0:01
It's the day after Labor Day and Michael and Eddie
0:06
and I just got back from the most fabulous weekend
0:10
at Lake Oconee where my sissy lives.
0:13
Y'all have met Bubbles many a time
0:16
on my different shows and videos.
0:19
So we went to Bubbles' and Phil's house at Lake Oconee
0:24
and I just called in everybody to come meet us there.
0:29
Sandy, my brother Bubba's other half,
0:33
Kari and Brian and Sullivan, Jamie and Brooke
0:37
and their three boys and Bobby and Cloud and their triplets
0:44
and Anthony and Ashley and their two sweet babies.
0:48
So we were all there.
0:50
We had the most fun day boating.
0:54
It was just wonderful.
0:56
We didn't have a time clock.
0:58
We just sat around and told stories (laughs)
1:03
of things that happened in the past.
1:06
But it was a wonderful time.
1:08
And you know, Susan always has different things to eat
1:15
and she gets around, she goes to a lot of parties.
1:19
She has so many friends and just so many functions.
1:24
So it's always interesting to see what she's got
1:28
that I've never tried.
1:30
So this is one of those recipes.
1:34
It's from my Sissy Bubbles
1:36
and it's these blueberry cinnamon rolls.
1:41
And so dirt simple and easy.
1:45
And that's the thing about Susan.
1:48
You know, she can appreciate something that's fast and easy.
1:51
So this is a recipe that she had located somewhere.
1:54
I don't know, I'd love to give credit to whoever it was.
1:58
But Bubbles is as far back as I go with it.
2:04
So we're gonna start with two.
2:06
Where'd I put my knife?
2:08
I just had my red knife.
2:13
You start with two cans of cinnamon rolls,
2:15
and Bubbles didn't say what size.
2:20
So I told Theresa, I said, "Why don't we just do both sizes
2:25
and see which we like the best?"
2:27
So after saying that,
2:31
I might would prefer two cans of the largest ones.
2:39
because it's the first time I've ever made this,
2:42
but it's not the first time I have ever eaten it.
2:47
Got my four eggs and half a cup of milk
2:55
and a teeblespoon. (laughs)
2:59
You know, my mouth is really wanting to say a tablespoon
3:01
of vanilla flavor, and that's why I couldn't say it.
3:06
So a teaspoon or how much ever you want. (laughs)
3:16
We're just gonna pour that over our chopped cinnamon rolls.
3:26
And now we're gonna just cover the top
3:30
with frozen blueberries.
3:34
Susan said that she used frozen
3:35
and she found that works better,
3:38
so I'm gonna heed her advice.
3:46
All right, that's looking good, isn't it?
3:48
And we're gonna bake it
3:49
at 375 for about 35 minutes, something like that.
3:54
You know, just depending on your oven.
3:57
And you can put as many blueberries...
4:00
Oh, I just slung it in my face.
4:02
You can put as many blueberries as you want.
4:11
And you know what I would like?
4:14
You know, it's so very hard for me to take a recipe
4:21
so I'm gonna come down here
4:24
'cause I've got some chopped nuts down here
4:29
and I want some chopped nuts in mine.
4:33
You know, a cinnamon roll's got to have a nut,
4:36
and I could go a step further
4:39
and add some raisins to it. (laughs)
4:41
- [Theresa] Stop while you're ahead.
4:44
- So that's the fun about a recipe, y'all.
4:47
Blueberry cinnamon rolls.
4:50
The only thing I did different was I added some nuts,
4:53
and now we take, you know, the good stuff that tastes
4:56
so daggum good on top of cinnamon rolls.
5:00
We just gonna take that
5:01
while this is straight out of the oven and hot
5:04
and we're gonna spread that out over our cinnamon rolls.
5:12
And I'll probably wind up making a little bit more
5:18
of the dressing, the icing,
5:23
because it's never enough for me.
5:25
I just like a lot of icing, don't y'all?
5:29
So I'm gonna pull off this little bite right here,
5:38
and that little bit of last bite of icing
5:42
scraped up enough for me to put that little bit
5:52
This is so good, y'all.
5:58
Theresa, do you like all this stuff?
6:01
- Well, come get you some, girl, while it's hot. (laughs)
6:08
This would be great to take to tailgate, you know it.
6:12
That's what I like about my Bubbles,
6:15
the recipes she shares with me that she has out there
6:18
in her bigger world because they're tasty and they're easy.
6:26
And I think we all like that.
6:29
So love and best dishes to y'all,
6:34
and make it the way you like it.
6:37
Y'all, that wasn't nearly enough icing,
6:40
so I'm gonna take like a half a cup of powdered sugar
6:47
and I probably should have sifted it,
6:49
but I'm gonna try to do that using my little whisk
6:53
because I wanna get this done
6:54
and get it on that while it's still hot.
7:01
And I'm gonna take maybe 1/3 a stick of butter,
7:09
and you actually could melt that if you wanted to,
7:12
but I'm just gonna work it in like it was flour,
7:15
like it was biscuits, I mean.
7:19
You know, cutting it in.
7:28
And just a little bit of water.
7:30
All right, I think I'm gonna leave it
7:32
a little thicker, so it'll maybe stay on top,
7:38
and hopefully it's still hot enough.
7:40
Oh yeah, (laughs) look at that.
7:59
And again, love and best dishes to all y'all out there.
8:04
And you know, the next time somebody asks you
8:08
to bring a little something sweet to the party,
8:17
- Hey, y'all, it's Paula Deen.
