- So I don't know the story
0:04
behind what Eddie's got for us to do today.
0:08
No cooking in this video, we're craftin' again,
0:11
and I love it when we do crafts.
0:13
But, you know, I've been told I've had rocks in my head.
0:18
(Paula laughing)
0:19
That's not your story, though, with this, is it?
0:22
(Paula and Eddie laughing)
0:23
No? (laughing)
0:25
You got rocks in your head?
0:26
- I do.
0:27
- (laughing) I do too. - I do. (laughing)
0:28
- So does George.
0:29
So does Theresa, even.
0:32
So, tell everybody what you've got planned for us.
0:36
- Well, Theresa wanted a craft idea for Valentine's Day.
0:43
- For Valentine's, yeah.
0:44
- And so I started looking at like old Valentine's-
0:48
- Uh-huh. - You know,
0:49
that you would send out.
0:51
- Yeah, yeah.
0:52
- And, you know- - That looks like an old one.
0:53
- Well, I mean, I've sent you stuff like this before.
0:56
- Oh, yeah, yeah, I love these things.
0:58
- And this company, I'm sure a lot of you have seen around.
1:02
- And they never die, do they?
1:03
- They never die, and they look so realistic.
1:06
- I love 'em.
1:07
The favorite one, I think, of mine was the hydrangeas.
1:12
- The hydrangeas.
1:13
- The blue hydrangeas, yes.
1:14
- And my mom loves 'em.
1:16
And she said it is like having real flowers, you know?
1:19
- Yes. - People, from a distance,
1:21
think it is a real centerpiece, you know?
1:24
- Well, talkin' about real, when I came in the kitchen-
1:28
- You thought there was a cookie or somethin'?
1:30
- No, they were all white. (Eddie laughing)
1:31
And I said-
1:33
- [George] And I was thinkin' wedding cookies.
1:34
- What? (laughing)
1:37
Oh, here have a wedding cookie. (laughing)
1:40
And then I'll take you to the dentist.
1:43
So I walked in and saw 'em when they were just white,
1:47
and I said, "What are wrong with our chickens,
1:51
that they are layin' eggs shaped like that?"
1:55
'Cause it did, it looked like a plate of eggs.
1:58
- So there are-
1:59
- There wasn't any black ones in there though. (laughing)
2:00
- Lots people that like to do friendship rocks,
2:03
so I thought, you know... - Yes.
2:05
- And a lotta people will find rocks
2:08
when they're out walkin' around or traveling,
2:10
and then they'll pick it up
2:11
and say, "Oh, that would be a great rock to paint."
2:13
- I've had viewers give me rocks before.
2:16
- Give you one.
2:19
And I mean, I have a good friend in the Evans family,
2:24
Margaret Evans used to carry painted rock...
2:29
She was an artist,
2:30
and she always had a painted rock in her purse.
2:32
And if she met someone new, she would give them a...
2:35
And then she would do-
2:36
- Oh, how sweet.
2:37
- Beautiful artwork on her rocks.
2:39
I mean, real detailed. - I bet.
2:42
- We're not gonna do that.
2:43
- (laughing) Okay, good.
2:44
- We're gonna do simple Valentine's-
2:45
- 'Cause, you know,
2:46
I actually have art framed in my house that I did,
2:50
but I am no artist by any stretch.
2:54
When I seriously paint, it makes me so nervous.
2:59
(laughing) It makes me so nervous.
3:00
- Well, painting is supposed to be relaxing.
3:02
- I know, but it just...
3:05
But I do love watercoloring.
3:07
- Well, this is almost like watercolor paints.
3:09
- Okay, well,
3:12
I'm not good with stuff... - So pick up the brush.
3:13
- Okay, I'm pickin' out a brush.
3:14
- And pick out a rock that you...
3:17
I went on and pre-painted...
3:19
So, I mean, if you're doing this with children,
3:22
which would be a fun something to do-
3:24
- I want my grandchildren to do this.
3:27
- You can go on and pre-paint.
3:29
I mean, you can find rocks that are light colored.
3:33
The ones that I found were all dark colored,
3:35
so you can go on and paint them the color you want
3:39
to give it a base coat before they get started.
3:44
And it will take about 30 minutes if you use acrylic paint,
3:47
to let it dry. - Uh-huh.
3:49
Is that what you use?
3:50
- Yes.
3:51
So just get some inspiration from its shape
3:57
and start painting.
3:58
- I just can't see like I used to be able to see, Eddie.
4:06
Hmm.
