Here's something that we all have to deal with
0:07
Day-old bread. I happen to have a loaf of bread here that has gone past its due date
0:12
but I don't like to throw food away. I like to be creative with it. So what we're going to do is we're going to make croutons
0:17
This is really, really simple. I'm just going to take a good bread knife, cut it into slices
0:23
and then we're going to cube it. And I like nice, big, fat croutons
0:28
so I'm gonna cut some into big cubes. You know, this is so easy
0:35
I don't know why more people don't do it at home. Why would you buy croutons? So take our croutons, put them into the bowl
0:44
add a little olive oil. You can do this right on the pan if you wanted to
0:50
but if you toss it around in a bowl, it's a good way to ensure that all of your bread
0:56
gets a little bit of oil All right so there a little olive oil on all of our bread Spread it out onto my baking sheet here And if you want a little more olive oil at this point you can but I think that looks nice

A little salt and pepper. Mm-hmm. I'm giving away restaurant secrets here. This is how they make
1:24
croutons. And you can do it too. If you wanted to put a little Italian seasoning on these
1:29
you could. A little parmesan cheese maybe. Into the oven at 400 degrees for about 10
1:36
minutes, and you will have perfectly crisp, cooked, beautiful croutons. Mmm. Don't waste that bread. And stick with the Paula Dine Network for more tips just like this
