- I know that y'all have come to know my friend, Joseph.
0:07
We met at one of my book signings, and you never know.
0:14
At my book signings, you know,
0:16
I just see really special people
0:18
that share the love of food like me.
0:20
And before I know it, I'm asking him
0:21
to come into my kitchen with me.
0:23
And that's how it happened with Joseph.
0:26
And, you know, he was the winner,
0:28
2015, I think it was, of-
0:31
- "All Star Academy."
0:33
- "All Star Academy."
0:34
He won Best Home Cook of the Year.
0:38
- In America.
0:40
- In America for that year.
0:41
I don't know if it's an annual thing.
0:43
But anyway, when he told me that, my ears perked up high.
0:47
And the next thing I knew, he was here.
0:49
But he mentioned to Theresa and Eddie
0:53
that he wanted to interview me and pick my brain.
0:57
I said, "Well, it won't take you but a minute, Joseph.
0:59
It's very sparse up in there."
1:02
(Joseph laughs)
1:03
So he is ready to interview me, I guess.
1:08
- Sure. - Ask me some questions.
1:10
- Yeah, well, thank you so much
1:11
for giving me the opportunity to do this.
1:13
- You know I love you.
1:14
- Oh, I love you so much.
1:16
I still can't believe like this is a reality because-
1:19
- It's real, honey.
1:20
- It is, it just blows my mind.
1:23
I remember just being on my couch at probably when I was 12
1:27
or 13 years old at a friend's house
1:29
and turning on Food Network
1:30
and seeing you for the first time,
1:33
and someone that I could identify with that was reminded me
1:36
of my family, reminded me of my roots,
1:38
reminded me of the way my grandmother cooked, and then-
1:40
- 'Cause your roots are southern.
1:42
- Oh, 100%, yes, ma'am.
1:44
My grandmother and my grandfather both grew up in the south,
1:48
and my grandmother was one of the best cooks
1:50
I think I've ever had the pleasure of learning from.
1:52
- Would love to put my feet under her table.
1:54
- Oh my gosh, yes.
1:55
One day maybe in heaven, we'll do that.
1:58
- Yes, yes, yes.
1:59
- So, but anyway, all that to say, it's a joy
2:02
and an honor to not even think that God would allow me
2:05
to watch you growing up to now sitting here
2:08
and being able to interview you
2:09
and ask questions is just a true joy of my heart.
2:13
And so I'm very big on intentional questions.
2:16
So in the sense of, I love answers
2:20
that I think not only I would like to know,
2:22
but people I think in general would like to know.
2:26
And so my first question is,
2:28
what makes you get up in the morning?
2:30
What makes you get up every single day?
2:31
- What makes me get up in the morning?
2:34
Well, survival.
2:36
Survival.
2:38
When I was day in and day out in
2:41
the Lady & Sons in that restaurant, you know,
2:44
it was 14, 16, 18-hour days sometimes.
2:49
And it was all about survival.
2:52
You know, God had given me this opportunity to make it
2:56
and have my children with me.
3:01
And I just wanted to survive.
3:04
Because I didn't have any backup.
3:07
I had no cushion.
3:09
So it was all about my children.
3:14
I never wanted them to feel
3:16
some of the things that I had felt.
3:18
And I was just willing to do whatever it took
3:22
to make this one last chance successful.
3:26
- Yeah, that's beautiful.
3:27
And we were at the party on Saturday
3:30
for the Halloween party, which was so fun.
3:34
So, so fun.
3:35
You had invited me the last time I was here,
3:36
so that's why I ended up coming.
3:38
- I was so glad.
3:39
I was shocked when I saw you, but there was so many people.
3:42
- There was, yes.
3:43
- And I didn't get a chance to speak to you.
3:45
- No, it was so fun. - But it thrilled me-
3:46
- It was an honor.
3:47
It really was. - that I saw you.
3:49
- Well, it was an honor to be there,
3:50
but while I was there, some of the people
3:52
that I met were just speaking of the resilience
3:54
that you have and the determination
3:57
and just how beautiful it is to be able
4:00
to learn from someone who has, you know,
4:02
gone through everything that you've gone through.
4:04
But the beauty of coming out on top,
4:07
that instinct and that determination to survive
4:10
and to keep going no matter what, that speaks volumes,
4:13
you know, and it's beautiful
4:15
to hear other people talking about that too as well.
4:18
So my next question is, which is a great lead on to this.