4:10
I'm gonna be so sad when I see what Eddie's done
4:13
versus what I've done.
4:15
- [George] I got good news for you, Paula.
4:16
- What? - If you don't like it,
4:17
you can just paint it white and start over.
4:18
- Paint right over it. (laughing)
4:19
- Yes, that's what I'll do.
4:23
- George was just telling a story about flamingos,
4:25
so I'm making a Valentine
4:27
for him to take back to Colorado with him.
4:30
He misses flamingos in Colorado. (laughing)
4:34
(Eddie and Paula laughing)
4:38
- [Theresa] Who are you making yours for?
4:39
- I don't know.
4:40
(Theresa and Eddie laughing)
4:42
- [George] Also, Eddie,
4:43
I'm takin' that flower arrangement for my wife.
4:45
- [Eddie] Okay.
4:46
(Eddie and George laughing)
4:48
- 'Cause, you know, I'm one to forget Valentine's Day.
4:51
- So I'm gonna make this one for Davis, I think.
4:56
- [Theresa] How old is Davis now?
4:57
- He told me the other day on the phone,
4:59
he said, "Guinny, I'm four and a half now."
5:01
I said, "I can't hardly believe it, Davis.
5:04
I remember yesterday when you were just born."
5:07
This is Jamie and Brooke's youngest.
5:10
- [Theresa] This is your youngest, right, this is the-
5:11
- No, uh-uh.
5:12
No, no, no.
5:13
I've got Maddy Mae.
5:17
- [Theresa] And that's about it in the grandchildren world.
5:21
- 11 of 'em.
5:23
So I messed up the "D."
5:30
I miss my sight more than anything,
5:34
out of all my senses. (laughing)
5:39
Let me see yours, buttercup.
5:42
- [Eddie] My eyesight?
5:43
- No, your rocks. - Oh. (laughing)
5:46
- Oh, there it is!
5:50
Oh, Eddie. - That's not dry, so don't-
5:52
- I'm gonna mess it up.
5:53
- Put your fingers all over it.
5:55
(Eddie and Paula laughing)
5:56
I'm gonna make it...
5:58
Well, yours ain't perfect either.
6:00
(everyone laughing)
6:06
- [George] Take the glasses off, it'll look a lot better.
6:07
- Oh, that looks a lot better. (laughing)
6:11
- [Theresa] Eddie, it looks good.
6:13
- [Paula] Oh, I love it.
6:14
I love the flamingo's leg,
6:17
he's dancin'. - Yeah, he's got it.
6:18
- Uh-huh.
6:20
And I love the flowers.
6:21
Why didn't I put flowers?
6:23
- [George] We've never thought of that.
6:25
- No, never. (laughing)
6:28
- [Theresa] Eddie mighta looked on Instagram last night
6:29
and got some ideas.
6:30
- I got some ideas.
6:31
Well, no, the flamingo was-
6:34
- No, George. - The flamingo's all ready.
6:36
- [Paula] Yes.
6:37
- [George] You can't miss him, no matter where you're-
6:38
- George wants...
6:39
Uh-oh, now I've messed it up even more.
6:42
- Yeah, you can't wipe. (laughing)
6:44
- No crap. (laughing)
6:47
Eddie's much faster than I am, but I'm gonna make a rock
6:51
for the little tiny grandchildren in my life
6:55
who'd like a rock. (laughing)
6:58
So, my first rock is for Davis.
7:01
Does that look like Davis?
7:03
D-A-V-I-S.
7:06
I don't know, the "A" looks funny.
7:07
The "D" I messed up a long time ago.
7:10
But, (laughing) anyway, it was made with love.
7:15
- Okay. - Alright, so Mr. Artiste...
7:18
He graduated from SCAD,
7:19
which is an art school, one of the finest art schools
7:23
in the eastern part of our United States.
7:26
So what did you draw? (laughing)
7:29
- I made a ladybug. (laughing)
7:31
- You did, and he's precious.
7:32
- [Theresa] Do you just wanna show it to us a little bit,
7:34
Eddie?
7:34
It's kinda sideways.
7:35
- Oh look, I love his heart, and it's got legs on it.
7:39
- Aww. - Aw, look, how cute is he?
7:41
Does a ladybug not have a mouth?
7:43
- No.
7:44
- [Theresa] And show us your finished-
7:47
- Flamingo?
7:48
- [Paula] Oh, I love the flamingo.
7:49
- [Theresa] And this is going back with George-
7:52
- [Paula] To Colorado-
7:53
- [George] To Colorado.
