- Hey, y'all, how's it going?
0:02
and today, I am here in my grandma's kitchen,
0:04
and I'm going to be making a very special recipe for y'all.
0:08
It's Jack's Favorite Fruit Smoothie,
0:10
and this is something I've been eating my whole life.
0:12
And I was recently on the channel with my grandma,
0:16
and we were doing videos and stuff,
0:17
and I had so many nice comments asking me about, you know,
0:21
just questions about my life and how I've been doing.
0:23
So I though there's no better way
0:24
to talk about how I've been doing
0:27
than to share my life through recipes.
0:28
And this is really something
0:30
that's been special to me recently
0:31
because I'm home for the summer.
0:34
And you know, my parents work so hard, but they're busy,
0:36
so a lot of the times I have to end up
0:38
helping out to make breakfast and snacks
0:40
for my little brothers, Davis and Matty.
0:43
So today I'm gonna be showing y'all
0:44
one of my favorite recipes that I do for them every morning.
0:47
So this was something that I loved as a kid,
0:49
and now I'm making it for my younger brothers.
0:52
Today, we are going to start out
0:54
by adding some of our fruits.
0:55
We got just a cup of frozen mixed berries here.
0:59
And if you want the exact measurements,
1:02
all that stuff is gonna be in the description
1:05
Oops, spilled one there.
1:07
But yeah, so this... (laughs)
1:10
Well, it's gonna wind up in there anyway.
1:11
Let's see what else we got.
1:12
We have some frozen pineapple.
1:16
Looks like frozen to the bottom a little bit.
1:18
We have some banana chunks.
1:20
Bananas are my favorite thing to add to a smoothie,
1:22
just 'cause of that creamy texture.
1:24
And speaking of, we have a similar
1:26
kind of creamy texture with the yogurt.
1:29
And the yogurt, I always like to use some protein yogurt.
1:33
I love getting as much protein as I can for my workouts
1:36
and for all the exercising I like to do.
1:38
So if you get some protein yogurt in there,
1:40
that really makes this a good option,
1:41
especially for my brother, Matty.
1:43
He's a football player
1:46
and he just entered freshman year.
1:48
We're gonna add some apple juice.
1:50
And so he just entered freshman year,
1:52
and, you know, he wants to be a football player in college,
1:55
so he needs a lot of protein,
1:56
so that's why I make this specifically for him.
1:59
And also, I really like to add ice in mine.
2:00
Even though that these fruits are already frozen,
2:03
when you add the ice, it really makes it nice.
2:06
I like kind of the little ice shard texture
2:08
that you can get in there. I really enjoy it.
2:09
So there we go, that should be everything.
2:13
Let's throw on the lid.
2:14
I like to always make sure I have it on tight
2:15
because there's been times...
2:16
I make smoothies for myself all the time,
2:18
and I've had many occasions
2:20
where I've just not put it on all the way
2:21
and it's just exploded.
2:23
So let's go ahead and blend it up.
2:27
And you can always have an extra spoon with you here.
2:29
So if it has a hard time blending,
2:32
you can open it back up.
2:33
I wanna get those ice chunks down there a little bit more.
2:36
Mix it up just to be able to, you know,
2:40
see if we can get a little bit better blending going on.
2:50
All right, that should be good.
2:52
Let's pour it and see how it turned out.
2:57
Yeah, smoothies are such a great breakfast,
2:59
especially making it for my brothers,
3:01
'cause it can be, you know, it's difficult sometimes
3:05
to have to make different breakfasts,
3:06
'cause Davis doesn't like eggs and Matty loves eggs.
3:08
So if I have to cook for Matty,
3:09
I'll usually make him an egg sandwich.
3:10
But Davis does not like it as much.
3:13
So a smoothie is something that they can both enjoy.
3:16
And everyone loves a smoothie.
3:18
And here, maybe I would've added
3:20
a little bit more apple juice,
3:21
just to make it a little bit creamier there.
3:26
I think I might need a straw for it.
3:27
- [Speaker 1] Absolutely.
3:28
- 'Cause this is a pretty thick smoothie,
3:29
which is how I like it.
3:30
But it might, I'm scared if I try to take a sip out of it,
3:34
it's gonna dump all over my face,
3:35
and I wouldn't wanna do that.
3:38
- Oh, yeah, I could use a spoon.
3:41
I think we're getting a straw right now, so.
3:43
- [Speaker 1] I will give you one
3:44
of your Guinny's smoothie straws.
3:45
- Oh, oh, the smoothie straw, that's perfect.
3:48
Oh, that's cool, like a little rubber straw.
3:56
Y'all, that is delicious.
3:59
This is such a great option
4:00
for anybody out there with younger kids.
4:02
And even if you're older, it's just delicious,
4:04
'cause who doesn't love a nice fruit smoothie?
4:05
Very refreshing for these hot summer days.
4:07
I hope that y'all are having a good summer,
4:09
and I will see you guys in the next video.
