All right, I'm having fun in here sharing with y'all what I've learned over the years in the kitchen
0:10
Look at our cakes. They're beautiful, but they kind of look like muffin tops, don't they
0:16
So I can share with you a little trick that I have learned from my friends that are in the bakery business
0:25
Now, they don't want a humped-up cake, so they're just going to take their serrated knife
0:32
and they're just going to cut that muffin top off of there
0:37
giving them a level cake, and they're going to ice this just like you normally would
0:52
Yummy. Look at that beautiful, moist cake. Since I've cut that little muffin top off
1:02
we could see the inside of that cake, and it looks yummy
1:08
So we're going to remove our next layer. We're going to sit it up there
1:15
and we're going to do the same thing again. And this is going to render us a beautiful, level cake
1:26
All right, now I know you're thinking, Oh, Paula, what am I going to do with that cake
1:32
I don't want to throw it away. And I like to assemble my cakes using toothpicks or I take my long wooden skewers and I break those off and that going to keep my cake from sliding So like I said I know that you thinking
1:49
I have got a lot of wasted cake, Paula. Well, let me tell you what you can quickly do with this
1:56
I'm going to crumble this up, and I'm going to make us cake balls
2:04
So I've crumbled up my cake, and I'm adding some frosting and I'm fixing to get in there with my hands
2:13
to form our cake balls. But before I reach in with my hands
2:21
and start forming balls, I'm going to want to spray my hands
2:25
so that my cake won't stick to my hands. So we're just going to form our balls
2:34
just like that. And then we're going to put them in the refrigerator
2:42
and let them set up. And then we'll put our little sticks in them
2:48
And then we can roll them in coconut. We can melt chocolate and dip them down in chocolate
2:54
white chocolate, milk chocolate. We can roll them in sprinkles, just whatever you think your children would enjoy
3:03
Because you see, Aunt Paula would never suggest to you that you throw perfectly good cake in the trash
3:12
We got cake and cake balls
