How to Keep Your Lettuce Fresh

Hey, y'all

I've got a great tip for you when you bring your lettuce home from the market to keep it fresh and ready to eat anytime

After you wash it and you break off the dirty parts, trim this right here off the bottom

I'm going to do both of these, and this is something I learned working at the restaurant. Take an ice bath

We've got some water. I'm going to dump some ice in here and put these cut side down into your refrigerator

and let it soak up that ice cold water for about an hour or so

Get your saran wrap ready. I'm going to put paper towels here

This is going to do two things. This is going to help dry our lettuce off after we've washed it

And by rolling it up in the saran wrap, it keeps it from turning brown and getting soft and wilted again

And now you can have a fresh salad anytime you want. The ice bath is also a great tip for your herbs

It takes everything that wants to wilt and lay down and freshens it back up again

It's perfect for celery, your carrot sticks. This is an easy tip that'll do you good things today
