Hey y'all, I'm fixing to
0:02
introduce y'all to another one of my
0:04
favorite spots and it's called Sherry's
0:08
Honey Pot Fabrics and more. So, come on
0:12
in. I want to introduce you this year.
0:15
Y'all, this is my friend Sherry.
0:18
How are you?
0:19
>> So good. You look so beautiful. Oh,
0:21
thank you, honey.
0:23
And I love your new haircut.
0:25
>> Oh, well, it's you know
0:28
>> [laughter]
0:28
>> I know. I know.
0:32
I do what I can do.
0:33
>> Well, you look great. Phenomenal, girl.
0:35
>> Thank you. Y'all, Sherry You know, the
0:38
the
0:39
strange thing about this to me, Sherry
0:43
is I've been curious the only fabric
0:45
shop here in Savannah now. So, I'm a
0:47
teacher. Oh, well, the chain's closed,
0:48
didn't they? They did. Oh, that's too
0:50
bad.
0:51
>> It is.
0:53
>> [laughter]
0:54
>> But I mean it is terrible that you can't
0:56
go touch any of the wool, does I know.
0:58
That's the best of them. They're You
1:00
know, yeah, cuz I don't like to order
1:02
things like this
1:04
over the web.
1:06
Uh all the colors are just not the end
1:08
and the dye lots are different. You just
1:10
They're they're just different. You
1:12
know, they make them use those filters
1:14
and make them look so good. Well, what's
1:16
happening? You've changed You've changed
1:18
some things around. Well, we're we're
1:20
actually changing a lot around in the
1:22
future. We're going to open all this up
1:24
and then
1:25
open this area up and use that as our
1:27
checkout center. It is one of them.
1:30
Y'all order This is Marvin. Hey Marvin,
1:33
how are you? That's the one that makes
1:35
it all work around here. Ain't that
1:37
wonderful? He's wonderful. And Drew and
1:40
Shazi there, they do the They're still
1:42
married. They're getting everybody in
1:44
shape.
1:45
You have to tell them about Sand Paws
1:46
and Paws cuz they And I'll never get out
1:49
there, but I would love to. I'm going to
1:51
shake my poor purse. Yeah. And here I
1:53
was looking at all your stuff. I want
1:55
people
1:56
uh to be aware that come and visit
1:59
Savannah that you're here. Thank you. I
2:01
appreciate it. We're all very in
2:03
transition. We're kind of a in a mess
2:05
right this second, but we know don't we
2:07
always stay in a transition?
2:09
I do. Yes, we're always transitioning
2:13
and not can't hardly say it much less do
2:15
it.
2:16
So tell us how how you got started in
2:18
town Deborah. Oh my.
2:20
Well, it was sort of a
2:23
family thing. My cousin actually is in
2:25
Shelby and he's Uh-huh. sort of a
2:28
dealer's dealer in furniture. And so
2:32
one day somebody was talking to me about
2:35
going up and helping buy some furniture
2:37
and I said, well, I know somebody who
2:40
has access so I'll just bring the
2:42
furniture to you. So I opened a little
2:44
space just I'm I'm a realtor by trade so
2:46
that that that was that was what I did
2:48
for many many years. You know, I didn't
2:50
know that about you. I didn't know that
2:52
you were a realtor. Um Penny was telling
2:55
me
2:57
that your first store was downtown.
2:59
That's when I met her first met her.
3:01
>> And I was so busy I never knew about
3:03
that place. It it was at the the actual
3:06
very first store furniture. Somebody
3:09
asked me when I was up hauling furniture
3:11
one day somebody said, do you want to
3:13
take this load of fabric? And my cousin
3:15
who was in the business said, you you're
3:17
crazy if you take a a load of fabric. I
3:20
did anyway.
3:21
And and then the rest is history. I mean
3:23
the fabric was so much more fun and so
3:25
much easier to handle than selling and
3:27
that heavy furniture. Well, I when I
3:30
come in here I tell you I just go weak
3:31
in the knees when I see her pillows.
3:35
I love pillows.
3:38
I like some room. It does make a room.
3:41
And
3:42
you know,
3:43
you can tell people
3:46
when they get tired of their look, how
3:48
easy and inexpensive
3:51
things that they can do. It It
3:53
completely changes and that's that's
3:55
exactly right. It's the the least
3:57
expensive, most fun way to change
4:00
anything up in a
4:02
in a minute. Listen, I I think I have a
4:04
pillow fetish.
4:06
>> [laughter]
4:06
>> You and me both, honey.
4:08
You remember my attic at the other
4:10
house, Sadie? I I couldn't forget.
4:12
>> [laughter]
4:12
>> What all those pillows up there? Cuz I
4:14
just swap them all out. It I mean, it
4:16
looked like a home HomeGoods. Uh it it
4:19
is shelves after shelves of But they
4:22
come back around. But we did, yeah.
4:25
We definitely used them. No. Rotated
4:28
them. So you want to start with your
4:29
pillows? We can do that. Now, we we're
4:31
about to get a new crop in and we're
4:33
actually a new crop. I love that.