4:22
What is the greatest lesson that you have learned
4:26
in life so far, and the lesson you're currently learning?
4:33
- That's a tough question.
4:35
Because I've learned a lot.
4:38
By nature, I'm very naive and very trusting.
4:44
I can't help it, it just...
4:47
Because the people that I've been exposed to,
4:54
they were like me.
4:55
I mean, you know, just what you see was what you got.
5:01
And it was very hard for me to learn
5:08
to not be quite so trusting.
5:13
You know, I think Ronald Reagan said, "Trust, but verify."
5:16
- That's true.
5:17
That's right.
5:18
- I didn't verify.
5:19
- Yeah.
5:20
- Quite often.
5:21
- Yeah.
5:22
- And naturally, you wanna surround yourself
5:25
with good people.
5:27
- Smart.
5:28
- Good people.
5:30
You wanna surround yourself with people
5:31
that are smarter than you.
5:34
You know, I mean, and I knew that.
5:37
I knew that I had to have smarter people than me around.
5:42
- Yeah.
5:44
- Because while I had the determination
5:46
and the will to survive and bring my family
5:53
some steadfast, you know, living.
6:00
- Yeah.
6:00
- I had to be.
6:02
- Yeah.
6:02
- I had to be.
6:03
And of course, the traumas that I've been through,
6:06
you know, I'm still standing, I'm still here.
6:12
Because I know who I am.
6:14
- It's so good.
6:15
- I know who I am and I'm not what I was accused of.
6:21
I'm just not, never have been, never have been.
6:25
But...
6:27
- And you're, and I will say, even though
6:30
this is not what we were going to talk about,
6:32
but I will say, just even the honor of getting to know you
6:35
and be with you and spend some personal time with you.
6:40
- You're so sweet.
6:40
- To verify that and to say who you are,
6:44
exactly who you are.
6:45
The way I've always seen you on TV is exactly-
6:49
- That's exactly who I am.
6:50
- Who you are.
6:51
And you are one of the most loving, beautiful,
6:56
intentional people that I've had the honor of meeting.
7:00
And I'm being that with all of my heart.
7:02
- You're so kind. - I do.
7:04
- And I wish everybody who had the honor
7:06
and the privilege to being able to be exposed to that.
7:09
But again, I think also as well with you,
7:12
to your point about surrounding yourself with people
7:14
that are good people, when you have that,
7:17
they'll champion you and encourage you
7:20
to continue to be authentically who you are,
7:24
regardless of what anyone else says.
7:25
No, not one bit.
7:27
- They will not attack you or let you down.
7:29
- That's right, absolutely.
7:30
I love what Maya Angelou says.
7:33
When people show you who they are, believe them.
7:36
- And isn't that the truth?
7:37
- It's true, and when someone shows you opposite-
7:39
- It's who they really are.
7:40
- You don't have to, you let them go.
7:43
Like let them be who they are.
7:45
- That's right.
7:46
- Don't surround yourself with them,
7:46
but the people that you know are genuine
7:49
and that are authentic and that love
7:51
with just a pure heart, that's the people
7:53
that you want to surround yourself with.
7:55
- Well, I'm trying to outgrow my naiveness.
8:01
- Me too. (laughs)
8:03
I'm the same way.
8:04
- I'm trying, I'm trying.
8:05
- Very trusting.
8:07
You wanna believe the best of everyone, yeah.
8:09
- I do.
8:10
- But that could be your downfall too.
8:11
- Everybody feels like I feel.
8:13
- Same.
8:14
- There's no hate in there.
8:15
- No.
8:16
- And oh my gosh, all you have to do is turn on the TV.
8:20
- That's right, yes.
8:20
- And you can feel the hate, it's so thick.
8:24
- Yeah, yeah. - It's so thick.
8:26
- Yeah, it's true.
8:27
- That's far into my world.
8:28
- Yeah, what would you say is the lesson
8:30
that you are currently learning right now in life?
8:33
- Same thing.
8:34
(both laugh)
8:35
- It's an ever evolving lesson.
8:36
- You know, I've finally decided, Joseph,
8:40
that I'm a slow learner.
8:41
- Mm.
8:42
- You know.
8:43
- Okay.
8:45
- It takes me a while.
8:46
- Yeah.
8:49
- To believe the people that have revealed themself to me.
8:53
It's still hard for me to accept.
8:57
But patience.
8:59
Patience.
