- Hey y'all, I am kind of aggravated with myself,
0:05
because I don't recall ever sharing this recipe
0:09
with y'all in a video.
0:11
Maybe I have, but after so many years,
0:16
you get 'em mixed up in your head.
0:18
But this is a recipe that was in my first book.
0:21
I think it was my first book.
0:22
Maybe it was my second, I can't remember.
0:25
But it was one of those recipes that I had more feedback on.
0:31
So many women told me they just loved this recipe,
0:35
because it was simple, it was easy, school is starting back,
0:40
so I know that you mothers and daddies out there
0:43
are looking for things that are a nutritious, easy,
0:49
delicious dish that you can do in a hurry,
0:53
because I know with all your children's outside activities,
0:56
you feel like a taxi cab driver or an Uber driver.
1:01
So, I'm here to help with an easy recipe for y'all,
1:05
and we're gonna start with four...
1:11
The recipe costs for four large chicken breasts.
1:13
Well, (laughs) breasts come in all different sizes, y'all.
1:19
(laughs) Y'all's breasts may be bigger than mine.
1:24
So these are a small breast,
1:31
but I think sometimes the smaller the chicken,
1:36
and I'm actually using Springer Mountain chicken.
1:40
All right, so that's it so far.
1:44
Let me see. I'm having to refresh myself, oh.
1:56
Okay, and it does just call for a little salt and pepper.
2:00
So I'll go ahead and just go ahead and salt that now,
2:07
put a little pepper on it.
2:09
I could mix it with the wet ingredients,
2:11
but I think this'll work maybe better.
2:15
All right, so here goes the easy part.
2:18
We've got sliced Swiss cheese,
2:24
and it calls for six ounces,
2:25
but since my breasts are so tiny (laughs)
2:31
I don't think it's gonna take six ounces.
2:36
We'll save that for another dish.
2:41
Okay, so I've got a can of cream of chicken soup.
2:53
You know we're gonna get drop out.
3:14
And to make sure I've got as much
3:16
of that soup outta that can,
3:18
I'm gonna add a fourth of a cup of white wine
3:25
and just rinse that can out with that white wine.
3:38
You're getting the gist of how easy this is, I'm sure.
3:42
And if you are worried about cooking dishes with wine,
3:51
you can certainly leave that out.
4:00
All right, so we're just gonna pour our wet
4:09
on top of our chicken breast
4:16
and on top of our cheese.
4:20
Just gonna spread that around, and,
4:34
instructions in the recipe say to top it
4:37
with a cup of that Pepperidge Farm cornbread.
4:44
It calls for herb-flavored Pepperidge Farm Stuffing Mix,
4:49
so I know they make several, several choices in that.
4:54
So it said to top it with that
4:55
and then pour the butter on it.
4:56
But I'm gonna mix my butter
5:04
with my Pepperidge Farm,
5:05
because that way I wanna make sure that it all gets wet.
5:13
Because that's what makes that topping so good
5:18
is the butter that we put on it.
5:21
It'll make it get crispy and good.
5:27
Like I said, I can't believe how many conversations I got
5:36
from this one recipe with my friends out there.
5:44
Now the recipe calls for you to cook this
5:46
for 45 minutes to an hour,
5:48
but because our breasts are so small,
5:54
I think maybe 30 to 35 minutes will do it.
5:59
But, I'm so happy to know that I'm sharing this with y'all,
6:04
and I hope you're gonna love it, I think you will.
6:09
We got this ready in what, five minutes?
6:11
- [Camera Person] Yes, just about.
6:13
- Yeah, it was about five minutes.
6:17
It's been so long since I had it,
6:20
and I'm excited about eating it again.
6:24
I'm only gonna give it a little bit of a taste,
6:28
because I have a feeling this might be dinner.
6:33
So, I would serve this along with rice
6:40
and probably just some fresh broccoli.
6:54
See and I had a small breast.
6:58
I cooked this one for 30 minutes I think,
7:01
and I checked it with my meat thermometer,
7:04
and it registered 165-66, something like that.
7:10
So if you are using those real large breasts,
7:16
look how tender that is,
7:21
and that's what happens when you use a good chicken.
7:29
It does make a difference.
7:42
And I can see why I had many conversations
7:48
about the way people like this dish.
7:52
Easy, simple, and delicious.
7:54
On top of rice and fresh broccoli, toot-toot,
7:59
(laughs) toot-toot, (laughs) yum!
8:05
"Love & Best Dishes," y'all.
8:07
I'm sorry, I got into my tasting (laughs) a little bit.
8:11
Before we go, y'all, I wanna give y'all this tip.
8:14
If you don't like cream of chicken soup
8:16
change it to cream of mushroom soup.
8:18
It'll still be just as delicious.
