0:00
- I don't know who doesn't love pizza. Do y'all?
0:04
Well, I'm fixing to make a breakfast pizza,
0:08
using butternut squash and eggs.
0:12
And some people will get up from the bed,
0:16
go straight to the refrigerator, and eat cold pizza.
0:19
Now I do like mine heated up.
0:23
And the air fryer will bring back a piece of pizza
0:26
just like it came outta the oven at the restaurant,
0:30
or wherever you got it from.
0:31
So I am cooking one pound of breakfast sausage,
0:38
'cause remember this is a breakfast pizza.
0:42
So I'm gonna use a couple of,
0:43
I've got 1 1/2 cups of butternut squash.
0:47
And I'm gonna strip my thyme leaves.
0:54
And thyme is so, so good on this butternut squash.
1:00
Jamie makes a butternut, seems like a salad,
1:04
that is out of this world delicious.
1:06
Do you remember, Eddie? - Yeah, I remember.
1:09
- Oh my gosh, it's so good.
1:17
There, I got 'em stripped pretty good.
1:21
You really don't have to strip these if you don't want to.
1:24
You can just lay the whole stem on your squash.
1:32
Now I'm going use like a tablespoon and a half,
1:38
and my tablespoon is not here,
1:40
so three teaspoons equal one tablespoon.
1:49
Okay, one more, and that should be about right.
1:55
A little bit of salt.
1:59
And I'm gonna give this a quick mix.
2:05
And I'm gonna put this in the oven and let it bake
2:09
about 20 minutes at 350.
2:13
All right y'all, we are back to finishing up our pizza.
2:19
I've got our butternut squash,
2:23
so delicious, y'all, so delicious.
2:27
And move this aside so you can kind of see what I'm doing.
2:30
I'm gonna flour fairly lightly.
2:37
A rolling pin in case I need it, and flour.
2:44
And I'm using a pizza crust
2:46
that you can find in your bakery.
2:52
And this stuff is really (packaging crinkles loudly)
2:58
You know, I thought, darn, this is elastic. (chuckles)
3:06
I think this is gonna be the easiest way
3:07
to get that crust outta there.
3:28
That's some great feeling dough.
3:41
Oh, that crust just pooted. (laughs)
3:45
Did, you hear it, Eddie? - Yes.
3:51
(hands banging dough)
4:05
I don't know if I should share this story with y'all.
4:12
Get outta there. (laughs)
4:19
My Aunt Peggy's 95 years old.
4:22
She's getting on up there.
4:33
you get what's referred to as the walking poots.
4:38
You just walking along, all of a sudden you're pooting.
4:43
And Aunt Peggy did that the other day and I got so tickled.
4:50
I said, "Aunt Peggy, there's some butthole behind you,
4:58
talking behind your back at you." (laughs)
5:03
Now you know that's funny, Theresa, laugh.
5:07
You know it's funny, Eddie. Aw. (laughs)
5:11
And she just looked at me and said, "Oh yeah?"
5:14
and looked around to see who it was.
5:22
You know, pray that we all get to that stage of life,
5:32
All right, I'm measuring this out
5:48
So we're just gonna transfer this.
5:52
So if you like a thicker crust,
5:56
this is work gonna out great for y'all.
5:58
If you like a thinner crust,
6:03
it's gonna be a little thick for you.
6:06
Now I sprayed my pan lightly
6:17
This really is good dough, y'all.
6:20
Do they make a frozen pizza dough?
6:23
- I don't think so. - Does anybody know?
6:24
- [Theresa] No, I just see that.
6:25
That's just in the deli area. - Yeah.
6:27
It's just in the case with all the,
6:31
like the slices of cake and things like that.
6:35
Okay, now I'm gonna brush this
6:40
with a little bit more olive oil
6:48
because that's gonna help make it.
6:52
All right, where'd my brush go?
6:54
- It's over there. (utensils clanking)
6:56
- Over in the receptacle.
7:03
I know I've got another one.
7:04
I've got a red one too.
7:08
Somewhere, there it is. I knew it.
7:13
All right, so just gonna brush that.
7:25
Gonna cover that dough with the olive oil
7:30
and it'll make it crustier
7:35
and just more gooder, more gooder.
7:41
Now remember, y'all, this is actually a breakfast pizza.
7:53
First thing I'm gonna do is cover the crust.
7:57
Isn't that crust beautiful, y'all?
7:59
That one wasn't as hard to roll out
8:01
as some I've worked with before.
8:04
All right, so calls for about a cup and a half of cheese,
8:10
and you're supposed to leave like a half-inch border.
8:19
I kinda like mine to the edge
8:20
'cause I think it all tastes so good.
8:25
You know what I mean?
8:28
All right. (pan scrapes)
8:31
And the recipe calls for like a half
8:35
of a roll of breakfast sausage.
8:39
So I've got a little much, but that's all right.
8:44
If you want it heavy meat,
8:46
use that whole roll and enjoy.
9:12
Okay, now we're gonna
9:18
sporadically place our onion.
9:29
I'm gonna go ahead and put our butternut squash on.
9:34
Oh my gosh, this is so good.
9:38
And if your kids say, "I don't eat carrots,"
9:41
tell 'em, "This is not carrots, it's like candy.
9:47
It's so delicious and sweet."
9:51
And you say candy and they might change their mind,
9:57
you know, about squash.
10:13
And like I said, Jamie does a butternut squash salad
10:21
Gonna kind of press that in.
10:25
And I'm coming back with some more onions.
10:35
Now remember, at this point you can put anything you want to
10:40
on your pizza, whatever you like.
10:44
Now I'm gonna put this in a 425-degree oven,
10:48
and I'm gonna bake it for about 10 or 15 minutes.
10:53
All right, out with our pizza,
10:57
but it's not done yet,
10:59
because remember, this is a breakfast pizza.
11:04
Look at that puffy crust.
11:10
Now you want to choose something
11:14
to make an indention in your pizza.
11:22
And depending on how many you're wanting to feed,
11:31
How's that for breakfast pizza, y'all?
11:36
Pretty good, isn't it?
11:38
So we're going to put this back in the oven
11:46
and cook it until our eggs
11:49
are done the way we like them.
11:52
Okay, our eggs are getting done.
11:56
Michael likes his eggs exceptionally runny,
12:01
where I really don't.
12:04
I like like a medium egg,
12:08
you know, where the whites are done
12:16
and the yellow's runny.
12:18
So just cook it to yours or your family's liking, okay.
12:26
Come on outta there, cheese.
12:29
So I'm gonna run it back just a couple minutes
12:32
to melt our cheese and breakfast is gonna be ready.
12:38
Breakfast is ready. Yum. - Yum.
12:44
- Look at that, would you? Yum.
12:48
And let me tell you something.
12:49
If you don't eat at all,
12:51
this heats up so good in the air fryer.
12:55
It'll make your crust so crispy.
12:58
Wow. Who wants a piece?
13:02
Y'all, don't all speak up at one time
13:04
and fight over my damn pizza. (laughs)
13:10
They have been doing too much snacking
13:12
here in the kitchen, y'all.
13:17
Oh, yum. Oh, I love that squash.
13:24
- Don't burn your mouth. - Okay.
13:31
You cannot beat the crust at Publix grocery store.
13:39
Bon appetit. Happy breakfast.
13:42
Love and best dishes.
13:43
The sweetness of that squash is incredible on this pizza.
13:49
Mm, it's like getting a bite of candy.
13:55
Hey, y'all, it's Paula Deen.