9:02
What am I learning now?
9:04
What am I learning now, Eddie?
9:06
What am I learning now?
9:08
- At this point in your life?
9:09
- Patience, grace.
9:11
- So good.
9:13
- You know.
9:18
And just tend to my family, you know.
9:20
- It's beautiful.
9:23
- Being in a family business is tough
9:26
because you're gonna say things to each other
9:28
that you would never say-
9:29
- Of course not.
9:30
- to one of the employees.
9:31
And guilt feelings.
9:34
I've got some guilt feelings there
9:35
when my sons and I would go at it,
9:39
and I'll spend the rest of my life
9:41
trying to make up for the times
9:44
that we've spoken to each other like we have.
9:46
- Yeah, but you love each other.
9:48
- Oh my gosh.
9:49
- Sometimes that comes with the territory. (laughs)
9:54
- The were the reason I got up.
9:55
- That's awesome.
9:57
And it's true, nobody could inspire you
10:00
to get up like your own children and your family.
10:02
- Yes, I mean, I had no mother, no father, no safety net.
10:06
No nothing.
10:07
- Wow.
10:08
Wow, which is, again, to your point,
10:11
how beautiful your resilience is to maintain that stamina
10:15
to keep going because you want your family
10:18
to be the ultimate benefit.
10:19
It's not you, you're the one of the most selfless people
10:21
that I've ever met.
10:23
And so being able to see your why for why you do
10:26
what you do, and knowing that it's for the people
10:28
that matter the most to you is just beautiful.
10:31
Do you have a daily practice that keeps you kind of going
10:35
and staying motivated like that?
10:39
- A daily practice.
10:41
- Like would you say some people, you know,
10:43
for me it's of course my relationship with the Lord
10:46
and prayer and things like that,
10:48
but also spending time with people.
10:49
- I talk to God all during the day.
10:51
- That's awesome, that's awesome.
10:52
- I was talking to him a minute ago in the bathroom.
10:55
- Come on.
10:56
- Uh-huh, Lord, please give me the patience
10:59
and things that I think I want.
11:02
Please make me realize that it's God's time, not my time.
11:07
- Yeah.
11:08
- But give me the patience.
11:09
- That's right.
11:10
That's beautiful.
11:12
That's awesome.
11:13
Okay, we're gonna switch it up a little bit.
11:15
- Okay.
11:16
- Who's coming to dinner?
11:17
Pick three people, living or dead,
11:20
who you would like to invite to dinner?
11:23
- Oh Lord, I'd love to have my mother and my daddy.
11:26
- Mm-hmm.
11:27
That's beautiful.
11:28
- And my grandmother, Paul.
11:30
Oh my gosh.
11:31
I would love to be able to make chicken
11:34
and dumplings for my daddy.
11:35
That was his favorite meal.
11:38
- I love it, she just let me try
11:39
some of her cornbread dressing.
11:42
And it was just, I can't even tell you how good it was.
11:46
- It's delicious.
11:47
- Oh my gosh, delicious.
11:49
I didn't have the gravy with it
11:51
because I didn't know it was there, but next time.
11:54
- Well, I was gonna fix it for you but you got a head up.
11:57
- I did because I was hungry. (laughs)
12:00
So let me go ahead and eat a little something
12:02
before we start this day of filming, and so-
12:04
- Well, it was delicious.
12:05
And at the dinner party the other night,
12:08
there was 13 of us sitting at that table.
12:10
When we got through, I said,
12:11
"Okay, what was y'all's favorite?"
12:15
And I think the dressing was one.
12:19
- It was so good.
12:21
- But the grape salad, the turnip green-
12:23
- Oh yeah, I heard you mention that.
12:25
Oh, and turnip green.
12:27
- It was all so good.
12:29
And you know, I knew when I put out that food
12:33
that it had truly been cooked with love.
12:35
- Love, absolutely.
12:36
Isn't that the best feeling?
12:38
- Yes, those people that had taken their time.
12:40
- Yeah.
12:41
- Spent their money to help the Paula Deen,
12:44
The Bag Lady Foundation.
12:45
Yeah, I cooked it with a lot of love.
12:47
- I bet.
12:48
Oh, and I know they appreciated it.
12:49
- They did.
12:50
- Many of them mentioned it outside.
12:51
I was like, man, I should have came in a day before.
12:54
- You should have.
12:55
- Next time, next time. - You should have.
