- Hey, y'all. Jamie Deen.
0:01
I'm here in Mom's Kitchen.
0:03
This is Air Fryer week. And I got lucky.
0:06
I pulled the Best Air Fryer recipe that we have.
0:10
Chicken wings. I love chicken wings.
0:13
Now, we've come through all the holidays.
0:15
There's certainly been our fair share
0:17
of food eating around here.
0:19
Air fryer week is just to kind of kick us off
0:22
A little bit lighter.
0:24
This is a great recipe
0:25
that's got some Asian flavors we're gonna bring in later.
0:27
But first, let's talk about what we're gonna do.
0:30
I've started with about a pound of chicken wings here
0:32
and I've cut 'em into two pieces.
0:34
So I got drums and flats.
0:36
You just need a little bit of oil in here
0:40
and to coat these up.
0:42
I made sure that these are fresh and nice and clean.
0:46
So oil, salt, and pepper.
0:53
Just get these coated with your normal seasonings
0:56
and I'm gonna arrange these skin side up.
1:00
See my little flats right here? I'm going skin side up.
1:03
We're gonna put these in the air fryer at 400 degrees
1:06
and these will cook for about 30 minutes.
1:08
Y'all have to excuse the frog in my throat.
1:10
It is time for all God's children to have a cold.
1:14
And I have three of God's children in my house
1:16
and we love to share.
1:18
So excuse my raspy today.
1:24
We've got our chicken oiled, salt and pepper.
1:26
We're going into an air fryer, 400 degrees
1:29
for about 30 minutes.
1:30
As soon as this gets going,
1:31
we're gonna start on our glaze that we're doing today.
1:34
Delicious. Stick around.
1:36
Alright y'all, I've got about a quarter
1:38
of a stick of butter, I think in here.
1:41
You know, you can find the recipe online.
1:42
And then to this, I've got some ginger and some garlic.
1:48
I love Asian flavors.
1:54
I'm gonna turn this down just a hair,
1:58
and we're just gonna marry this together with the butter
2:01
and get some flavor going in here
2:02
until you can really smell it going.
2:04
I don't wanna do a whole lot of cooking here.
2:08
Well, I wish I could smell that.
2:09
Don't that smell good, T?
2:12
- [Jaime] Ginger, garlic and butter.
2:14
And we got our chicken wings going over in the corner.
2:16
This takes about the same amount of time.
2:19
So I've got this going really good.
2:22
Let's add the rest of our ingredients.
2:25
I'm gonna get some, we're gonna go ginger ale.
2:27
I want to get something in here so this doesn't burn.
2:30
I'm gonna put this entire little bottle
2:33
of ginger ale in here.
2:38
Ginger ale is such a good flavor
2:40
that you can add to hams
2:41
and just all different kind of sauces.
2:45
It's got a citrusy flavor and it cooks down really well.
2:50
We're also gonna add some honey, honey,
2:55
honey, honey, honey, honey.
3:02
This is gonna melt down and get in there good.
3:06
let's get a little bite in there. Lemon juice.
3:09
- [Theresa] That's actually lime juice.
3:10
- [Jaime] Lime juice. That's what I said.
3:15
Lime juice is even better. I love some lime.
3:20
And lastly, soy sauce.
3:24
- [Theresa] God, that smells so good.
3:25
- So good. This is gonna be a delicious sauce.
3:28
In about 30 minutes, we're going to keep this
3:32
on reduced heat, and I want this to thicken up,
3:36
I'll give you... There's a note here.
3:38
If it doesn't get as thick as you would like,
3:40
you can add a little bit of...
3:47
What am I trying to think of?
3:53
- [Theresa] It's a name of a thickening agent
3:54
that you can buy in the grocery store.
3:58
- [Theresa] Flour. You can do flour.
3:58
But the Wondra works too.
4:00
- I was thinking, y'all come back
4:02
and figure out if I can figure out what I'm trying to say.
4:05
I'm gonna cook this real slow
4:06
for about 30 minutes and thicken this up.
4:08
And if it doesn't get thick enough,
4:09
we're gonna add corn starch.
4:11
That's what the word that I was looking for.
4:12
You can take corn starch and a little bit of water
4:14
and we'll thicken it right up.
4:15
Let's see if we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
4:18
Right now we're going good. Stick around y'all, 30 minutes.
4:21
We're gonna have some Asian wings. Let's go.
4:26
That's what I'm talking about.
4:27
I love my wings crispy too.
4:30
Give 'em about 35 minutes in the air fryer.
4:33
And while that was doing,
4:34
you see our sauce is reduced down really nice.
4:39
Ooh, I do love chicken wings.
4:43
I do love air fryer wake.
4:45
There was a time I never, ever used the air fryer button.
4:48
Boy, have I ever changed my tune.
4:51
That is one of the most convenient kitchen tools
4:56
Now we've got our ginger ale sauce.
4:59
I'm not gonna put too much on here,
5:03
and it's a little thin.
5:09
Give it a good tossin'.
5:11
Ooh, we can Y'all smell that? Mm.
5:18
Chicken wings with a little Asian flare.
5:25
- [Theresa] Oh my gosh.
5:26
- [Jaime] You can smell it.
5:27
- [Theresa] Yes you can.
5:28
- Oh, I love chicken wings.
5:30
They're pretty pricey when you go out
5:32
and even at the store these days.
5:34
But they are so easy to make at home y'all.
5:37
And so worth the effort.
5:40
Our boys just love chicken wings.
5:43
Now I'm gonna put a little bit of green onion
5:47
on top of this going with our Asian flavor.
5:53
Really make it pretty.
6:00
Ginger ale glazed chicken wing sauces.
6:14
Really, really delicious, y'all.
6:18
Every time I do this,
6:20
hard to talk with a mouthful of lava.
6:25
Y'all eat these chicken wings,
6:28
before I come to the house and eat 'em for you.
6:30
This is good food y'all. Thanks for tuning in today.
6:33
