- As promised, y'all,
0:04
I said that I was going to share some ideas
0:07
with y'all for the one sheet pan meal,
0:12
because I just think it'll be a perfect fit
0:15
for you folks out there,
0:17
you men and women that's short on time.
0:20
So this is a good one.
0:22
It's gonna be smoked sausage, which I love, smoked sausage,
0:27
fresh broccoli, I mean Brussels sprouts, and apple.
0:32
So the first thing we're gonna do
0:33
is take our Brussels sprouts that we've cut in two.
0:38
We are gonna add one tablespoon of water,
0:42
and we're gonna put it in the microwave
0:44
for three to four minutes to soften it up,
0:46
because even though these are little,
0:50
they're hard as rocks. (chuckles)
0:53
And they gonna need a little help getting tender.
0:56
So three to four minutes, y'all.
0:58
So while our Brussels sprouts are getting soft,
1:02
I'm gonna (water splashing)
1:05
slice up a Pink Lady apple.
1:09
I just love little Pink Ladies.
1:13
And the recipe may tell you to chop,
1:16
but I'm just gonna slice it,
1:23
'cause I'm afraid if I chop it, it might just,
1:25
(knife thuds) you know, cook to mush.
1:29
So I'm gonna have to get a little paring knife.
1:35
That knife's a little big for me to handle.
1:38
So no need in peeling or anything,
1:41
just core it. (apple crunching)
1:47
Like I said, I love a Pink Lady,
1:51
and they were on sale this week at the grocery store,
1:54
so nice little bonus.
1:59
Once in a while, you hit a bonus.
2:05
Now, we're gonna take our honey.
2:09
I'm gonna take our apple back out for a minute.
2:12
I'm gonna take some honey,
2:22
and I'm gonna mix it with a tablespoon
2:36
Why are these tops giving me such problems lately?
2:44
So anyway, I'm just going, oops, (chuckles)
2:50
and get us about a tablespoon out.
3:01
Okay, I hear our microwave chirping at us,
3:04
so I'm gonna go get that out of the microwave,
3:07
and we'll be ready to toss, toss, toss.
3:18
(microwave door slamming)
3:21
All right, I think that's tender enough.
3:36
You can see the steam coming off of this.
3:42
Okay. All right. Now how much olive oil?
3:46
I can't remember about that.
4:10
Just mix those up real good. Good.
4:15
And then I'm gonna take our apples
4:20
and our Brussels sprouts
4:24
and toss them in that sweet,
4:27
sweet, tangy mustard and honey sauce.
4:37
And I'm going to add a little bit
4:45
maybe a smidge and more.
4:55
I think I'm gonna put some cracked pepper on it.
5:02
I really do like cracked pepper.
5:06
For some reason, it's not as hot.
5:10
All right, gonna add our apples
5:15
and make sure they're nice and coated as well.
5:49
(veggies and fruits thud)
5:54
Onto the cookie sheet.
6:04
This is gonna be really, really tasty.
6:06
I think y'all gonna like it.
6:09
And then depending on how many people you're serving,
6:24
that probably would've served four people, but.
6:31
I sprayed it with just a little of my olive oil spray.
6:34
So that's what you see on the sausage.
6:43
are gonna go all in our Brussels sprouts and our apples.
6:47
And again, you're gonna add anything
6:50
that you really, really like to it.
6:54
I would probably, on a good day, I had some bad days.
6:59
I'd probably like a vi day in there.
7:02
Okay, I got our one cookie sheet meal
7:05
in the oven at 425 for 25 minutes. (clapping)
7:11
It's going to be good.
7:12
Look what we've got here.
7:17
I love Brussels sprouts
7:26
and see how the honey ran off of it
7:29
and turned real dark like a syrup.
7:33
Mm, this is wonderful.
7:39
Wonderful, wonderful piece of french bread, and I am home.
7:46
George, are you getting hungry again?
7:50
- [George] I'll taste something. I always taste something.
7:53
- [George] You know, that sprouts came out really soft.
7:57
- That's because I cooked them
7:58
in the microwave for three and a half minutes.
8:02
But I love when the little outside leaves
8:09
And I can already pick up that flavor from the sausage.
8:14
- [George] You can take the apple to the back.
8:19
- [George] Apple goes to the back.
8:33
It's a wonderful combination.
8:34
- [George] Yeah. Even I could do this.
8:40
- Oh, that's why we're doing these for people
8:44
that like to feel like they're producing.
8:51
- And Eddie, that's what it looks like at the end.
8:54
- [George] Empty, gone.
9:01
- Put more apples. - [George] Mm-hmm.
9:12
- The apples and the pork are delicious together.
9:18
So y'all get out your sheet pans
9:20
'cause I'm coming up with some more stuff too.
9:23
(crunches) Mm. Listen to that, mm.
9:30
I love these little crisp edges of the Brussels.
9:33
- [George] Do the sheet pan recipe with shrimp.
9:35
- Okay, we can do it. - [George] Yeah.
9:37
- Easy peasy. - [George] Easy peasy?
9:42
- [Staff] Sheet recipe with what?
9:43
- Shrimp. - [George] Shrimp.
9:44
- [Staff] Oh, we have one of those coming up.
9:46
- Now, that's so easy,
9:47
but shrimp don't take a minute to cook,
9:50
so you'll have to be, I'm stealing one more apple
9:57
Happy sheet pan in it. (chuckles)
10:01
That would be hard for me to say fast.
10:03
- [George] Yeah. (Paula laughs)
10:07
Hey, y'all, it's Paula Deen.