12:57
I'll help you.
12:58
I was gonna say I will help you.
13:00
I know how that is.
13:00
- If I had you in the kitchen.
13:02
- Oh, it would've been fun.
13:03
- But I had my sister by choice, Bubbles, Susan Green,
13:09
and my sister-in-law Sandy.
13:11
- Yes, she's so sweet.
13:12
- She was with my brother the last 10 years of his life.
13:15
- Wow.
13:16
- And so they were here
13:18
helping me. - Helping you.
13:19
- They were doing the grunt work,
13:21
like the topping and all that.
13:23
I couldn't have done it without them.
13:24
- Oh my gosh, isn't it so much work?
13:27
- It is, you know, prep.
13:28
It's the prep. - Yes.
13:30
That's the thing that takes the longest.
13:32
- If you got somebody to help you prep,
13:33
- Absolutely.
13:34
- You can knock it out-
13:35
- I agree, I absolutely agree.
13:39
What is one dish of your mom
13:42
or your grandmother that they taught you
13:44
that you still make today?
13:47
- Oh my gosh, it had to be the chicken and dumplings.
13:49
You know, my daddy died when he was 40 years old.
13:52
- Wow.
13:53
- And I loved him so very, very much.
13:58
Both my parents, I just adored them.
14:02
And so I was 19.
14:07
And I called my grandma Paul up,
14:09
and I said, "Grandmama, would you please come over here
14:13
and teach me how to make chicken and dumplings
14:17
just in case this is a dream and my daddy's coming back?"
14:20
- Wow.
14:22
Wow.
14:24
- So that was the first dish she taught me to make.
14:27
- My goodness.
14:29
And it's always stuck with you ever since then.
14:31
- Oh, yes.
14:32
- Wow. - Never leaves me.
14:33
And it's been 59 years.
14:36
- My goodness.
14:38
So every time I bet that you make chicken and dumplings,
14:41
it invokes that.
14:42
- Oh gosh, yes.
14:44
- Actually, it's a way of honor, I think.
14:45
It's not just an emotional response of, you know, sorrow.
14:49
And, you know, of course you miss the person,
14:51
but I feel like it's a way to honor that person.
14:53
- Absolutely.
14:54
- Because you knew he would enjoy it so much.
14:55
- Daddy, it's time to eat.
14:57
- Oh, wow.
14:58
- I'll never forget, I made sweet tea.
15:00
Mama made wonderful sweet tea.
15:03
And I made some sweet tea, and I took it to daddy
15:05
and I said, "Tell me daddy, is it good?"
15:09
And he said, "Well honey, it's not as good as your mama."
15:12
(Joseph laughs)
15:14
I remember that, I was 19 years old.
15:17
- Wow.
15:18
(Paula laughs)
15:20
- And married.
15:21
(Joseph laughs)
15:23
Don't do that.
15:23
- No, I was gonna say is that wisdom you care to share on?
15:27
- Give yourself a chance to know who you are before-
15:30
- It's true, I agree.
15:32
- Oh, I was so in love with my children's father.
15:35
- Yeah.
15:36
- Oh, I loved him too.
15:39
- Yeah.
15:40
- And I wouldn't have had those children, my children.
15:43
- What a blessing.
15:44
- So I'd probably do it all over.
15:46
- Yeah, yeah, yeah.
15:47
You'd do it because the lessons that you've learned.
15:50
And it's made you the person that you are now,
15:53
which again is causing everyone to benefit
15:55
from the beautiful lessons that you've learned
15:58
and the person that you've become,
15:59
we're able to glean from that, you know?
16:02
So a little bit about business, we'll go into that,
16:05
which is why I didn't necessarily want it filmed,
16:09
but just because it's very rare
16:12
that you get to talk with someone,
16:14
I hate using the term that's done it all,
16:17
because you haven't just done it all.
16:18
You've become very successful in what you've done.
16:21
You've become, I think you were one of the first people
16:23
that I would say in the age that we live in
16:27
that have made a lifestyle brand
16:30
and become a household name to where it brought
16:32
the amount of success that you currently have.
16:35
And, you know, being able to glean from that and think,
16:38
'cause I have, you know, an aspiration
16:41
to do things like that.
16:43
And I was thinking, I was praying about it.
16:45
I was like, God, I would love to just pick her brain,
16:48
or even other people's brain again, to just see like,
16:50
wow, what are the lessons that you've learned?