7:54
- [Paula] In his yard.
7:55
- [George] A gift for a friend.
7:58
- [Theresa] And whatcha doin' on this last one there?
7:59
- [Paula] I can't wait. (laughing)
8:00
- Just thinking about it.
8:02
- [Theresa] Just things to do with hearts?
8:03
- A dancing heart. (laughing)
8:04
- [George] He'll send y'all one.
8:07
- Alright, I'm gonna copy Eddie's.
8:12
Let me see that.
8:13
Okay.
8:15
I like it.
8:16
I like it a lot, Eddie,
8:17
I like it so much I'm gonna copy it.
8:18
I've got to get my little grandchildren over here,
8:21
they would love doin' this, you know?
8:24
And then their mom and daddy
8:26
could keep that rock forever.
8:28
Date it, and keep it forever.
8:33
Alright, so I'm gonna start with a heart,
8:40
if I can figure out when my brush is touchin' the rock.
8:45
- So, did you make Valentine's when you were in school?
8:49
- Yes.
8:50
Yes, we gave a Valentine to everybody in our class.
8:58
- [Theresa] Did you make 'em though,
8:59
or did you buy cards?
9:01
- Oh, no, a bleedin' heart.
9:05
(Eddie laughing)
9:07
- [Theresa] You better give that to Michael.
9:09
- Mm-hmm, this is his.
9:12
- [Theresa] We should think of a name.
9:14
- Yeah, I can't do hugs.
9:17
I'll put kiss.
9:19
That's what I'll do on mine.
9:22
But first, I got to be able to do a heart without...
9:30
See, it's pitiful, but I can't tell when the brush is...
9:36
- [Theresa] It's actually harder
9:38
to film you guys as you're painting
9:40
because you're kinda over the rocks, so.
9:45
- Yeah.
9:46
Oh, gosh, that looks like a flamingo, doesn't it?
9:48
(Paula laughing)
9:50
But it's not, it's half a heart.
9:56
Alright. - Will you be my Valentine?
9:57
- Whoa! (laughing)
10:00
Yes, I'll be your Valentine!
10:03
(Eddie and Paula laughing)
10:05
Aw.
10:07
(laughing) Will you be my Valentine?
10:10
- [Eddie] I'm afraid now.
10:11
(everyone laughing)
10:14
- [Theresa] These really are adorable.
10:15
- [Paula] They are adorable.
10:17
- [Theresa] Great idea.
10:18
- Eddie is so good.
10:20
Y'all, it's pitiful,
10:23
but since I lost the cornea of this eye,
10:26
you can't judge distance.
10:29
So I'm tryin' to make my heart, and I'm in the air doin' it,
10:34
I'm not even touchin' the rock.
10:35
So it made it hard.
10:37
I'm glad I got paintin' outta my system
10:39
when I had two good eyes is all I got to say. (laughing)
10:44
But Eddie's are precious.
10:48
They are precious.
10:49
But you hadn't done the rocks yet
10:51
with the children's names on 'em.
10:54
- Are all the kids' names on 'em? (laughing)
10:56
- [Theresa] No, she just wanted to do the little ones.
10:58
- Just the little kids.
10:59
- [Theresa] So you got three more.
11:01
We got plenty over there for everybody.
11:03
- Did these come outta our yard?
11:05
- No.
11:07
We had to go buy flat rocks.
11:09
- You had to get some that was-
11:15
- Smooth and-
11:16
- Smooth and clean.
11:19
It had to be cleaned, didn't they?
11:21
- Yeah.
11:21
But anyways, it's a fun little thing to do-
11:24
- It is.
11:25
- Whether you're an adult or a child.
11:26
- Yeah.
11:28
- I was lookin' for some oyster shells,
11:30
you could do it with oyster shells too.
11:32
It would be fun. - Yes,
11:33
I love the painted oyster shells.
11:35
I've got a couple of those
11:36
that I think people have given me,
11:38
and I think they're so pretty.
11:40
But yeah, this is a fun little project.
11:43
And I would actually love to sit the grandkids down
11:47
and tell them to paint whatever they wanted
11:49
on their Valentine rock.
11:51
I think they'd have fun doin' that.
11:54
So, hope y'all had fun watchin'. (laughing)
12:00
Happy Valentine's!
12:03
Give George his flamingo.
12:05
(everyone laughing)
12:08
- [George] I can't wait.
12:09
- It's an inside joke, y'all. (laughing)
12:14
Hey, y'all, it's Paula Deen.
