Hey y'all, today is how to segment an orange
0:08
First thing you need is oranges, and you need a nice sharp knife. I'm going to take the tips off of both of these so we have a flat surface to work with
0:17
And now what you're going to do is take your knife and you're going to follow the edge of the orange
0:22
Down, we're going to get all the white stuff removed. So curve your knife down around the bottom of the orange
0:30
The trick is I like to try to save as much orange as I can
0:34
I hate to waste any food, and that goes back from being in the kitchen with Mom that said all the profits are in the corners
0:40
So I don't want to throw any of my orange into the trash, and it does take a little bit of practice
0:46
Go all the way down to the bottom. Get all this pith off that you can You can serve this a couple of different ways if you want You can cut it this way and make the circles That really pretty And it really lends itself nice to a fruit salad
1:16
or something that's really pretty. You can throw it in a drink. But you see that all the white stuff in here
1:21
and plus the seeds, it's kinda hard for little guys to chew
1:25
So if you wanna segment it, you take your orange that you've done
1:30
cut it this way and pop out a nice segment of the orange
1:34
that you don't have to worry about your kids choking on the white part. It's all delicious orangeness
1:40
There's a million things you could do with orange peel. You could put them in a pot with some water and some cinnamon
1:45
and you could slow cook them, and it smells really good in your house. Or you can toss them in your garbage disposal with a little bit of ice and some salt
1:52
and it cleans your garbage disposal. Or you could twist them and drop them down in a drink
1:58
You can infuse your water. You can make infused ice cubes. There's a ton of things that you could do with an orange