4:45
I can move all this away. Now you can
4:47
move rashly. And we got wallpaper now,
4:49
so I don't Oh my goodness, no. Oh my
4:52
goodness. You needed wallpaper. Dad
4:54
needed wallpaper. Wallpaper is back in
4:57
such a big way.
4:58
Yes. We were just about putting up to
5:01
put our inserts up, but we've got
5:03
anything from oh, anything and
5:05
everything. We carry a lot of Thibaut
5:07
pillows, which is which is something
5:09
that
5:10
many many many Now, what's a Thibaut?
5:11
>> Thibaut is a
5:12
uh fabric and Oh. It's a very popular
5:15
brand of fabric. That that little cute
5:18
little spotted up there is Scalamandre,
5:20
actually. Um
5:22
Calico Corners,
5:23
anything and everything. Lots of
5:25
different brands of fabrics and and we
5:27
just try to keep
5:30
4 or 500 in stock all the time.
5:32
>> Oh my goodness.
5:32
>> All these hanging up. I need some
5:34
pillows this size, Sadie.
5:37
You know
5:37
>> We have plenty. I had to order
5:39
10,000 in order to get
5:41
>> You know, when when we moved back into
5:44
our forever home that we built when we
5:45
married, I came in and I bought every
5:49
damn pillow, huge pillow from you.
5:52
Uh and now they're so big you can't sit
5:55
in the chair. It's either the pillow or
5:57
you. One has to go.
6:00
And I really do need to
6:03
downsize my pillow size, right, Eddie?
6:06
You I mean on some of the chairs, yeah.
6:09
Well, and and the lumbars are so that
6:12
the little red pillows are so popular
6:14
now.
6:14
>> Yeah.
6:15
>> That's probably what you need instead of
6:16
a right Yeah, I mean they're big they're
6:18
all that size.
6:20
>> [snorts and laughter]
6:22
>> They're pretty to look at, though.
6:26
So, you can come in here and buy any
6:28
size pillow you want and uh I can't
6:31
believe you've got wallpaper.
6:33
>> We got wallpaper. You carry Schumacher
6:36
and all that?
6:37
>> We do. We do. We've got it These are
6:40
just
6:40
single samples over here, but those are
6:42
some of the higher end, but Schumacher,
6:44
Phillip Jeffries, uh Thibaut good old
6:48
wallpaper books all day long.
6:52
Uh there was some and actually it just
6:53
went out. Look how pretty those two are
6:55
together.
6:56
That was just I think the wallpaper's
6:59
just become so popular that people are
7:02
papering their ceilings, they're
7:04
papering Yes.
7:05
Yes.
7:07
Yeah, I love it. I mean I do, too.
7:09
>> nut. I do, too. I do, too.
7:12
But it can get pricey. Yes, it
7:15
It can get pricey. We we all
7:18
ask
7:19
ask when they come in, you know, Yeah.
7:21
Do you Do you want your heart to
7:22
palpitate or do
7:24
>> [laughter]
7:24
>> Yes. Do you want to make your husband
7:26
happy? Yes.
7:28
Uh
7:29
that that's exactly right.
7:31
Because uh
7:34
you just need to make sure
7:37
before that wallpaper goes up that you
7:40
can be happy with it years from now.
7:42
>> Years from now. And it is all this take
7:45
care. It is timeless. That's what I
7:47
mean.
7:47
>> Uh-huh. That's pretty. It has to be. Let
7:49
me get out of your way. No, you're not
7:51
you you're the star.
7:52
>> [laughter]
7:53
>> You're the star in that pretty fabric.
7:57
That is pretty. That's another Kibbe
7:58
fabric and those are ready-made
8:00
draperies. They um Well, they're
8:01
beautiful.
8:04
They're really pretty. They're pinch
8:05
pleat. It's just cute as I can be.
8:07
Beautiful. 220
8:11
Now, most of we we try to stock
8:15
a good bit of fabric, right? Um that
8:18
kind of goes as fast as it gets here. So
8:20
>> Yeah. And if anybody
8:22
needs to order Yes. We got
8:26
this way.
8:27
Wow, you have expanded this room cuz
8:30
this used to be like your
8:32
long office
8:34
We
8:35
We put a lot We packed a lot, probably
8:37
too much because it gets a little over
8:38
full. No, I love it.
8:40
I love it.
8:43
And this is Amanda. She's a frequent
8:45
flyer over Hey. Hey, Amanda.
8:47
>> Hi, Paula. How are you? I am um
8:51
Kirk Sills's
8:53
cousin and all back in the day used to
8:56
hang out with Dean. Way back back in the
8:59
day.
9:02
She's a designer in a beer. Oh, and she
9:04
looks pretty enough to be on camera.
9:07
So, what are you designing now? I'm
9:09
doing something for myself. Good for
9:12
you.
