- Hey everybody, it's Bobby here
0:02
and it's almost impossible that it is fall of 2022.
0:06
Where does the time go?
0:08
On the upside, this is my favorite time of year,
0:11
because you got, good baseball is here,
0:15
and almost good playoff baseball.
0:18
You got college football, you got all sorts of great sports.
0:21
The US Open, you got all sorts of great things
0:23
going on at once, and I love this time of year.
0:26
Not to mention that soon
0:27
maybe not in Savannah, but where you are possibly,
0:30
there'll be a little Christmas in the air,
0:33
and the leaves will begin to fall,
0:35
and now we start to think about
0:36
all things spice and pumpkin and lattes,
0:40
and just all sorts of great things.
0:43
So, Mom always likes to save the best for last.
0:48
I'm the last edition of your fall recipes here
0:52
and today we're gonna do something that's so simple,
0:55
I can almost do it blindfolded.
0:57
It's a very simple cider done on the stove top
1:01
and you know, ciders are, they make you feel really good,
1:06
Maybe if you have a cold or a sore throat,
1:08
or just if it's chilly outside, whatever the case may be,
1:11
a cider can just make you really want to,
1:14
you know, cuddle up on the sofa next to the fireplace,
1:17
or sit outside on the back deck
1:19
or with your family, or whatever.
1:21
But they also make your house smell great
1:24
just because of the ingredients.
1:26
So let's get started.
1:27
Very, very simple here.
1:30
We've got some apple cider,
1:33
and we're just gonna put this on the stove top
1:36
and turn it onto kind of maybe a medium, medium-low,
1:40
that's about where I like to live with everything,
1:43
is sort of a medium, medium-low.
1:48
Okay, so there is our cider and we've got
1:52
some pear juice, pear nectar,
1:56
and I'm gonna let this warm up just a little bit.
1:58
It'll only take a second.
2:02
And to that, I'm gonna add some brown sugar
2:08
exactly as you would expect.
2:10
And we'll stir, stir, stir in the brown sugar.
2:15
And to that, we will add a cinnamon stick.
2:19
These are so lovely and wonderful.
2:21
They look good, they're great decoration, they smell great.
2:24
And a little bit of cloves,
2:29
and black peppercorns,
2:31
and this is a great fall combination.
2:33
It's gonna make your kitchen
2:35
and your living room smell wonderful.
2:37
It's so simple, and when it's nice and warm
2:39
we'll come back and dip us up a cup.
2:41
Hey, everyone, our cider has been
2:43
sitting on the stove top for about 15 or 20 minutes.
2:47
Remember that it was pear nectar, apple cider,
2:50
a little brown sugar.
2:53
There are some cloves, some black peppercorn,
2:55
and a cinnamon stick in it, and it smells so nice.
2:58
This just smells like a big cup of fall.
3:01
And I've got myself a nice coffee cup,
3:04
and in it I decided to drop a cinnamon stick,
3:09
and I'm just gonna add my hot cider
3:13
Smells so nice. (sniffs)
3:15
And I would leave this, I will leave this
3:18
sitting right on the stove top.
3:22
And when folks come in the house
3:25
it's gonna smell so, so nice.
3:29
Let's see what kind of a flavor profile we've got here.
3:44
That'll cure what ails you right there.
3:46
The pear is really nice, and mixed with the cider,
3:50
it's sweet, but not too sweet.
3:53
You can taste the the peppercorns
3:55
just a little bit in there.
3:56
It gives it a nice flavor,
3:57
and the cinnamon stick really just finishes it off.
4:01
If you're ready for fall, make this right away.
4:03
It'll only take a few minutes and it's delicious.
4:10
I could use a little bourbon
4:18
For the adults. (laughing)
4:22
It's good. (gulps, swallows)