16:53
What are the things that you would say do, not do?
16:56
I know one of those was the surrounding yourself
16:58
with the right people.
16:59
Surrounding yourself with people that are smarter than you.
17:03
So my question is, what actually made you decide
17:05
to become that, like a household name or a lifestyle brand?
17:10
- Well, it was all by accident.
17:12
- Really?
17:13
- And necessity.
17:16
I knew that I wanted to make some changes
17:22
in my marriage.
17:24
I knew that I had done the best I could
17:27
trying to pull him away from alcohol.
17:30
But I didn't succeed.
17:32
But I fought until I was worn out,
17:35
and I barely graduated from high school.
17:42
- Wow.
17:42
- You know, I'm really totally uneducated,
17:45
you might say, and can't sing and I can't dance.
17:51
But I knew I had to figure out a way
17:55
to tend to my children.
17:58
And so I said, Paula, where's your talent?
18:02
What's your talent?
18:04
And I said, well, you ain't got one.
18:08
If you could call cooking a talent,
18:11
that would probably- - That would be it.
18:13
- That would be it.
18:14
- Yeah.
18:15
- So I had $200.
18:18
I was 42 years old.
18:20
- Wow.
18:21
- On June the 19th, 1989,
18:25
Jamie and I ran our first Bag Lady route.
18:28
- Wow.
18:30
And I would make these lunches,
18:34
and I pimped my children out into the streets
18:39
to sell this food.
18:40
- Yeah.
18:41
- And they would go into office buildings
18:43
and they were so sweet, so kind, and easy on the eye.
18:48
- Yeah, which is always a good thing.
18:50
- Yes, I said, "Those ladies are just going to love
18:53
seeing y'all come in every day
18:55
at the same time with a basket full of goodies."
18:59
And they would go out and sell,
19:04
come back, give me the money.
19:06
I would get in my car and go to the grocery store
19:09
and buy the things for the next day.
19:12
Because with $200, I bought a business license,
19:17
a big cooler, and $50 worth of groceries.
19:21
- Wow.
19:22
- So I had to go every day as soon as they got home
19:25
to buy for the next day's meal.
19:27
- My goodness.
19:28
- And you know, I said, it was really wonderful.
19:33
It was a wonderful experience for me, Joseph,
19:36
because if somebody had given me
19:39
quarter of a million dollars and say,
19:40
"You're a good cook, come on, let's open a restaurant."
19:43
I would've failed miserably.
19:45
But this way, having only $200.
19:48
- Yeah.
19:50
- You got to make sure that cantaloupe is right.
19:52
- That's right. - Not right.
19:53
- Right, right.
19:54
- You know, you have to be very careful.
19:57
But because I started out so little, every day,
20:02
I was able to grow along with my little business.
20:04
- Wow.
20:05
- I'd learn a little bit more every day.
20:08
And so it was really an honor for me
20:11
to start out so humbly.
20:13
- Mm.
20:15
That's powerful. - It made me very cautious.
20:18
- And think about too, as well, in the age that we live in,
20:22
everyone, of course, not only just wants to be successful,
20:24
but they wanna be the biggest, the best, the top,
20:27
have, you know, millions and millions of dollars but-
20:29
- And I never thought that-
20:31
- You learned the discipline that is required
20:35
to maintain success.
20:36
- I could not dream that big.
20:38
- Wow.
20:39
- I wanted for my sons and I
20:43
to be able to go to the grocery store on Wednesday
20:47
if payday wasn't until Friday.
20:51
- My goodness. - You know?
20:51
I just wanted them to be able to buy groceries
20:55
no matter what day it was, not have to wait on payday.
20:59
- Wow.
21:00
- You know?
21:01
So, no, I never dreamed,
21:03
and every day I got up, I said,
21:06
"Lord, what have you got in store for me today?"
21:09
- Yeah.
21:10
- I couldn't wait to go to bed
21:11
so I could get up the next morning
21:13
and see what God had planned for me.
21:17
Because once I made
21:24
myself responsible for me,
21:28
not counting on a man or inheritance or anything,
21:33
just me, the blessings overflowed.
21:38
- Wow.
21:39
- Overflowed.
21:41
And I had considered myself the weak one in my marriage.
21:45
- Really?
21:46
- I was, yeah, weak.
21:48
I was so weak.
21:49
And I couldn't survive without my husband.
21:51
- Yeah.
21:52
- But he was one of the things
21:58
that brought all this fear.
