
And the lime juice that's in the bowl
2:23
with the avocado will,
2:27
you know, help break it up.
2:30
Now we could go with just this,
2:34
but we're gonna jazz it up a little bit.
2:36
I'm gonna add to that some sour cream.
2:59
And this will be the topping, the spread for our buns.
3:03
(Bobby cheering quietly)
3:06
Okay, so let's stick this in the fridge.
3:09
and we'll come back and get the burgers started.
3:12
I've got my avocado spread ready
3:14
and it's tucked away in the fridge,
3:15
and now we're gonna begin on the turkey burgers.
3:17
Now listen, first things first, it's a turkey burger.
3:21
I'm open-minded, I like all kinds of burgers.
3:23
I like turkey burgers, I like chicken burgers,
3:25
I love good ground beef burgers.
3:28
So, but today, it's turkey.
3:30
If you want to use ground beef, it's up to you.
3:33
This recipe would work with ground beef also,
3:34
but these flavors go very well with the turkey burger.
3:38
So, for the burgers themselves,
3:41
I'm chopping right now some cilantro.
3:44
And if you don't like cilantro,
3:45
'cause I know that half of you out there just went,
3:49
if you don't like cilantro, you could use parsley,
3:51
and it'll give a nice just sprinkle
3:54
of green color into your recipe,
3:57
and parsley is much less flavorful than cilantro.
4:03
I'm gonna add the three tablespoons of cilantro.
4:14
A little chipotle seasoning,
4:35
And with the microplane,
4:36
I'm gonna add about a
4:40
maybe a teaspoon of lemon zest.
4:43
Excuse me, lime zest, which is gonna brighten it up.
4:48
I'm gonna go ahead by hand and get this mixed,
4:51
and then we'll patty 'em up.
4:52
So, as I'm blending our flavors together with our turkey,
4:59
maybe we should take one break, and we'll come right back.
5:03
Okay, everybody, the turkey is looking good.
5:06
I'm getting everything combined.
5:10
the feel of it was telling me
5:11
that it was gonna be hard to patty,
5:14
so I added a little bit of Panko to it.
5:16
I added about a half cup of Panko,
5:18
just to give it a little body
5:20
and sort of help me with the patties.
5:25
But, this is coming together real nicely.
5:29
You can see that pop of green in there,
5:31
that cilantro is gonna give a nice, nice flavor.
5:35
And with the lime zest, man,
5:38
I bet these are gonna be super, super good, right?
5:42
So, let's get a liberal amount of the turkey together,
5:46
and start making some patties.
5:54
The turkey burgers look amazing.
5:56
I've just washed my hands,
5:57
so I'm gonna use a spat here to get my
6:01
patties into the air fryer.
6:04
Oh, what am I thinking?
6:11
Air fryer's gonna hold about 2 patties at a time,
6:17
so 2 nice, big turkey patties,
6:20
365 for 15 minutes total.
6:23
At about 7 minutes, I'm gonna turn them over,
6:26
so let's go ahead and get started.
6:28
Look at that beautiful, beautiful turkey burger,
6:32
just out of the oven.
6:34
That thing is piping hot, smells wonderful.
6:40
Use a little bit of our avocado sour cream spread
6:48
(Bobby grunting affirmatively)
6:55
Beautiful, living lettuce.
7:06
So, pickles would be good,
7:09
but I don't have a pickle.
7:10
We'll go just like this.
7:12
Look at that beautiful, beautiful turkey burger.
7:30
(Bobby grunting affirmatively)
7:40
Very, very, very good.
7:44
Very, very, very good.
7:46
The flavors from the turkey burger are light,
7:52
You got the cumin, little bit of salt,
7:54
they're nice, umami, seasoned flavor.
7:58
I could eat a couple of them because I don't have fries,
8:00
I think I'll have two.
8:02
All right, thanks, everybody.
