0:02
I'm coming to you from mama's kitchen,
0:03
and today we're going to do something very delicious
0:06
and a little bit different for me.
0:08
You might not know, I don't really like bourbon.
0:10
It's one of those things.
0:11
A lot of men from the south like a lot of bourbon.
0:13
Hasn't ever really been my flavor,
0:15
but I really enjoy it if it's cooked in
0:17
and if it's in a sauce.
0:18
So we're going to start our bourbon barbecue burgers today
0:22
with, this is what we're going to garnish it with.
0:25
We'll do about three tablespoons
0:30
of barbecue and about six.
0:34
Y'all didn't know I could eyeball all this so good, did you?
0:36
About six tablespoons of mayonnaise.
0:40
And then we've got a half...
0:42
I don't know what that is, a half a teaspoon, I think.
0:46
Then we've got our salt
0:48
and a little bit of pepper going in here.
0:50
We're going to whisk this up.
0:52
I got my pan heating.
0:54
These, since it's a barbecue burger,
0:57
we're making them with ground pork today.
1:02
So the first thing you're going to do is whip up this sauce
1:05
and then in the whole cooking process of this,
1:08
I'm going to put this in the refrigerator and let it chill.
1:11
Let's get started on our burgers.
1:14
We've got a pound of ground pork.
1:17
We have our breadcrumbs.
1:19
We're going to put an egg in here.
1:25
We've got the rest of our bourbon,
1:26
which is about half a cup.
1:29
We're going to salt and pepper this.
1:32
And finally, we're going in with really one
1:34
of my favorite flavors in a burger,
1:40
As my friend in Alabama used to say, two tablespoons there.
1:45
And now let's give this a turn.
1:47
I'm not going to overwork this too much.
1:49
You really don't want to overwork your burgers.
1:52
They'll get mushy and you kind of want them
1:54
to just barely be held together before we cook them.
1:59
I was just talking to Theresa and Eddie.
2:02
Next time y'all see me over here,
2:03
I'm going to be wearing gloves.
2:04
I'm going to bring some from my house.
2:07
I love working with gloves at the house
2:09
when I'm dealing with raw proteins.
2:10
It sure does make the process a lot easier.
2:16
Y'all take a look at this.
2:17
I want it to be known,
2:19
the butter is empty at mama's house.
2:25
Eddie just washed it.
2:26
We're out of butter at mama's house?
2:31
All right, I got my pan hot.
2:33
I'm going to do four of these burgers.
2:37
Let me take off my ring.
2:40
Let's see how close we can get.
2:58
Now, I'm not a bragger,
3:00
but I'm pretty good at eyeballing stuff like this.
3:03
If y'all want to come over here
3:04
and put these on the scale,
3:06
I'd be willing to bet you these are all within
3:09
an ounce or two of each other.
3:12
Let's hear it out for everybody's useless
3:14
talent that they might have.
3:16
That's my best useless talent.
3:17
I'm pretty good at dividing stuff up.
3:20
I'm going to cook this about five minutes.
3:21
I'm going to flip it over.
3:22
We want these to be cooked,
3:23
of course, all the way through, about 165.
3:26
Y'all, let's take a break.
3:27
Let me wash my hands.
3:27
We come back, we'll put it in our mouth.
3:31
Man, those turned out beautiful.
3:36
I forgot to put the cheese on them, y'all,
3:37
so I just stuck it in the oven for a minute
3:39
and also put my hamburger buns in there.
3:42
Y'all know I love to grill a bun
3:43
for a hot dog or a hamburger, but I didn't do it today.
3:47
I just stuck them in the oven to kind of knock a little bit
3:50
of that store off of them.
3:53
Now, see, I'm going to pick this up
3:55
because it's the easiest tool I have.
3:58
Isn't that a pretty little burger?
4:00
I'm going to take our sauce that we made.
4:02
This is our bourbon barbecue burger.
4:05
It's got a little bit of bourbon in it.
4:07
Little bit of ketchup, mayonnaise,
4:10
Dijon mustard, salt and pepper.
4:14
That's a right good looking little burger right there.
4:19
Y'all want to take it for a test try?
4:21
All right, here we go.
4:24
Look at it sliding off of there.
4:25
This is my favorite part.
4:40
Do I have anything on my face?
4:43
I figured that I did.
4:45
Y'all know I'll finish the show
4:46
with stuff all over my face and my mouth full
4:48
because I'm excited about it and it's good.
4:53
Thank y'all for tuning in today.
4:54
Simple, really delicious.
4:57
Try this at the house.
4:58
Until next time, see you around the kitchen.
