- Hey, I'm Jamie Deen and Theresa's caught back up with me
0:03
here at The Chicken Box.
0:04
We're talking about the big game,
0:06
and what are some delicious things
0:08
that you could prepare easily at home
0:10
to carry off to your party for the big game?
0:13
Lots of different things.
0:14
We've already done a salsa for this season.
0:18
Oh my gosh, I've done so many tailgating things.
0:20
Today, I haven't done this for tailgating yet:
0:24
Mama said, "Wicked hens lay deviled eggs,"
0:27
and today we're gonna check out this recipe
0:30
that uses a little bit of the salsa
0:33
that we've made in an earlier video for y'all.
0:35
These are Southwest deviled eggs.
0:38
Really easy to put together and delicious.
0:41
Y'all, we've got six eggs,
0:42
we've cut 'em in half,
0:43
I've taken the yolks out.
0:45
I need one and a half tablespoons of sour cream.
0:53
Gonna put about a third of a cup of mayonnaise in here.
0:57
I don't know if we're gonna need a whole third.
1:01
Let's see how that whips up.
1:04
We're also gonna add two tablespoons,
1:07
let me get a clean spoon.
1:12
Two tablespoons of the salsa that we've made.
1:14
This is fresh tomatoes, onions, cilantro, jalapenos.
1:19
Got some lime juice in it.
1:23
A little bit of cumin, which I love, too.
1:26
This is gonna be a very robust deviled egg.
1:30
Mainly I just made 'em with a little mayonnaise,
1:32
a little mustard, little salt and pepper.
1:39
(staff talking in background)
1:42
How much cheese am I gonna put in there?
1:44
Three tablespoons of shredded cheese.
1:46
God, that is Southwestern.
1:49
Got our salsa, got our sour cream,
1:51
got our cheese, our egg yolks.
1:54
This is really good-looking.
2:01
I might've put a little bit too much liquid in here,
2:06
I think it's from our salsa.
2:08
I didn't take time to drain off the fresh salsa
2:11
Now, before I pipe this, we're gonna taste it
2:18
and make sure that it's got some flavor that I like.
2:28
Let's take a quick break here.
2:29
I'm gonna put together a piping bag
2:31
and we'll get our eggs stuffed.
2:33
That doesn't need one thing but my lips on it.
2:35
See y'all in a minute.
2:36
All right, y'all, as usual, I missed something.
2:40
Thank goodness Theresa's here.
2:43
We've got a little bit of green onion
2:45
that we're gonna add in here.
2:47
I like to have a little bit of onion.
2:51
So now that we've got that working,
2:52
that looks really pretty.
2:54
Let's do the old piping bag trick.
2:57
Okay, so I have our Ziploc bag here.
2:59
I'm gonna take corner off right there.
3:08
There's lots of different ways y'all could do this.
3:09
This sure is the easiest way to do it
3:12
is make yourself a little piping bag.
3:15
You can spoon it in if you want.
3:17
Lord knows I've done it that way a million times.
3:28
Work this down into our corner.
3:39
It's been sitting on the counter.
3:40
And once I put these in the fridge,
3:44
they will tighten up for us.
3:46
I made my hole for my piping a little bit bigger
3:49
'cause once again, we have homemade salsa in here.
3:53
This is a little bit more chunky.
3:56
All right y'all, I got it all piped in there.
4:00
Cut a little bit of green onion.
4:02
I put just a touch of black pepper on top of it.
4:07
Then I have this container which makes it so easy
4:09
to pack up, and we're out the door for the big game.
4:13
So what do you think?
4:14
Deviled eggs this year?
4:19
Hey, thanks for tuning in today, y'all.
4:20
I'm Jamie Deen, this is good food.
4:22
I'll see y'all around the kitchen.
4:26
Hey, y'all, it's Paula Deen.
