0:00
- How many people out there are excited about the big game?
0:06
I heard a lot of people are kind of sad.
0:10
I don't know anything about football, y'all.
0:13
What I know about football is I love my cheerleading outfit
0:18
that's hanging in that pic, that picture up there.
0:27
But somebody, one of the teams that's playing
0:31
has been to the Super Bowl like the last three times.
0:33
- [Eddie] They both have, it's, it's a-
0:35
- Oh, they both have?
0:36
- [Eddie] Yeah, it's a-
0:37
- So we're seeing the same best teams.
0:41
I guess there was no surprises.
0:43
But anyway, that doesn't matter.
0:45
What matters is you're with your friends and your family
0:49
and you're all pumped up
0:51
to watch some Monday night football,
0:55
only it's on Sunday, isn't it?
0:59
I love Hank Williams Jr.
1:02
The theme song for Monday Night Football.
1:05
But anyway, probably most of the people in the room
1:12
will be drinking an adult beverage maybe
1:15
but then there'll be people like me that are kind of CC
1:20
and want something that's sweet.
1:24
So I'm fixing to share with y'all
1:27
a wonderful butterscotch dip.
1:31
And I started looking around
1:34
and realized I forgot to put apples on my grocery list.
1:39
In fact, I sent Michael to the store the other night
1:41
and I said, get me some apples.
1:44
Well, he couldn't find the peanuts I wanted
1:46
so he didn't think I needed the apples.
1:49
So anyway, I've got an assorted bowl of fruits
1:54
but apple is really so good in this and easy
1:57
and I'm actually doing,
2:00
since the ball game is not really going on right now,
2:03
I'm only going to do half the recipe
2:06
because it makes a good bit
2:08
and Theresa and Eddie and I
2:10
don't need to be standing up there with a spoon
2:16
So you might wanna think about just one recipe
2:19
if you're not too sure
2:21
of how many people are gonna be into sweets.
2:26
But sweetened condensed milk, oh my gosh,
2:33
Tablespoon of butter.
2:37
Can't beat that either.
2:40
A teaspoon of cinnamon.
2:45
Oh, I missed the vinegar 'cause it was clear.
2:49
Looks like about a tablespoon of vinegar.
2:53
And I've got my vanilla
2:56
and I'm gonna wait until the very end to add my vanilla in
3:01
but I'm just gonna stir all the ingredients in
3:06
which is very, very few ingredients.
3:11
Now, how many butterscotch chips do I need to use, Theresa,
3:16
since I'm- - [Theresa] The whole bag.
3:17
- [Paula] The whole bag?
3:18
So the original recipe calls for two bags.
3:20
Two eight ounce bags or 12 ounce?
3:22
- [Theresa] 12 ounce bags. - Okay.
3:25
So this is really so good.
3:29
- [Theresa] And you could put it in
3:31
like one of those little miniature Crock-Pots.
3:34
- [Theresa] And take it with you and keep it warm.
3:36
- That's right if you're going to somebody else's house.
3:39
Slice you up some apples,
3:41
put some Fruit-Fresh on them apples so they won't turn dark
3:46
or lemon juice or something.
3:49
So that's just gonna take a few minutes for that to melt
3:51
and we gonna be having a great sweet bite in no time.
3:59
Okay, we got all of our ingredients melted.
4:02
Now, I'm just gonna add our vanilla extract.
4:08
And I always like adding my vanilla last
4:12
because I don't want that flavor
4:14
to accidentally get cooked out.
4:18
So as long as I fold that in last, I know I'm good to go.
4:36
Wonderful over ice cream as well with some chopped nuts.
4:44
So I think I'm gonna serve this in my cast iron today
4:50
because cast iron is rough and tough
4:53
like those football players, right?
4:58
So that's why I chose cast iron.
5:11
If you're going to, oh, look at my footballs,
5:19
So it's all about the big game today.
5:23
And where are my apples?
5:29
We need some toothpicks for this too, don't we, Eddie?
5:33
- And I'm gonna try not to double dip.
5:37
It's still nice and hot.
5:38
So if you're going to somebody's house
5:40
and you've offered to bring a dish,
5:42
all you have to do is put it on the stove
5:45
whenever you get where you're going and heat it back up.
5:50
And they've got those little, tiny
5:52
like a miniature Crock-Pot out I think for like dips.
6:00
It's delicious, y'all.
6:09
So keep this, keep this recipe in your inventory
6:14
'cause it's good and it's quick.
6:17
So Love and Best Dishes and I hope your team wins.