9:12
>> Yes, I got a
9:14
some chairs that I need to reupholster
9:16
and this is this is my drapes and this
9:18
is my sofa and this is what I have on my
9:22
chairs right now, but my crusty husband
9:25
has
9:27
made it look ugly with it, you know,
9:29
putting his hands on
9:30
then then it's all falling apart. So,
9:32
I'm having to reupholster this.
9:34
>> I have I have white sofa and every time
9:36
somebody comes in my house, this is the
9:38
first thing they do.
9:39
>> put it Cuz the back of my sofa is, you
9:41
know, or used to be.
9:43
Put the hand right there and I could see
9:45
a soiled spot. And they run their hands
9:48
like
9:48
>> Yeah. And you have animals.
9:50
Yes.
9:51
>> Can't have anything pretty.
9:52
>> So this is pretty. What are you going to
9:53
do with this one? Well, I'm all this I'm
9:55
looking to reupholster this chair and
9:57
then this is an option. This is an
9:59
option. This is an option. This is an
10:01
option.
10:02
>> Oh, honey, I love
10:03
I love this. I do, too.
10:05
I like this, too.
10:08
Hello, Miss Diane. Yeah, and I but I
10:10
have some other fabrics that I'm working
10:12
with is I have See, I have some zebra
10:15
print in there. So I can't get too
10:18
crazy.
10:19
That goes with my zebra print.
10:21
>> Yes. And I have a big coffee table
10:24
that's upholstered in that. Oh, wow.
10:28
See all these neat ideas?
10:31
I'm just taking people around on my
10:34
YouTube show to some of my favorite
10:36
places in town.
10:39
This guy that is Wow.
10:45
That's beautiful.
10:48
Wow.
10:50
I wouldn't want anybody to sit on it.
10:53
I think it'd be beautiful drapery,
10:54
though. Yes. Yes. That way nobody can
10:58
sit on it.
10:58
>> Nobody can sit on it.
10:59
>> [laughter]
11:00
>> Just the cats can climb. Uh-huh, and
11:02
scratch on it.
11:03
Oh, makes me want to throw up to think
11:05
about this.
11:06
>> [laughter]
11:06
>> Me too.
11:08
Well, that is beautiful. I just love all
11:11
these bold See, I love this.
11:15
Isn't that sweet? I've got that in stock
11:17
in pink, actually. That's That's That is
11:19
precious. Really cute. I love it.
11:25
And see, that's why I said Thibaut was
11:26
just so popular. They
11:28
got the greatest patterns and colors and
11:30
so forth. Just remember this, Eddie.
11:33
Oh, and it just got some new
11:37
trim.
11:40
Love me some trim. Look at this. What is
11:43
this?
11:44
It's wide tapes. Wow, aren't they
11:46
pretty?
11:48
And they're from
11:49
White House it.
11:51
That one's beautiful, lady. That one.
11:53
Yeah, that Oh, wow. Look at that one.
11:57
There's some
11:59
heavier stuff in here.
12:02
And I mean, that's
12:04
I would think maybe down from This is
12:06
another way, y'all, that you can take
12:10
you can take ready-made drapes
12:13
and and put a trim on it.
12:16
>> And we Listen, we glue our trims on with
12:19
a glue gun.
12:20
A lot of people do the same thing. And
12:22
that can change your room
12:24
totally.
12:24
>> That one's a pretty one.
12:26
Beautiful.
12:29
Really pretty. Oh.
12:32
And I love the width of this.
12:36
It's it love the width. And the other
12:39
thing that people have been doing is is
12:42
putting some of these trims down the
12:43
center of a chair.
12:45
Yeah. Just right down the middle and a
12:48
wing back chair and you've got a wide
12:50
tape down the Now, what what say if you
12:52
were going to use this one, what fabric
12:55
would you
12:57
I would probably use either a heavy
12:59
linen Uh-huh.
13:00
>> or um
13:02
something that was a little more
13:03
substantial. I mean, you you could do a
13:05
you could do a a velvet. It'd be
13:07
gorgeous on with velvet.
13:09
>> Yes, wouldn't that be beautiful?
13:11
>> Mhm.
13:13
That would be gorgeous.
13:18
Well, I hope y'all have had a good time
13:19
today
13:21
Well, thank you
13:21
>> coming with me and visiting one of my
13:23
favorite favorite places,
13:26
Sherry's Honey
13:29
That's right. You're one of my favorite
13:31
favorite people, so thank you, Sherry,
13:34
and I'm
13:35
just so happy for your success and your
13:37
talent,
13:39
your ability to imagine and see.
13:43
So, come on in. She'll help you find
13:46
your perfect fabric, your perfect trim,
13:50
your perfect pillow.
13:52
>> [laughter]
13:53
>> And you'll have fun doing it.
13:55
We always do. Thank you so much. I
13:57
appreciate it.
13:58
>> You're so welcome, my dear. I love to
14:00
see women do good. Well, it that that's
14:03
the fun part about this entire complex.
14:05
I think there nine women own businesses
14:08
in this whole place, and
14:10
>> great? I think it's fantastic. That is
14:12
great.
14:14
But, we would love to see everybody.
14:16
And I want them to see you, honey.