22:00
- Yeah.
22:00
- Because, you know,
22:05
I knew his choices weren't good
22:08
when he was drinking, you know, which was every day, but-
22:11
- Bless his heart.
22:12
- Yeah, once I took responsibility
22:14
for myself, it was just amazing.
22:17
But I never sought any of it.
22:20
- Wow, it just all started to come.
22:22
- It came to me.
22:23
- Because you had already really disciplined yourself
22:26
in that method of being careful and being intentional.
22:30
- And never sought one thing.
22:31
- Wow.
22:32
That is amazing. - Oprah calling me.
22:35
I never seeked out anything.
22:38
It just came.
22:40
And of course, I was there with open arms-
22:42
- Of course, sure, yeah.
22:44
- to take it.
22:44
- That's beautiful.
22:45
I think, you know, as we get ready to wrap this,
22:48
that your intentionality in just doing what was right
22:54
caused all these blessings to come.
22:56
And I think that's a very valuable lesson
22:58
that you just, you've been doing everything
23:02
to just do what's right.
23:04
Be intentional in pursuing what's right,
23:06
and it caused all these blessings to come on here.
23:07
- Oh, it did, and you know, I loved my staff.
23:11
I wanted to take care of my staff.
23:13
In fact, in 19, let's see,
23:16
we opened downtown
23:21
January the 8th.
23:25
Gosh, what year, 1996?
23:29
- Hmm.
23:30
- I think it was 1996.
23:32
Well, in 1997, you know,
23:36
I saw that we were gonna make it, and I went to my CPA
23:41
and I said, "I wanna start a profit sharing
23:44
for my employees."
23:45
Probably the only mom-and-pop restaurant
23:48
that had ever had profit sharing.
23:52
- Wow.
23:53
- But I wanted everybody under my umbrella to succeed.
23:59
- That's beautiful.
24:01
- And...
24:03
- Most people would not know that.
24:05
- Oh, no, no.
24:06
- You don't understand unless you-
24:07
- No, I don't go around talking about it.
24:08
- No, no.
24:09
- But I was so happy to do that.
24:11
And, you know, we recently decided
24:15
it was time to retire the Lady & Sons
24:17
after 36 glorious years.
24:20
- Yeah.
24:21
- It was just time.
24:22
- Yeah.
24:23
- And so I asked Carl, my CPA,
24:27
I said, "Okay, how did our business family
24:33
make out with the profit sharing?"
24:35
And he was telling me, one walked away with $18,000.
24:39
- That's awesome.
24:41
- Listen, I could cry.
24:43
- Yeah.
24:44
- That just made me so happy.
24:46
- Yeah.
24:47
- So happy.
24:48
I mean, lots of 'em, you know, really.
24:52
- That's awesome, kudos to you.
24:54
- Well, you know, you wanna share.
24:56
You wanna share. - You do, you do.
24:58
- Because without them-
24:59
- That's right.
25:01
You couldn't have succeeded.
25:03
- I was by my, you know, nowhere without them.
25:07
So that is really a highlight of closing the Lady & Sons
25:12
and knowing that people walked away
25:16
with some security.
25:18
I loved it.
25:19
- I love that, that's so beautiful.
25:21
Again, it just speaks to the beauty of who you are.
25:23
And I can't say thank you enough again
25:25
for taking the time to-
25:26
- Oh listen. - do this.
25:28
- You take your time,
25:29
and you know, we can't pay for guests.
25:35
- Oh, please.
25:36
- You know, this little humble thing.
25:37
So for you to come on your dime.
25:40
- Oh my goodness, I would do it in a heartbeat. (laughs)
25:44
I would, I would, because I love learning.
25:47
And every time I'm with you, I learn from you and your team.
25:49
It's just been beautiful.
25:50
- You are so sweet.
25:51
- Oh.
25:52
- And I knew that today that you came to my book signing.
25:55
You were somebody that I wanted to get to know better.
25:58
- Well, you were for sure someone
26:00
I wanted to get to know better.
26:01
So thank you again for allowing me
26:03
to have this time with you.
26:04
- I love you.
26:05
- Oh, I love you so much.
26:07
To a lifelong friendship for sure.
26:09
- That's right. - Yes ma'am.
26:10
Blessings to you guys.
26:12
- Love and best dishes and don't ever give up.
26:16
- That's right, don't.
26:18
(Paula laughs)
