And girl always appreciates support.
0:25
So I got these fresh green beans
0:27
and you know, I just wanted to fix 'em a different way today
0:31
instead of southern style.
0:32
You know, cook real soft with palm gel or bacon
0:40
So I've got about two pounds of these fresh green beans.
0:47
You know what, I think I want to do this another way
0:51
that will make it a little easier for me.
0:54
So I think I'm gonna mix these in a bowl first.
0:58
I think I'll have better control over,
1:01
but halfway the cooking time, I am gonna
1:04
come in here and stir it.
1:05
Stir the pan. Alright.
1:07
So yeah, that'll be so much easier for me.
1:12
Alright, I got my purple onion.
1:18
I hope these are gonna be good.
1:25
I got a lot of good stuff going in with it.
1:29
Alright and baby portobellos, which I just love,
1:35
you know, they're almost like eating meat to me.
1:38
They make a wonderful sandwich, you know,
1:45
Okay, so I'm gonna toss this in a little vegetable oil.
1:55
See what I mean about it being easier to do
2:00
And I'm going to add some salt.
2:11
Not too much in case I can get the kids to eat this,
2:17
So I'm just going to toss those,
2:21
make sure they all got 'em a little drink of oil.
2:40
Here we go, Looks good, doesn't it?
2:51
And this is kind of quick and easy
2:54
'cause my green beans cooked southern style
2:59
is so wonderful, but they do take longer.
3:04
So I got my chopped up bacon
3:08
and I'm just going to spread that around
3:12
and that little bit of bacon's just gonna give it
3:14
some wonderful flavor.
3:19
Don't you think I'm missing you Mr. Hog?
3:38
Okay, they're ready to go in the oven
3:41
and we're gonna cook 'em for about 35 minutes
3:46
and stir 'em halfway,
3:49
halfway through the cooking time.
3:52
Look at our green beans would you?
3:55
Now I've got a few more ingredients.
4:00
that I'm gonna sprinkle over these.
4:05
And remember I did stir it like halfway through.
4:08
This is a little vinegar,
4:12
I can't see if it's coming out or not here,
4:15
'cause it's clear and I can't too much see it.
4:18
Alright, now here's the secret ingredient
4:22
that we're gonna add to our fresh green beans.
4:25
And that's crumbled up pork rinds.
4:30
Little more pork to go with that bacon that's in there.
4:35
And you wanna serve this immediately
4:38
because you don't want your pork rinds to get like soggy.
4:43
You want 'em to hear 'em pop.
4:46
I just heard the pork skins pop,
4:52
so I'm gonna hear 'em.
4:56
Did you hear 'em AD? - Mmmm.
5:03
- Nick come in here and taste these green beans.
5:09
Mm hmm. - They look good.
5:11
- That's pork rinds on top of them.
5:13
- Oh really? I never heard of that.
5:16
- Yeah, get you some the mushrooms and the bacon.
5:20
- Well you can put bacon on anything.
5:25
- Nick is over here today to help me cook some quail. So.
5:30
- And sample. - And sample.
5:32
Yes. How'd you like that? - Absolutely.
5:37
- [Nick] That could be a meal in it itself.
5:38
I know it, but if you were waiting for the steaks
5:40
to come off the grill or something,
5:42
you wouldn't wanna put the pork rinds on it
5:44
until you're ready to eat.
5:47
I couldn't believe they were popping like a-
5:49
- Unless say get soggy or what?
5:50
- Yeah, they can get soggy.
5:53
- And I think you'd want 'em where they're crunchy.
5:56
- I hear you. - That's good idea.
5:57
- I hear you chomping. - Yep.
6:00
- So I hope that y'all will stay tuned and join us
6:05
for the cooking of the quail with Nick Gruber,
