- Down here, y'all, we love our nuts,
0:06
especially pecans and peanuts.
0:08
I mean, Georgia, especially southwest Georgia,
0:11
it's the capital of peanuts and also pecans.
0:16
There's more pecan trees in Albany, Georgia
0:19
than you can shake a stick at.
0:21
And they're so delicious.
0:25
But the pecans are so, so expensive. So, so expensive.
0:30
But I love to have a bowl of 'em out for, you know,
0:34
just something to nosh on
0:39
while people are having a drink, a cocktail or something.
0:44
But like I said, they are expensive,
0:46
so you, you don't wanna fool with messing these up
0:53
because they can burn very, very quickly.
0:56
Nuts can burn very quickly.
0:58
So this recipe is super simple.
1:02
It's a roasted cinnamon pecan,
1:05
and I'm gonna need two tablespoons
1:12
So I'm gonna spray my,
1:16
my teaspoon measure real good,
1:19
because it's just gonna make that syrup come out
1:22
a lot quicker and easier.
1:29
See, almost totally clean.
1:37
This works well for peanut butter,
1:43
anything that you're measuring that's sticky.
1:49
Like if I was using a measuring cup,
1:54
I'd just spray that measuring cup and it's your friend,
1:59
it really is your friend.
2:02
All right, so we've got our corn syrup in there.
2:05
Now, I'm adding some melted butter,
2:17
Some cinnamon, hmm, sells so good.
2:26
And a couple of tablespoons of sugar.
2:32
I'm just gonna stir that up real good.
2:38
I think my favorite nut
2:41
is just the totally savory pecan,
2:46
because this one is a little sweet.
2:50
And it's perfect if you're looking for a little sweet taste.
2:55
But I love 'em just roasted with salt, they're so good.
3:00
All right, so I've got one pound of pecan halves.
3:07
So I'm just gonna stir those,
3:08
and try to get every nut coated.
3:13
Okay, those look pretty coated, don't they, Eddie?
3:18
- [Eddie] I see a shine. - You see a shine?
3:20
Okay, well we going in.
3:25
There's not much left down in that bowl.
3:29
So we just wanna spread these out
3:31
into a single layer, y'all.
3:40
we're gonna put 'em in
3:45
Actually, I'm gonna put 'em in a 200 degree oven,
3:49
because like I said, they will burn so quickly.
3:52
And once they're burned,
3:53
you just have to put 'em in the trash.
3:55
There's nothing else you could do with 'em,
3:58
no getting rid of that scorched taste for sure.
4:03
All right, so we're gonna cook these for an hour,
4:05
we're gonna bake 'em for an hour.
4:07
And every 15 minutes, I'm gonna go in there
4:11
with a spatula and I'm going stir 'em up, toss 'em around.
4:17
I'm having house guests this weekend.
4:21
We are gonna be celebrating a couple of birthdays.
4:24
Phil Green's birthday is on St. Patrick's Day.
4:28
Sebran Curry's birthday is, maybe it's on the seventh.
4:33
Can't remember, we're all getting old.
4:37
But anyway, we gonna have a sleepover
4:39
this weekend and celebrate birthdays.
4:42
We're gonna have like a real tiny
4:44
mini version of a class reunion.
4:48
So these nuts are gonna be just perfect
4:53
to have out, so these will last easily.
4:58
If you protect and seal 'em up good,
5:00
they'll easily last for a couple of weeks.
5:04
And they're not too sweet, they're not too salty.
5:10
They're kind of just right with a cocktail.
5:16
