- Hey, everybody, it's Bobby here today.
0:03
I'm doing a really fun recipe, kind of, for the kids.
0:06
I don't know, the adults might like it too.
0:08
Little, simple apple dumplings.
0:10
And we're gonna start off
0:11
with these crescent rolls from the frozen section
0:14
at your local grocery store.
0:15
And I've got an apple that I've cored and sliced.
0:19
And we're very simply just wrapping up a couple of slices
0:24
of apple in each dumpling.
0:27
It's already pre-cut for you, so it's, like,
0:29
doesn't get much easier than that.
0:31
And I'm gonna try to, without crowding the pan too much,
0:37
do a couple of lines of these.
0:39
I think, I said for the kids,
0:42
I think pretty naturally kids are gonna really like this.
0:47
And I'll show you why in a few minutes
0:49
'cause there's gonna be a little soda involved.
0:53
So I think it doesn't get any simpler than that.
0:55
It's just a couple of apples wrapped in that dumpling
0:58
and into the dish we go.
1:00
And over here on the stove top,
1:02
I've got some butter melting.
1:07
And then to that we're gonna add our sugar.
1:19
And this is gonna come together.
1:21
And when it does and I get it all mixed together real well,
1:23
we will spoon it right over our apple dumplings.
1:29
but you can't say it's not gonna taste good.
1:32
And to the butter sugar,
1:33
I'm just gonna add a little cinnamon.
1:43
Well, I bet that tastes good (laughs) just by itself.
1:50
Ah, we'll never know.
1:54
Okay, so that's well combined.
1:59
And we're just gonna pour it right over our apple dumplings.
2:14
The final secret ingredient, we've got a little soda.
2:18
I'll let you guess what kind of soda that is
2:21
just by looking at the color of it.
2:25
You thought that this was good enough, you were wrong.
2:37
So, now into the oven at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes
2:41
and we'll have our apple dumplings.
2:45
These apple dumplings smell so good.
2:49
They're piping hot, but I think I still need to try one.
3:09
- [Bobby] It looks nice, doesn't it?
3:16
Taking one for the team.
3:17
I'm doing this one for you
3:19
'cause I know I'm gonna get burnt.
3:22
I know I'm gonna get burnt,
3:25
but I gotta have a piece of that apple too.
3:31
Super flaky and delicious.
3:35
I mean, it just looks really, really good.
3:37
It's so piping hot, I'm terrified.
3:41
- [Speaker] You need some ice cream to cool it down.
3:44
- [Speaker] Who that?
3:45
- I do need some ice cream.
3:46
I need some ice cream.
3:59
With a stick of butter and a third of sugar
4:02
and Mountain Dew on top,
4:03
you know it's gonna be sweet, and it is.
4:06
And it's really, really tasty.
4:08
But it's apple, so it's healthy.
4:10
So enjoy these apple dumplings.
4:11
I think that you'll love 'em.
