0:01
The next recipe I'm going to share with you.
0:06
If somebody tells you they don't like these,
0:09
I think they're fibbing. (Paula laughing)
0:12
Who doesn't like a little sausage dog?
0:19
Everybody I know likes them.
0:22
All right, so I'm just going to chop a little fresh parsley.
0:25
Now, we're doing caramelized onion pigs in a blanket.
0:34
So rather than stand up here and start from scratch
0:40
on these caramelized onions, I decided,
0:42
you know, 45 minutes of that can be boring.
0:46
But the way you want to caramelize your onions,
0:49
and it does, it takes about 45 minutes,
0:52
melt a little butter in your skillet,
0:55
and we dice these onions.
0:59
Because we're going to roll them up into our crescent rolls.
1:03
But so these are ready.
1:09
They're caramelized beautifully.
1:11
You can see what color they are.
1:13
- [Interviewer] Where are you taking these?
1:15
- I'm taking these to the ball game.
1:17
I'm sending these for my sons.
1:19
- [Interviewer] They're going to love them.
1:20
- And any of my children that are tailgating,
1:23
because it's all about the tailgating.
1:28
So to finish off these caramelized onions,
1:31
I'm going to add just a little tomato paste.
1:34
And, you know, you can buy tomato paste now in like a tube.
1:39
It looks like toothpaste.
1:42
So that's great because, you know, I found for me,
1:46
very rarely did I use a whole can of tomato paste,
1:50
so I really like what they've done there.
1:52
So I'm just going to stir that together,
1:58
and I'm going to get,
2:01
okay, turn off that heat.
2:06
Got to chop these up just a little bit.
2:12
So I throw my parsley in there, get that mixed up.
2:19
You see, I'm trying real hard to make this healthy.
2:22
(Paula laughing) (bell ringing)
2:24
Uh-oh, tell them I don't want any, Theresa.
2:28
Oh, it's my husband. (Paula laughing)
2:31
- [Theresa] Mike berry.
2:32
- Okay, so in this little bowl,
2:36
I'm going to mix up some yellow mustard.
2:42
And this is going to go on our crust.
2:50
and a little dill relish.
2:54
And don't use sweet unless you just insist.
3:01
But I recommend dill.
3:09
(glass bowl rattling)
3:16
I'm going to wipe off my counter,
3:20
and get my crescent rolls
3:25
rolled out right here with a little flour.
3:31
- [Interviewer] And get your crescent rolls open.
3:33
- Oh, okay, thank you.
3:37
You know, I hope these are easy to.
3:40
Sometimes they're so hard to unwrap, you know?
3:46
- Uh-huh, now that's the easy.
3:49
So let's see if this is easy.
3:54
So far it's looking really good.
3:57
Now the full recipe, how many does this make if we do it--
4:00
- [Interviewer] 32, but we're only making 16.
4:04
- [Interviewer] It's normally a two pack.
4:05
- Okay, so we're just going to unroll these.
4:22
And I'm going to just cut them
4:26
where they're perforated,
4:30
rather than trying to pull them apart.
4:34
Oh, look at them dogs.
4:40
Now these are fully cooked little smokies.
4:44
- What does it tell us for the.
4:54
- You need a baking sheet?
4:56
- Yeah, I'm going to start on the big end.
5:02
We're going to roll from the big end.
5:09
you can heat these up if you want to.
5:12
You could throw them in the air fryer, microwave,
5:15
do them on top of the stove with a skillet.
5:20
And come on up, Theresa.
5:22
- Where do you want me to put it right there?
5:26
- You need any more flour?
5:28
I think I'm good, but if you would leave it.
5:31
- I'll put it over here.
5:32
- So I don't have to go chase it.
5:35
- I'll put it, it's not in peoples view.
5:39
- All right, so I'm going to put a teaspoon
5:50
It may not have been quite a teaspoon.
5:54
And look at that fresh parsley.
5:59
And eating our veggies.
6:15
We doing an uptown tailgating recipe, aren't we?
6:24
We're going to start at the big end.
6:28
And we're going to roll
6:33
our little doggies up.
6:36
Nice and warm. (Paula laughing)
6:48
Now you can use any kind of sausage you want.
6:52
And remember, our sauce right here is just for dipping.
6:58
And if you feel like you've made too much sauce,
7:03
it's great on hamburgers and hot dogs.
7:05
So you're not going to need to throw it away.
7:26
Lou Lou is mesmerized,
7:27
but I don't know if it's a fly or what.
7:32
What are you mesmerized about, Lou Lou?
7:38
I don't know, but she's acting like Gus did
7:40
when he was a shadow chaser, Eddie.
8:07
Don't these look good?
8:12
- All right, we got a little bit more sausage left.
8:15
Do we have another pack of crescent rolls?
8:17
- [Theresa] We don't.
8:18
- Oh, okay, well, then I won't fix them.
8:22
All right, so you want to put that in the oven for me?
8:24
- [Theresa] I sure do.
8:25
- Thank you, thank you, thank you.
8:27
I think it's like 10 or 12 minutes.
8:29
- [Theresa] It's quick.
8:31
- Yeah, 12 to 15 minutes.
8:33
And like I said, if you want to make sure,
8:36
I like actually heating my sausage up.
8:39
Because I want to make sure it's good
8:41
and hot all the way through.
8:43
These are so easy to tote to tailgating.
8:47
And I know now they supply electricity
8:49
and all that for all the different kind of appliances.
8:53
So if you're taking your air fryer,
8:55
when you're ready for everybody to start eating,
8:57
you can throw these in the air fryer
8:59
just for like two minutes and serve them nice and hot.
9:12
You know what reminds me of Eddie?
9:16
When I go to Sam's, I love their hot dogs.
9:21
And I'll put the mustard and the relish on it.
9:25
That's what this reminds me of.
9:32
And I'm trying to remember what my grandson John told me.
9:37
Guinea, please don't double dip.
9:40
So I said, okay, I'll try not to.
9:44
So look, John, I'm not double dipping.
9:53
These are going to be a big hit.
9:58
